Instead of locking you into a laptop-like setup, it asks: what if your keyboard could go where you need it? Setting up the Flip Folio reminded me why I appreciate thoughtful design. The case itself feels solid, that soft-touch exterior might show fingerprints (especially on this graphite model), but it provides excellent grip. What struck me immediately was the heft. At 818g total for the 13-inch version, it's actually heavier than Apple's Magic Keyboard. That weight primarily comes from the robust kickstand mechanism and generous magnets that make this case stable. The magnetic attachment for the keyboard is satisfying, and when you snap it onto the back for storage, everything feels secure. The full-sized Bluetooth keyboard can detach completely and sit wherever you want it. Need to elevate your iPad to eye level to reduce neck strain? Go ahead. Want to type while your iPad sits across the table? No problem. The keys themselves offer decent travel and spacing, though they lack backlighting (a puzzling omission at this price point). Battery life is exceptional. Logitech promises two years on four CR2016 coin cells, and the keyboard automatically powers down when attached to the case. The multi-device pairing is genuinely useful; I found myself switching between my iPad and iPhone seamlessly using the dedicated switching keys. In daily use, the Flip Folio reveals both its strengths and limitations. The adjustable kickstand works brilliantly in both landscape and portrait modes, something I genuinely appreciate when reviewing documents or coding. The case provides solid protection front and back, though the edges remain somewhat exposed. Here's what's missing: a trackpad. After years of using iPad keyboards with integrated trackpads, reaching up to touch the screen feels like stepping backwards. It's not a dealbreaker, but it does change how you interact with iPadOS. Some users have reported fit issues around the camera bump, though my unit aligned properly. So who's this for? If you're someone who uses a keyboard occasionally, maybe a few times a week for longer emails or document editing, the Flip Folio makes sense. It undercuts the Magic Keyboard by nearly half while offering unique flexibility. Students who need to type in cramped lecture halls, remote workers bouncing between coffee shops, or anyone who values adaptability over integration will find value here. However, if you're typing all day or rely heavily on trackpad gestures, you'll want to look elsewhere. Bottom line: The Flip Folio isn't trying to turn your iPad into a MacBook, it's embracing what makes a tablet special while adding keyboard functionality when you need it. Is it perfect? No. The lack of backlighting and trackpad will frustrate some users, and the weight negates some portability advantages. But for those who want typing flexibility without being locked into a laptop paradigm, it's a clever solution. Sometimes in tech, different is exactly what we need. Just be honest about your workflow before clicking buy, this keyboard demands you adapt to its philosophy, not the other way around.

In concept this case appears to be an improvement on the Magic Keyboard. In reality there are some annoying drawbacks. The keyboard constantly slides off its magnetic holder. The flip stand does not keep its shape and constantly needs to be adjusted. After using the Folio for 2 weeks I cannot recommend this keyboard. Hopefully Logitech will correct these issues with their next version.
