My 2 year old Linksys 1900ac died. In my house we don't have cable so I stream 24/7 and I have play alot of games. We have about 5 tvs all with firesticks and we have no issues since we upgraded to this beast! Best thing on this wireless router it comes with 2-3 year warranty from linksys! it's about time linksys. I got it for 319.99 on sale.

    The Ferrari of wifi routers

I could first tell this thing was a beast when I took it out of the box. The router is huge, but has as many ports as you could ever need. 8 ethernet ports plus the WAN port and 2 usb ports. 8 antennas on this router ensures the you have the range and connectivity anywhere you need it. I have a 4500 sq ft house, and I have full WiFi bars anywhere in the house. Setup is incredibly easy. You connect to the wifi network that the quick start guide tells you to connect to (it is also on a lable on the bottom of the router) and then goto linksyssmartwifi.com and presto, you're up and running in minutes. The options on this router for configuration are endless. From port forward, media optimization etc, you can do anything. This router has dedicated bands for only streaming video etc, so you will get full speed network access for high bandwidth demand. My only gripe is the size. While it is probably necessary for all of the power and ports, it is a bit on the large size. I have it hidden in a cabinet so it doesn't matter, but if you have this out in the open it could be an eye sore. In the end, you will never have wifi connectivity issues again if you buy this router. I had two routers with seamless roaming to cover my house before, now I only need one!

I received this router to replace a Netgear R6300 v1 router. I ran a few tests on my old router before disconnecting it and compared the results against my new one. I did not notice much of a performance increase during a speed test comparing the two routers (with only one device connected). However, I did notice a big difference when I had multiple devices connected, while downloading at the same time. With more and more household devices using Wi-Fi, such as the thermostat, printer, TV, and even the fridge, I can see the value in a router that manages multiple tasks and uses multiple bands. Pros: 2 bands 5GHz (for game systems, media players, and computers) 1 band 2.4GHz (for printers, remotes, and thermostats) Fairly easy to set up and use the phone app to manage Wi-Fi 1.4GHz dual-core processor to ensure faster data transfer Antennas can be moved in many different positions to provide a great Wi-Fi signal Cons: Large size takes up a lot more space than most routers (10.5"x9" base without antennas) Aesthetically, it unfortunately resembles a large spider During setup, I had to power cycle the router manually to reconnect to the internet (I would expect the router to cycle itself during setup) High price Conclusion: If you are looking for the top-of-the-line fastest router on the market for your data hungry, movie streaming, online game playing family, then this is the best...for now. However, there are other great routers out there if you do not require the latest and best technology or are just unwilling to pay for it.

We replaced our Linksys AC4000 router for this Linksys Tri-Band Wi-Fi AC5400 router due to Wi-Fi accessories we've been adding to our home. It seemed the older router was hesitant when were online. The AC5400 does the job, even with steel beamed walls. No hesitation what-so-ever, especially in our garage area.

First off let me say this puppy is huge. Not in a bad way, it looks excellent and I wish I could hang it on the wall. But you will need some space for this router to fit. Approximate size including antenna's is 12 1/2" wide x 11" deep. I had purchased not too long ago the biggest and baddest Motorola cable surfboard modem with WiFi and was getting lag here and there with my WiFi signal. The distance wasn't the best either. I would loose signal outside my garage door standing in the driveway. Neither of these are an issue after running this router. I also have no issues during parties any longer with lag, everyone in the house can connect and still have excellent speeds with no lag issues. Set up was cake, novice or experienced. For the novice you can use the existing (pre-loaded) network ID and password, download the app and make changes very easily from your smart phone or tablet. For the experienced its like any other WiFi router, type in the IP and go to town on the settings. Again I love the look of this guy. Also setting up other devices is a snap with the WPS button discretely hidden into the right side of the unit. If you have many wireless devices and or large gatherings then this is the router for you, you will not be disappointed.
