A: I would strongly suggest watching a video online on how to set up the camera...before trying to set it up with just the instructions that come with it. It is not difficult to set up for someone who is not much of a tech person...like me. It is probably easy to set up for someone who is tech savvy. I am not sure I can answer the second part of your question...the only way I know that it saves a video is to a cloud owned by the company. Circle 2 camera comes with minimal cloud storage. If you want to use it as a 'security camera' you will probably want to purchase additional cloud storage. The company does not give the user other options for storage, I guess for security reasons??? I do like the availability of the option of saving individual clips to send to others if needed. It also has a handy option of looking at the day in video in fast motion in a 60 second clip. My opinion is that if you are looking for a 'security camera', this may not be your best option... although it may be the cheapest and easiest to set up. I use my camera for convenience...just to know when the kids get home or a package is left on my porch etc. If you are seriously needing a security camera system, I would consider consulting an expert.
Q: Will this system alert my cellphone immediately when it detects someone?
A: No. It took about 45 seconds to receive the alert and about a minute and a half to pull up the view. Completely useless to me because of that. I switched to Ring Floodlights. They are immediate and the clarity is absolutely amazing.
A: If I have it set to high resolution. 10800 and motion record sensitivity high then it will last about 4-5 days. It sees a lot of action because I live at the front of the neighborhood and it catches every car that passes by which is appx 2500 a day just in cars. If I set it to same settings and point it only in my yard where it sees little action it will last me three weeks. My advice is buy an extra battery so you have one ready when you go to change it.
A: Yes the camera has to be removed to get the battery off. Life if 3 days to 3 weeks for me depending on location
A: Yes. I do believe it can be stolen as anything can. It is connected to your email and phone or computer device though. It can be mounted. An account must be created to operate the camera and it does have the power/charging cable so this will make it harder for a theft to use
