I recently purchased the Linksys WRT1900ACS router which is a fantastic router but it's still not enough to have strong signal in my back yard so I bought the WRT1004ANT. Unfortunately I did not see any increase in performance over the stock antenna using the Wifi Analyzer app. In fact, the stock antenna were better on 2.4GHz, and they were comparable on 5Ghz. When I talked to support about it they said there was no configuration needed and it was my option to return them for a refund. I'd like to point out that I am an installer for the cable company in this area so I setup networks every day and this is not from user error.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These antennas did not dramatically boost my signal to my extender. It did slightly strengthen so I was able to connect up the 5G but I had expected better performance. The signal still drops out at times. The extender is about 70 ft from the router.
