This Linksys wireless router is OK. not great every day i have to keep rebooting it because the WiFi speed keeps dropping out. this router is very expensive and not quite reliable. it looks nice but that's it. i did the firmware update and it did nothing for the reliability. get another router not this one.

All of a sudden our up and down speeds dropped. Plugged a laptop into the modem and got ultra high speed. Plugged the laptop directly into this router and went from 40mbps down and 20mbps up to about 3-5 each. So not sure if I just got a lemon or these have historical issues. It did work fine for a few months at expected speeds however.

I was so excited when I purchased this specific router knowing that it can help me improve my connection but it turned out to be the opposite. I have the 100mbps plan of spectrum and using 32x8 arris modem BUT it still disappointed me. I guess I had too much expectations in this product.

The EA9500 is a beast of a wireless router. Measured wireless speeds were over twice those of my previous unit at 8 different points in my home. The unit has one 2.4 GHz band, two 5.0 GHz bands, eight Ethernet ports, and two USB ports (one USB2 and one USB3). It easily services our four laptops, wireless printer, network disk, two mobile phones, and two tablets, even tucked away in a corner office. The system was easy to set up. I tried setting up with both the setup wizard and manually. Both methods were straightforward. You can also set up a management account with Linksys and manage your router from anywhere. This is a handy feature for those with family members who are network-challenged. There is actually an on-off switch that makes hard cycling easier than unplugging the power cord. Two buttons allow you, respectively, to easily enable and disable WiFi and connect WPS-enabled devices. The only down-side that I have encountered is the router management software. It seamlessly handled all of my devices but two. We have two almost identical laptop computers with the same model name. They have different MAC and (reserved) IP addresses, different system names, and both connect to (and through) the router perfectly. However, these two systems frequently appear under the same icon on the network map. This made it difficult to set different parental controls for these computers. Linksys technical support was outstanding and worked diligently with me to troubleshoot the problem. Unfortunately, it appears to be an issue that will have to await a software (or firmware) update. You may not encounter the problem unless you have two VERY similar computers to connect. Network map notwithstanding, there were no problems with the functionality and the performance of this router is amazing.

I never seen a modem like that. But it does the job for my whole family

It looks like a spaceship and works great. Even our internet provider commented on how good it was.
