    Great features, poor quality

This product worked so well for me for the first month. Easy to install and operate. I did experience some lag time in connecting from the app but I was ok with that. The quality of the picture and audio were great. I liked the fact that it is wireless and can be placed anywhere. My problem began with a firmware update. I experienced a good deal of problems after that, mainly with the battery life. There were updates that fixed the connectivity issues and the wake mode for activity, however, the battery never recovered. Now it needs to be charged so often its more trouble than its worth. I am going to try and put it inside and leave it connected to a power source, but that defeats the purpose. The people at best buy gave me the old 30 day return policy unless I was an "elite" member. I just wanted to exchange it. So thats my experience. If I could have just exchanged it to see if my unit was defective, I would have been much happier. So rather than buy another two for the house I will look into other options.

    Too many issues to recommend

The camera itself has potential, but in my limited experience i had way too many problems to recommend this till the bugs are fixed. Let me start by saying the initial camera i received was super buggy. Instructions are super simple and should have been a breeze, but every time i would try to "pair" the camera to the iphone app on my phone, the camera would "connect" by making a sound, and flashing a solid color, but the app on my phone would never go through, forcing me to close the app, and restart the camera manually to try and re pair the camera by Bluetooth. After about 2 hours (no lie!) of repeating these steps, it finally connected, but the app wanted to update the firmware which i agreed to do, but upon agreeing to do this, the app froze again, which i force closed. Unfortunately, the minute i agreed to update the firmware, the camera went into update mode, and by closing out the app and not letting it complete, i permanently messed up the camera beyond repair. I spent a few hours on the phone with logitech support (who are great, and super friendly by the way!). After trying all there solutions (none worked), they just ended up sending me a replacement camera, stating that what happened to my camera should "never" have happened. Well it did guys! New camera i got is great, paired and connected to my phone within 3 minutes, and did NOT need a firmware update. Camera itself is good, and has 720p video, and night vision. What i DON'T like is that while you can zoom in on the app using the camera, the quality is garbage, so zooming in is pretty pointless. Also, and im not sure if this is just a defect of my camera or not, but the speaker on the camera itself is pretty terrible. I can use it, but if i use the "push to talk" feature for more than a few seconds, a loud ear rattling sound starts coming out of the speaker as well which drowns out my voice. Again not sure if its just a bad speaker on the camera or what. Camera has potential, but unfortunately i would not recommend this currently.

Simple review: No I don't think this is the unit for you. There's a lot of little things that make this an okay camera setup even with some creative ideas. Big Review: Starting us off the unboxing experience is pleasant and terrifying. The reason why I say this is because when you open this up the box is small and inside the box is split in half. My first thought was HOW BIG IS THIS CAMERA? its a two piece unit. I loved how simple the setup process and even though the cable they gave you for charging was sssoooo small it's okay because unlike other brands you can use your existing micro usb cables. I appreciated that! As you move to the app you realize something very quickly it's all over the place. The day briefing is a great idea just why do I have to spend 5-10 minutes deleting one video at a time. I also didn't understand that why all over the box it says 1080P HD and than after you set it up all you see is 720P. Which is still good and I'd even overlook it if not for the next category. Performance, this unit takes I kid you not 30-45 seconds to load up the video EVERY TIME. I know it doesn't sound like much but when your waiting it feels like forever and it than loads to a BLACK video which than takes an additional 10-15 seconds to clear up. This is what lost it for me. I've tried other brands out their and they are not perfect by any means and Logitech has some creative ideas like being able to mount it on a window....sold separately... It even had a great cloud storage offer that didn't make you feel pressured to by the premium version for a monthly fee. Even with these pluses added in the performance to me was bad enough for me not to recommend this product. Price is not bad and pretty comparable to a lot out there. Logitech if you improve the app by just cleaning it up and making controls simpler and even throwing an update to fix the delay the camera seems to have I'm still open to it. Thanks for reading my review hope it helps.

I don't have any other security style camera experience so this is coming from someone with not a lot to compare to. That said, the package does sound like it's made for that kind of person. It's completely wireless so you pretty much just need to be in range of your wifi access point and you have a security camera! It mostly worked like that but there were some issues. First of all, setup was actually quite easy. The Logi Circle app on my iPhone found the camera and ran through the setup process pretty easily. That's about where the awesomeness of the Logi Circle app ends. For the most part, connecting and watching clips on the app is pretty slow. Switching to live view takes a long time even if you're on the same wifi network as your camera (which I'd assume it would be able to decipher and stream directly from the camera instead of needing to connect to the Logitech servers and stream from there). Also, I experienced a lot of instances where settings that I changed just wouldn't stay changed. Or they would, but they would still display a different. Just a lot of small little things like that. You also can't set up any of the "hot zones" in the mobile app. You're required to go to the web app and set them up there, but the live view (at the time I tried it) during the zone setup doesn't work so you really can't setup zones at all since you have no idea where things are on the camera). I talked to support about this and they said they were looking into it. Overall, the app needs some work and I really hope some updates iron our the wrinkles. The camera itself is pretty good. Image quality is very nice on the 720p setting. I haven't even bumped it up to 1080p just because I don't think I need it (and it uses a bit more bandwidth if you do). The picture is usually pretty smooth (I had a few hiccups where video would stutter a little bit). Overall, the camera is solid. Let's talk about the wireless "mode". I haven't totally tested the battery. The box says it lasts 3 months but that can't be true or has to be only if you NEVER check the camera live. After my first 24 hours, the battery dropped from 99% to 72%. This was with pretty regular check ins on the live feed for testing but at that rate, you'd be lucky to get close to a week out of it. The biggest issue, though, is hopefully a software issue that will be resolved. Night vision almost never turned on for me when I was in wire-free mode. I would keep getting clips of things that were happening (probably my cats wandering around) but the picture was completely black except for a tiny area where a light was. I'm not sure if the camera was focusing on that light and then deciding it didn't need night vision, but the area that was illuminated was literally 1% of the picture. I'm not sure if a setting was screwed up somewhere but I could not find any way to resolve the issue while in wire-free mode. I think the issue was with the camera "shutting off" to save battery and not realizing it needed night vision quickly enough when it started recording clips because when I went to live view, the picture would start out completely black and then gradually fade back in (still not using night vision for some reason). Again, this could have easily been a setting that I messed up and didn't see again while attempting to fix it because it seems like a really weird oversight. Luckily, where I decided to place the camera, I already have a couple of USB extension cables running so I hooked the camera up to power. Right away, I was unable to switch from wire-free mode to "always on" mode. This is one of the settings issues I was having in the app. Eventually (no idea why), the switch stuck, but on the initial settings screen it kept saying that wire-free mode was on. Very confusing. The bright side is that in "always on" mode, night vision seems to work again! I watched some clips of my cats walking around with night vision and haven't seen any all black clips since turning on always on mode. So I really like the camera when using always on mode, but if you don't have access to power where you wish to place your camera, you may be SOL. Your mileage may vary! Finally, the way I've found this all works is that the camera is just constantly streaming to logitech's servers. It's not the end of the world but I would hope for something that's as sensitive as a camera that potentially records a lot of your life there would be an option for local storage. Either using your own networked storage or having enough storage on the device to save a day's worth of content. Understandably, it's a tradeoff of convenience over security. The camera comes with 1 day of "cloud storage" for free. They give you a month trial of their "premium" subscription which gives you a full 31 days of storage. This normally costs $15/mo (per camera) or you can subscribe to a smaller premium tier that gives you 14 days for $10/mo. I'll probably use up the free month and just go with the free day of storage, personally. In review. The quality of the camera and picture is great (when it works and when night vision kicks in). The apps could use a little work and I hope this is taken care of in good time. The convenience of wire-free mode comes at a cost unless I totally screwed things up (still the cost of shorter recorded clips). Monthly fees can get pricey if you have more than 1 camera and want more than 1 day of storage. So take into account the downsides of wire-free mode and see if you have a way to hook up USB power where you want the camera to sit since I find this to be the best mode to run it in.

Some electronic products just make me laugh. It’s my odd reaction to a thoroughly well thought out design, and that describes Logitech's Circle2. Logitech’s Circle2 setup was very fast. Logitech claims 60 seconds. Plug it in to its charger. Download the App. Enter or create a password, and sign into your camera. Done. Maybe closer to 2 minutes. I really like Logitech products. I own 3 of their Harmony remotes, a mouse and a keyboard for good reason. They make my life easier. How well does this security camera work? This is a sharp picture, sent reliably via my Wi-Fi and stored for quick access by Logitech, for free, in 24hour increments. I’m going to learn more over the next few days but so far, the Logitech Circle2 works the way I want my security camera to work. There are many features. My favorites include “DAY BRIEFS”, a condensed video summary, selectable ACTIVITY FILTERING to eliminate irrelevant events, and easy DOWNLOADING of useful clips. There are other features that might be useful to you, like the ALERT feature or the ability to TALK or LISTEN via the camera. I now have that FREE ACCOUNT for storage, but the process was so seamless I’d be hard pressed to prove it. My camera’s recording is available on demand and I can choose whether to download or delete it. It’s an easy to use camera App, but if you prefer, it’s also all available from your computer. The time it takes to access your live screen image is very dependent on your local network or ISP service. My access speed was all over the place, but then so is my internet service. What advice would I offer to Logitech? (a) Could you physically balance the camera on its stand a bit better or put that cradle back in the box. Sure, I know the camera is typically going to be mounted securely somewhere, but I might like to set it up in temporary locations. Right now it requires too much fussing to set the camera on a flat surface, and it doesn’t look solid. (b) You’ve got a lot going on with your Web site. It’s too easy to get lost trying to find the entry way into Circle2. I’ve got multiple accounts (or is it only one?) and I keep getting lost. My advice to you, the reader? You’re gonna laugh out loud, too. It’s quick and easy security.

Logitech Circle 2 Wireless This is my first web-based camera. As advertised, there are only a few steps in setting it up but like with all web-based gadgets it needs to do a firmware update before you can use it. That took 10-15 minutes, after timing out the first time. It feels solid and well made, and assembling the mount was very easy. The plug does not take up more than one spot on a strip! That was a nice surprise. The app is used for all operations. The camera's performance is very laggy - going to "live view" after standby can take several seconds, maybe a minute or more. It feels like the app isn't responsive, and live viewing goes into standby at the drop of a hat. The picture is great and offers a wide view. The visibility as day turns to night is better than I expected. Pros: great camera viewing range and picture (at 720p) the app looks good seems to be a solid build Cons: no 1080p even though it's advertised very buggy and laggy, rendering it unusable

    Great Picture Quality

I preordered 4 of these to replace my Nestcams. The main feature I needed was HomeKit compatibility. Although these are not (yet) HomeKit compatible, Logitech has announced that with a firmware/software update they will be. Thus, only 4 stars for now. The picture quality is better than the Nestcams, and much better than the Omnia 180 cams that I also tried since they are the first HomeKit compatible cameras. The microphone and speaker work well, also. I like that in circumstances where 180 degree field of view is too wide, the smartphone app allows you to narrow the field of view, although it’s more of a “digital zoom” type of technique, so resolution takes a small hit when using it. It’s not bad, however. I like that these cameras are modular in that you can get different mounts to fit your use case. I haven’t tried the wireless Circle 2, but that will be my next purpose for outside monitoring.

Easy set up, nice looking camera that does the Job. I have two and the only downside is you can't view the live feed for both cams at the same time but that 180 view is great! Hasnt been bugy with me and is really smart when a car, person, or anything passes by. I have one that sticks to the window and its great.

Let me first say the video is flawless when you can view it. You get a activity alert and nothing is there [audio but screen is black]. Software is very very buggy. A camera this nice should have great software and cloud support. I used trial of premium and still was not impressed. Maybe a trip back to drawing board is needed. I was truly disappointed the 2 way talking was ok but not great from people talking to you from camera.

Has Potential: Serious Issue for Data Capped Homes

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've been anticipating the launch of this camera since it's announcement and purchased it upon release. Coming from a nest household (I've got a cam and an iq cam), I was excited for the free one day backup that nest does not offer. This feature worked great and the 'daily recap' feature was extremely neat, but there are other downfalls... 1) Unlike nest, this camera does not turn off when you're home. This is an issue for me because Comcast has put a data cap on all users in my area (I think this may be nationwide now). If left on, this camera alone would eat up ~30% of my data cap. They have a 'smart location' feature, but all it does is turn off notifications. It seems like something they should be able to add, and I requested it via their support.. hopefully they'll realize the importance of this, but in the mean time it doesn't look promising. I received a response and they directed me back to the 'smart location' feature that only turns off notifcations. :/ 2) iOS app and web app are inferior to nest. I gave up on using the web app as every time I have tried, the quality was terrible and it was constantly buffering. I'd try my nest cams, and they were both streaming fine (so I think I can rule out my connection..). iOS app gave me connection issues too, but far less than their web app. 3) In my tests, the audio quality on the Circle 2 wasn't as loud or clear compared to the nest cam. Having said that, I still like the free one day back up to the cloud should.. I'd assume I'm not the only nest customer thinking the same thing. If they figure out the data usage issue mentioned above and the streaming issues, I would probably give it 4 stars ... The daily recap feature that creates a customizable clip of the day's action pits extremely well with the one day back up... so close to a must have. Comparing the video quality to the nest cam, there were times I'd say the nest had a picture and other times I'd say the Circle 2 did.

Did you know, that there is privacy mode in the settings? When turned on, you still can live-stream but no recordings are made and unless you live stream a lot it should keep your data usage in check.

This wireless camera was very easy to set up. After downloading the logi app and connecting it to my network, it was up and running. I really like that it is totally wireless. The battery is actually larger than the camera. I read that the battery could last up to 3 months. I've only had it for about a week, so we will see how long it actually lasts. I like that it stores video for days and you can go back and view highlights of the day. It appears that it only records when motion is detected, so it isn't just recording the same thing and wasting storage space and battery. You can also download videos if you like. Not a fan of the delay. From the time motion is detected, it can take 45 seconds or so before you receive an alert. I have mine at the front door and the person may be gone before you receive the alert. If you want to check the live feed when away, it takes about 25 seconds to get a live feed. It doesn't matter if you are on your home Wi-Fi network, or remote. The settings menu gives you options for the alerts. So you can receive alerts when there is activity. It is nice to know when the camera detects activity. In my case at the front door. Other than the delays, I am happy with this camera. The wide angle is great and the resolution is excellent.

As is indicated by certain buttons around this review, as a member of Best Buy's Technical Insider Network, I was given a unit (in this case, two) to review in an unbiased manner. As just mentioned, after having gone through two of these units, I really didn't want to give Logi a bad review, but I'm going to have to on this one, and will certainly explain. From a build standpoint, the Circle 2 Wire Free is exceptionally well-built. The packaging held all components quite well (for shipping purposes), and it was dead simple to put together and charge. The iPhone app that's used to connect to the device and the device to the network was very well thought-out and really sets a great standard for how simple setups should be. Unfortunately for me, that's as far as the good side of things goes. In my case, my ISP is Comcast (Xfinity HSI), and I directly connect to Comcast using a customer-owned Netgear modem/router. Then, because Best Buy's TIN let me review a three-node Linksys Velop mesh network, I'd duly set it up and directly connected to the Netgear router. The first challenge was connecting to the Velop network. After several tries on my own, while it would connect from an IP standpoint, the camera would never reach out to Logi in order to properly initialize on my end. Logi was exceptional with their support. After a brief email with a front-line CSR, my issue was quickly escalated to their engineering department. We shortly set up a phone conversation and even attempted to connect via wifi Hotspot on my phone, which still didn't work. They immediately decided to issue me a new camera. With this camera, I repeated the same process, to no avail. We then had a video conference about the product, to which I agreed to perform what would be a final test (Best Buy was needing a review by this point). According to Logi, they believe there's a known issue (but no currently known cause) that if your mesh network's 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands are pointing to the same SSID (is my understanding), their cameras don't like that. However, if they're connecting to a singular band, they work (or perhaps others do, but mine still doesn't). This is the first time I've ever had a network-based device absolutely refuse to connect with the outside world when it needed to. Again, I hate leaving a bad review for Logi, but I'm going to be honest, and caveat emptor is in store -- not for the build, but for the networking.

This is a good camera and the software is very good to work with. I downloaded the app on android and it stated to update the firmware; which does take some time but be patient and it will be over soon. I checked the option on the software and day brief and live view are both mostly good. It sometimes (Rarely though) shows a delay more than a few seconds but is okay otherwise. The angle is real wide for the lens and I think it is better to be put in a corner of the room. I put ours facing kitchen and later found that our dog entering kitchen like a boss. She is not allowed to and never goes in when we are around. But is clever enough to enter without a second thought. Back to camera; the logi circle app is good and is better when used with the subscription. Without that it can still generate the day brief and detects motions and mark those timings; so you can simply go to those bookmarks to see what happened; no need to go through whole day of recording. High five for this feature. I liked this camera and I liked the software more. I wrote the same thing for their mouse and flow software. So who so ever is heading their software unit; take a bow.

I recieved this for my honest opnion in rreturn.... After having so much trouble trying to get this thing up and working, and Im very tech savy.... I already dislike it, took Forever to do a simple firmware update. Then it like to never connect to the logitech app. While it works, theres way better options. This is being used on my 5.p ghz wifi, with Great coverage... I dont know if its the Interface, or the new Firmware Update. But this cam is so laggy, and I really dislike the controls in order to view the camera. Also mine will only display 720p, unlike the Touted 1080p allover the Corcle 2s Box! After waiting a extra 2 months to recieve this, Im very Disapointed, and Dont reccommend it to anyone. I prefer my 4 yr old wifi D-Link cams over these anyday, and they were alot less cost wise, and will do 720p like this cam.

This wireless security camera from Logitech is all you need to monitor inside or outside your house. The circle 2 wireless camera is weatherproof so i installed it outside my house to monitor the entrance of my home, with the 1080p and the ultra wide lens (180o) is perfect to monitor both of my home entrance , the driveway and the porch area. The battery life is super nice, so far i have not needed to charge the camera. The camera was easy to install, easy to set up, just download the Logi Circle app (ios/android) on your phone and follow the instructions and you are ready to monitor your house from your phone. The circle camera has a built in mic and speaker so you can talk right from your app to who ever is on the front of the cam, also has full HD night vision, perfect for the outside of your house. one of the coolest thing included on this camera is the advanced motion filter that identify and record motion activity so you can keep an eye on unwanted visitors that way you don't have to go looking at the whole video. You can also set up on your app smart alerts. Make sure that you have high speed internet and a good wifi router so your camera can work to the max, otherwise your live video may play a few seconds delay.

I read a few other reviews that were negative about this camera, but so far, it has worked well for me; I wish the monthly/annual subscription fee was less, so I am not sure I will be subscribing to that, but otherwise, the camera seems to work flawlessly, although the speaker built in is pretty weak, and its fun watching who it catches doing things in the room we have it set up for; haven't tried it outside yet...

The Logi Circle 2 is a decent security camera, but the built-in speaker and the iPhone app need work. The camera is easy to mount with the included base plate, wall anchors, and screws. I mounted mine outside my front door, since the Logi 2 is meant to be used outside and inside, to keep track of packages and deter any thieves. The camera has a very wide angle that captures everyone walking up to my door and front lawn. There is a time lapse type feature that gives you a nice overview of the day and there is also an option to see whenever the camera saw a person walk by! However, checking the camera from my iPhone has proven to be frustrating since it takes a few minutes to load. I tried connecting to the Logi Circle 2 while I was on the same WIFI network and it took 143 seconds (2 minutes, 23 seconds). This wasn’t even the longest wait time I had to bear. The record was 252 second (4 minutes 12 seconds). What’s worse than a long wait time? Let me tell you…the app outright crashing! In addition, the built in speaker distorts my voice to the point that I do not see myself using this useful feature (useful only if it worked well). Why is this such a huge issue? Besides being frustrating, one of the features touted by Logitech is the fact that you can speak to someone on the other end of the camera, making this an awesome security/deliveries camera. What good is this camera for my purposes if it takes an absurd amount of time to connect and the person on the other end cannot understand my distorted voice?

    So many bugs, it's useless

This is just awful. Bought it from Best Buy the date it was released. Will not connect to camera without unplugging it and plugging it back in. Gets stuck in a ended firmware update loop which is a "known bug" they're supposedly working on. Resolution only goes up to 720p despite it being 1080p camera. Also a "known bug." Takes 30-60 seconds to load live view in the rare case it works and I have fiber internet. Hopefully that will improve. Circle 2 was released too early with logs of bugs. Right now, it's a $200 paper weight.

This camera reminds me of the Patriots going 19-0 and losing the Super Bowl. I’m a Pats fan btw. Viewing field is awesome. Way wider than any other camera in its class. Put it on the front of your house and you can see down the street to the left and right. Resolution during the day is awesome. Nighttime lacks a bit. Motion detect is poor. Takes the camera a lifetime to wake up. My Motorola baby monitor that I had outside would back up and records 3 seconds before it sensed the motion. That was an $85 baby monitor that was meant for indoors. It still works like a charm. The circle however has stopped working. Will not come on. I have an additional battery. No rings light up on the camera. It’s 6 months old and been lifeless for 2 months at least. It would be worth it if it worked but for now I just wasted $300. So hopefully Logitech will warranty their product and retain me as a customer. I have many products for my business that are Logitech but if no resolution is found I will never buy another. Since the camera stopped working I went and spent $300 on a 8 channel DVR with 4 cameras that are 4K and work flawlessly. I do have use for a wireless setup but not one that runs $300 and quits after 4 months. Logitech needs to make it right and warranty their products.
