Just got it yesterday and it's up and running
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the unit yesterday and it took about an hour to install. That included getting an Insignia Roku tv, a Roku3, PS3 and Serviio working. I was having streaming issues with my old router and this unit seems to have taken care of that.

Overall very impressed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these when they were on sale for two different homes. In the larger home ( 2 story , 3500 sq ft) I found it did require the Linksys RE7000 Dual band repeater for excellent coverage everywhere (I had one room upstairs which must have some shielding in the wall, problem resolved after adding repeater) . In my smaller beach home (2500 sq ft) it was not required. Overall set up was very quick and easy. Access via phone app also a big plus especially with remote locations. The three-year warranty also seemingly a big plus.

BEAST
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is a beast. I run 1 iMac, 3 iPads, 2 iPhones,1 MacBook Pro & streaming services and this router never skips a beat. It has excellent range and no matter if you're next to it or outside working in the yard this router handles it.

Expensive, but Awesome Product (Tech Support poor)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product: 5-star Tech Support: 2-star Product No regrets on this purchase! After being frustrated with "dead zones" (even after installing a range extender), I purchased this Linksys EA9500 and have had amazing performance throughout a 2-story house. This router sits on one end of the first floor and the opposite end of the second floor gets great wi-fi coverage. My “dead” zones were previously getting (on a good day) 5MB download when tested via speedtest.net; after installing this router, I’m getting 10x that at 50+MB. My work laptop is getting my full cable’s speed of 100MB! Tech Support The only hiccup was a user error on my end when setting it up. I got the modem/router/pc order wrong. Tech Support’s first strike was telling me I had just 2-years of warranty left. That was odd because on the box it touted a 3-year warranty. When I mentioned this, tech support only said to be sure to save my receipt. I would have expected them to get the data right then and correct the entitlement date: Strike 1. Unfortunately, after spending 30+ minutes with tech support they didn’t catch the my obvious error of the wrong hookup sequence: Strike 2. The technician ultimately started asking for what I deemed was toooo much information about me and my machine. I wasn’t comfortable providing that much information so we disconnected without resolution: Strike 3. Fortunately, shortly after hanging up I had the “ah ha” moment of what I had done wrong, reversed the set up sequence and everything went smoothly after that (no thanks to Tech Support).

A drastic and noticeable improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous N router had had a good life but wasn't cutting it anymore. I had to upgrade and I picked the 5400 as I knew of it being on of the best in terms of speed, reliability, and simplicity that Linksys sells. I had my network up in 30 min and had immediate bump in internet speed on my computer and all wireless devices (I.E. cellphones) plus with 3 years of support from Linksys out of the box I am covered for a long time to come. If you need 1 router for a family of 4+ or a home business this is the solution for you

Superior router if you can afford its price tag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my LINKSYS MAX-STREAM AC5400 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router. The design is simple yet elegant. Although I am used to seeing light indicators on the front panel of devices for various metrics such as wireless activity or connected devices to the Ethernet ports, I am pleasantly surprised how quickly I became accustomed to seeing only the Linksys logo as well as a string of white lights to indicate normality. When I first saw the price tag for this router, I gulped a little--believing initially that the cost was too high for a home router. However, after having it installed for over a week now and viewing the results of its power signal and sleek GUI interface, I am now convinced more than ever that the price tag for this exceptional router is worth every penny. The signal is strong on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels, but particularly the 2.4GHz channel. The setup for this device could not be easier. I simply plugged in the provided yellow Ethernet cable from my cable modem to the yellow Internet RJ-45 port on this router, connected the router's power, waited a reasonable period of time (just a matter of minutes) for the router to initialize and gather the appropriate information from the cable modem, and then followed the easy setup wizard to personalize the router's settings such as the name of my wireless network, passwords, etc. As an extra bonus, a nifty utility is available for your cell phone that allows you to remotely access your router's settings if you are away from home. I have a Samsung phone, and this remote application works beautifully with it. I am sure it also works for the iPhone but can't remember for sure. In conclusion, there is a plethora of excellent routers on the market for your home from such stellar companies as Netgear, Linksys, and others. For the most part, their customer service is outstanding; and it is unlikely you would be dissatisfied with a less expensive router from one of these outfits. However, if you want a superior router and can afford its price tag, I would not hesitate for a nanosecond to recommend this router. You will be content beyond belief.

Excellent!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far one of the nicest routers I've used so far. I've always only used Linksys wireless routers, and this one was better then I was expecting! Set-up was super easy, although there was 1 small issue. The Quick-Start guide that came with it had the wrong SSID & password in it, Luckily, that info can be found on the bottom of the device though. Once I got the correct info, set-up took about 2 minutes. And I set-up an account with Linksys so I can manage my network while on the go! Everything connected to it without issue, including phones, tablets, computers, printers & gaming systems. After a few days of use, I've had no connection issues so far, however, if I do, I'll update my review. Overall, I would highly recommend this product!!!

Upgrade to this!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this product!! I have so many streaming devices hooked up and adding more philips hue bulbs throughout the house. I dealt with buffering a lot with my old N router. Thank goodness those days are in the past! I have lightening speed and max strength in all my rooms. This makes me feel like I'm getting my money out of that monthly bill I pay for internet considering it's so fast, even when I added on additional devices! You should buy this!! Super quick and simple set up as well.

Overall good router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The performance of this router was great. I have about 15 devices that connected to it and I had no lagging or buffering. The only issue that I had was it wouldn't let my Xbox one connect to the internet because of the mac address. I tried going into the settings and adjusting the mac range but it wouldn't let me do anything. If I didn't have that problem I wouldn't have exchanged it.

Posted .Hi, Jakrispy4,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand you had some difficulty connecting your Xbox One with your Linksys EA9500, but were glad to hear that it has performed as expected. It's just sad to hear that you had the unit exchanged. We could have assisted you in connecting your Xbox One to the network.
Anyhow, we do understand and respect your decision. We hope you'll give our devices another chance and we look forward to assisting you in the future.

The Linksys EA9500 is a powerhouse!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a few months of trial and error using our internet provider boxes and mesh systems, this Linksys came out the winner. The #1 contender before this would be the TP-Link Archer 5400. The Archer is about as good, however, offers little antenna adjustment capabilities. I used the Eero Pro, Plume, and Netgear Orbi (AC3000 RBK50). The Eero worked well if you were close to the main unit and the units run pretty warm. The Plume is only good for smaller homes IMO. The Orbi was better than them all signal wise (not in features) but would go offline 1-2 times a day. The Linksys EA9500 beat them all around in my home. So if you're looking for a solid router that will make your gigabit internet worth having I'd pick up the Linksys Max-Stream AC5400 (EA9500). The tri-band comes in handy when you have 10-15 devices running simultaneously. If the price is a discouragement Best Buy offers it for under $340 when on sale. Sometimes better deals are on Amazon. The app is useful and parental controls etc. do not require a subscription fee as do some other systems. Linksys also sells a compatible wifi extender that offers seamless roaming option with Max Stream routers (meaning both units can have the same wifi name). I bought this and used if for 1-2 days and took it back to Best Buy, because it did not seem to extend my signal. Perhaps if you really need a signal outside or behind a dense wall it will be worth the extra $100-150. Note from various articles and YouTube reviews I gather putting all three networks under one wifi name allows the router to decide which channel is best at a given time. If you are luckier than I and can put this in the middle of your home this thing can easily cover 4-5000 sq feet. Being stuck in the main floor corner this thing covers 4000 no problem.

Linksys - EA9500 Max-stream
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Love this router. I have over 34 devices using the wireless network. The speed is super fast and the flexibility to turn on or off a device is especially nice for like when the kids are streaming and should be sleeping. I can pick up my phone open the app and turn their connection off. It can also be set up on a schedule which I haven't used yet but plan to in the near future. If your looking for an amazing router with great range and speed. This is the router for you!

Solid WiFi, no modem
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is blazing fast! This makes a huge download difference on the 5 GHz band Pro: Very noticeable speed download on the 5 GHz band, smaller on 2.4 Setup is pretty easy the app may be useful Con: very hefty price no modem, for $400 you would think a modem would be included. no dd-wrt support yet Tests: I have Time Warner extreme internet. I was using the Arris home WiFi modem. For this comparison I did before and after tests using an iPhone 6 using the Speedtest app. With the Arris, download from about 80 feet away on GHz band was 41.1 down, and GHz was 7635 down. With Linkysys 2.4 down was 54.48 and the GHz bumped up to 165.89 HUGE increase on the GHz and noticeable on the 2.4. My big thing was Roku streaming, even on the GHz I didn't see a huge bump in speeds. No jumps in upload speed, this is probably a TWC restriction.

Great router and easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this router. super fast and best part, even if my wife and kids are all on there devices watching movies, I don't get a drop in my download. I love gaming. I have had other decent routers but this one beats them. when gaming, if my wife and kids start up a movie, it does not effect my ping ingame. my asus router I had, was nice but I would get lag spikes everytime my wife or kids would start up a movie. this router looks like a giant spider and is pretty big. I went from getting around 80mbps for download speeds and now I get what I am paying for 110mbps, (I actually get 111mbps with this). again, its great if you game and have multiple devices in the house that connects as well.

Great Router With Lots of Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router might be expensive but it is worth every cent. I recently upgraded to Cox gigablast and wanted a router that could push the speed I was paying for. Computers and gaming systems that are hardwired get the full gigabit speed while devices on WiFi get between 300 and 700 Mbs depending on how new they are. I have a large house and I get at least 200 Mbs at the furthest points. I love the router and would highly recommend it.

This router is UNBELIEVABLE! Don't hesitate!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an Linksys AC2600 prior. It took over a minute to download 20 emails on a 50Mb connection. When I swapped that out for the EA9500, it took 4 seconds to download the same quantity. Range is unbelievable (3 story house with plaster walls), power is extraordinary, simple interface, just can't say enough about this Linksys! I wish I would have bought this months ago! Do not hesitate on choosing this router. You will never be sorry you did.

Easy setup and great product.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to connect the router to the modem and the power. Log on by following the single page instructions. Setup the home network with a unique password for streaming, another for plain internet access, and even another for guest internet access. The guest access you can even limit how many devices you will allow. For the streaming network you can set priorities. All this was made very simple, as I am not good with working on networks at all.

Perfect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always purchased the middle of the road inexpensive routers, never thinking that the higher priced ones were worth it. After getting this beast, my speeds have seen a significant increase. No more random slow downs on the network, dropped signals or disconnects. I finally get the full speed of fios that I pay for and I can certainly tell the difference. I highly recommend this. Other than size I have no issues with the router.
