The DVD doesn't have a commentary track like it says it does in the Box and the scene selection doesn't work.

Love the originally released movie, not a huge fan of the Director's cut. The end just was weird and kept going...

Not for children.. it would be nice if they remade the story to be more child friendly.

Good but NOT Great

Great packaging and that's about it. The picture quality is grainy. It's very good but not pristine. All the money went into packaging and restoring the original ending. The original ending is a treat. Overall the video quality is not up to 1080P standards. They could have meticulously restored this film frame by frame but they didn't. It does not look that way. I realize some scenes are dark but there's no excuse for grainy film. This looked exactly like a typical fuzzy, grainy film from the 80's. Great audio soundtrack though.

This made me remember the first time I saw it. I looked for this movie for a long time before I finally ordered it online. It is just as good today as I remembered it back when I was a kid.

Bizarre Yet Funny Musical

Performances shine in this comedic musical about a talking man-eating-plant and its owner. Steve Martin is exceptionally funny, as is the cameo by Bill Murray. Well worth a watch. Presented here nicely on this widescreen special edition dvd that is sure to please fans.

The movie was very funny. I greatly enjoyed the acting and musical aspects. My favorites stars in the film are Tisha Campell and Rick Moranis. They performed well in the movie. If you like 80s musical comedies, then this movie is right for you.

Finally got around to seeing this movie. Can't say I was very impressed. Easily the best parts of the movie are when Steve Martin is in a scene, or Bill Murray's cameo. Rick Moranis is fine, doing what Rick Moranis does (but not what James Cameron does do), but I couldn't stand stand Ellen Greene. First off, I thought for the first few minutes of the movie that she was a drag queen (she has a giraffe neck, with a crazy collarbone), and secondly, her voice (at least for this movie) are nails-on-a-chalkboard irritating. It doesn't help that her character (and Moranis' for that matter) is nothing more than a boring stereotype. As I already said, I loved every minute of Steve Martin's sadistic dentist, that and Bill Murray's masochistic character easily steals the show. Decent puppet effects, a couple of kind of catchy songs, and a kind of crazy energy are the other things I liked.

The picture is 1980's grainy. There were no sharpening techniques used on the picture. VERY dissapointing
