Firmware Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to do some tweaking in order to stop dropped WiFi, speeds aren’t quite up to snuff. I’ll see what any future firmware updates do, so far not too thrilled with it.

Fast and Reliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first, this router manages all of my devices without a hitch! All 12 of them. It has the speed and range that I need. One of the most helpful features about this router is the whopping 8 Ethernet ports. I didn't think I would need them, but turned out to use most of them. Another great feature is the App which allows you to manage and prioritize devices. The most frustrating thing with my old router was sudden drop of connection, and lag when playing online games. I'm excited to tell you that this router actually makes a difference. Good bye lag. You won't regret purchasing this amazing router.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own or have owed just about EVERY high end router created so far. I had high hopes this Linksys would be better, faster and have better range than my Netgear X6 8000, WRONG... I tested out the range and speeds and found this Ea9500 has MUCH worst range and connection speeds on all channels G or N. After testing all these manufacturers I have come to the conclusion Asus is the fastest but not by much over the Netgear X6 8000. The Netgear is MUCH easier to set up and the tech support for Netgear is very intelligent compared to the idiots reading a teleprompter from the other companies. Save yourself A LOT of headaches and just get the best Netgear you can afford and you will thank me later. BTW, I tested the the Netgear X6 to the Netgear X8 and found NO increase in speed or range just so you all know. If you don't care about how many ports you have in the back of your router, you can save yourself a little money and get the X8

Ok device when works. Support is horrible now.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No Stars on support if I could. I used to be a fan of Linksys back in the day. They offered great support. Recently had an issue with this device. (Bought because had 3 year warranty). Now when you call for support you get a tech that can not understand. actually went through 4 techs including level 2. First level tech even tried installing wrong firmware on device. Wanted to charge extra for remote assistance. After 2.5 hours got transferred to level 2. Still hard to understand.. Had to do yet another factory reset.. Because I have a smart home with numerous devices they said that it maxed out at 32 devices and nothing they could do. I asked for documentation of this. Nothing. The level 2 advice remove some devices to get under 32. devices. I have moved off all devices but 6 and still have an issue. range is not like used to be and still looses connection to ISP. Even got a new cable modem from ISP no issues with on there end . The Linksys EA9500 still falls offline and looses devices. For a device costing this much, support of product and reliability should be better.

Incredibly Easy setup, great performance and range
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I unpacked the Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 Tri-band WI-FI router and had it connected, configured, and working with all of my gadgets, in a grand total of about 15 minutes (including setting up login on all of my devices). It takes up a bit more space on the shelf than my old router did, but the improved performance, especially on our iPhones, was well worth it. The router covers every corner of our house (three floors, and over 2,000 sq.feet) even down into the corner of the basement. The three channel feature is awesome; we currently have 2 smart phones, 2 tablets, two desktops, a blu-ray player, and our treadmill connected to the wi-fi network with no speed issues. The packaging was easy to open and the documentation and instructions were quite clear. The web-page configuration screen was laid out well and easy to navigate. From opening the box to completed install and setup: 15 minutes.

Fan-fricken-tastic router
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Eight gigabit ethernet ports, three separate bands (with band steering) and easy-to-use software. What else could you possibly ask for in a router? Build: It screams high-quality. It weighs seven pounds for gods sake! Speed: This thing is fast. It carries all 180 Mbps (22.5 MB/s download) through every band. Even when connected through 802.11n on my phone, I get the full 180 Mbps; I used to only get 45 when connected straight through my modem's wireless. Range: It's a lot farther than my modem. I live in a small house (about 35 x 35 feet) and my modem wouldn't make it past the back door. The new router does, and probably about 15 feet past that (802.11ac that is). Inside my house I get a full, 3-bar connection on my phone. Latency: 25ms. Same as wired directly to the modem which is fast enough for gaming =D Software: The software is great! Very easy to port forward and manage each device.

Not for a large house
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This doesn’t cover the square footage it says. Had to buy an extender which doesn’t seem to work all of the time. By same company. Would look for a different product next time.

avoid this brand
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked decent for about 5-6 weeks, then the Wifi stopped broadcasting. Ran through standard and some advanced troubleshooting, called Linksys tech support (pfff), and my agony began. The lady on the phone with me did not listen to the problem, but instead kept trying to run me through boilerplate troubleshooting that had no chance of resolving the issue, oh but I could have access to 'enhanced' tech support for a fee, yeah real clever how it says free tech support on the box...and the free stuff is worth every penny. On more than one occasion I asked her "So do I do XXX or YYY?" and her answer was Yes. That's just a small taste of what I had to deal with. Sweet girl, just incompetent. After almost 2 hours I cut her off and had to insist that we stop beating the splattered remains of the dead horse. Then instead of forwarding my case for RMA as she had repeatedly promised to do after "just one more thing", she instead forwarded it to "LEVEL 2" tech support. These guys called me at 1030PM. I had already bought another router and wasted 2 hours of my life trying to fix the old one...now they wanted me to unplug everything and hook the broken one up AGAIN to give it another round of useless tech support, trying to find a software fix to something that anyone with minimal knowledge of computers and networking could tell within 3 seconds was a hardware issue. I had to refuse that one and insist that if they want to troubleshoot it, they can do so to their heart's content after I send it back to them. Will never buy Linksys again.

2.4GHZ Died after month 4 - was great till then
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this in an attempt to feed my wifi hungry family spread across a large 2 story home. Throughput was amazing out of the box but at month 4 we started noticing spotty connectivity on the 2.4GHz channel. The channel literally disappears from time to time and also rejects connections when it is actually visible. I work in tech and, much to my chagrin, have many hours of troubleshooting routers under my belt - while I am in no way an expert, I'm comfortable with advanced settings and configurations (which btw for as advanced as this router is, the UI is extremely dumbed down and limited on mobile, full web is not much better). I've now added to my resume by having spent many more troubleshooting hours on this particular device, including performing a factory reset to ensure I hadn't mucked something up, validating firmware was up to date, as well as reading other reviews of users with similar challenges. While the 5GHz channels still work well, I have older devices that only run on 2.4. Am now throwing in the towel and adding to the pile of dead routers. Reviews are largely positive here on BB but if you look at another major internet retailer's site you'll see very very poor reviews some mentioning challenges consistent with mine. Should also mentioned mine is v2...if they can't right the ship with a second version, I have to recommend staying away.

Fantastic Router
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never expect any less from Linksys. They have added another great router to their dependable line of networking hardware. Right out of the box, setup was quick and easy. From the setting up the network names and passwords to setting up the shared network drives, all took less than five minutes. I consider myself somewhat of a techie, but would highly recommend this router to anyone at any skill level. Currently we have one smart tv, one computer, two tv streaming devices, three wifi enabled smart phones, two tablets, 4 online video gaming consoles and an e-reader. All stream wonderfully with no network congestion at all. The tri-band feature is truly like having three routers in one, and the range is excellent. I have actually used my wifi from the neighbors house without issue. I couldn't possibly be any happier with this device.
