Replaced my old router with this one. I would recomend it, but I found it would not reach out to my garage as the distance is to far.

Linksys used to be the go to brand for wireless routers back in the day. I don't think that's the case anymore. The connection speed is okay but reliability is certainly an issue. Random disconnections happen often well within range.

Great Router for Gaming and Streaming

The Linksys Dual-Band AX5400 WiFi 6 Router has provided me with excellent connection speed and WiFi coverage. I am fortunate to live in an area with really good internet speeds delivered to my home. However, it never felt very fast before when gaming online or loading movies. I switched to the Linksys Dual-Band AX5400 WiFi 6 Router, and I finally feel like I'm getting what I pay for. The unit advertises have a coverage area of 2800 squre feet based on conditions. My home is less than that at about 1800 square feet but does have 2 floors. The WiFi provided by this router reaches all corners of my home and well into the outdoors. And everything loads noticeably faster on both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. I probably have around 20 devices connected to it currently, many of which are running at the same time that I use a VPN to work remotely. The speed never diminishes which is excellent. This unit is black with a subtle profile with four internal antennae so it looks good if you need to put it in a high-visibility area. It was quick to setup and get running, probably around 10 minutes. It is configured through the browser of a device connected to the network, so there are no programs to download. I configured it through my phone. It has 5 Gigabit ports: one for your ethernet input and four for LAN. It also has a USB 3.0 port if you want to store something on one of the devices on the network, and a push-to-connect button. I'm very happy with this router as it handles all the devices we connect to it without a hiccup and it makes me feel like I'm getting the speed that I should be from my provider. I can recommend it for gamers, streamers, and for working from home.

I keep my device in a room on the far end of our 2500 sq ft house where the game room is and we get solid download speeds on the other end of the house with the 2.4 band. I was disappointed I couldn’t use my existing velop mesh node since the router appears to support mesh. It looks like you have to have a second router of the same model to use as a child node. As of right now, this device isn’t supported by the Linksys app which was disappointing. The app was very useful for diagnosing connection issues and testing speeds.
I’m a fan of the tower design as it takes up less desk space than my previous model. It’s a little sleeker with its antenna inside, but I sort of liked the spires sticking out. This router actually makes you designate two different SSID’s for the 2.4 and 5 ghz bands instead of automatically differentiating for your devices. It takes advantage of the latest wifi signal and security protocols, but it seems to be a step down in nice-to-have features.

I currently own an older model router, but lately it has been dropping connections, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Just like my other Linksys routers I have owned; this one was pretty easy to set up and get up and running. I plugged it in and was ready to get on-line again. I already have the app and am familiar with changing the passcode and setting, so naturally it was a breeze.
I like how this router has the capability to be included in a mesh network since I may have to use a second router since my house is over 2800 square feet. However, so far, I have not noticed any issues with a weak signal and may not need to complete this task.
My computer let me know I am now connected to a WiFi 6 router, but I haven’t really noticed a great deal of change other than not losing my internet connection.
It would be nice for a setup feature to somehow update all the connected devices from the old router to the new one. It is not that big of a deal, but would make switching routers a lot easier.
Pros
Can be used on a Mesh network
WiFi 6
Cons
So far, none
I would recommend this router since it is easy to setup and is from a company in which I trust to make durable routers.
