A sweet looking simple keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is much different then my normal keyboard. At my normal job I use an ergo keyboard and naturally always just bought one for home use as well. For gaming I love how simple this keyboard is and the replacement keys that have a slightly different texture to them for the main gaming keys is quite nice. If you like the feel of a mechanical keyboard and the noise that comes along with that, this is very nice keyboard and I absolutely love the wrist rest. I'm not sure this is a perfect keyboard for every use but for gaming this is much better than anything that I have ever owned before. The response time on the keys are noticeably better in gaming than my typing keyboard. Overall I am quite happy with this keyboard for gaming. If you like a straight keyboard and or don't have to deal with longer typing sessions this keyboard would be an awesome keyboard for someone looking for a simple heavy duty good looking keyboard. The one item I did have a little issue with was that instructions say to download an older version of the program needed to configure the RGB settings, just search for Logitech G suite and you'll get the right software. Pros: Heavy, high quality construction braided cord easily configurable RGB swappable keys certain keys have a different pattern included in the box Extremely comfortable detached wrist rest Excellent response time Feels good to type on USB port on the keyboard Cons: Typing is a little loud (for gaming this isn't exactly a problem) 2 USB ports needed (one is just a pass through though so isn't required but it you don't gain a USB port overall) paperwork wasn't quite accurate on what was needed to download (in the box or on the website) Overall I really enjoy this keyboard and would easily recommend this to somebody looking for a high quality simple gaming keyboard.

It's a Logitech - What Can Be Better?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used Logitech brand keyboards and mice for years. So I know that the quality of the product is first rate but this unit raised the bar. It has a nice heft to it. The body of the keyboard is made of military grade aluminum. The keys have nice travel and I love the sounds the keys made. This unit comes with a memory foam palm rest cushion that adds a nice touch. I downloaded the GHUB software and plugged in my Logitech G703 gaming mouse (which I just love) and was able to sync the color settings that I had picked for the keyboard to now work with the mouse - nice touch! I'm still learning the macro items but it seems fairly straight forward with this unit. The overall impression is of a very nice keyboard that seems a step or two above other boards that I've tried in the past. You cannot go wrong with this unit. The keyboard was packed well and in its own black box.

NIce Tactile and Audible Feedback
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G513 wired keyboard is more solid than any I have used so far. The keyboard has the new GX Blue Mechanical Switches which are extremely smooth, just the right feel and click to give feedback for both sense of touch and sound. The keyboard is beautiful with that solid plate feel and rubber feet to keep it in place even with more frenzied movements in a game. It is also nice to use for every-day tasks like just creating documents. I’m not a fan of the two USB cable connections from your keyboard to the computer. I realize you can then plug your mouse into the port on the keyboard for example but you just used 2 ports on the computer anyway. So why not just plug the mouse into the computer. There is no performance advantage to having the mouse plug into the keyboard. Using the USB keyboard port for a headphone causes the wire to go across the keyboard so I’d say leave this feature off unless you could design one keyboard cable to USB port connection. The best use of this USB port on the keyboard is for device charging and it does have full power pass-through. The GHUB software is great, macros are easy and customizing lighting is easy. The programmers put a lot of thought into a very nice GUI interface and all this means the programming underneath is strong and doing its job nicely. I saw the camera port on the middle of the back of the keyboard and it must be for demo use or a future option. You can change keycaps if you wish. This keyboard at the price point is a steal I think. I found that the key spacing is perfect and also the complete accountant key set is nice to have. I do highly recommend this keyboard. You also get the best I’ve ever felt palmrest with memory foam – wow. This keyboard certainly has wonderful and functional design points and I didn’t find any gaming problems.

She’s a Beauty!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So impressed with this Logitech G513 Wired Gaming Mechanical GX Red Switches Keyboard with RGB Backlighting! Whoa, that was a mouthful. But really, this gaming keyboard is beyond awesome! And being Logitech, you know the quality will be there in the performance and build. Visually, the keyboard is beautiful. Simply stunning. I can’t stop admiring it. Even the bottom of the keyboard itself is stylish. The case material looks high quality, and it is. I don’t even know how to describe it. Except that it’s made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, so you know it will be durable. It’s appearance is that of brushed gun metal. So yeah, badass and beautiful. Installing the Logitech G-Hub is a must. This allows you to fully customize your G513 keyboard for a more personalized (and fun) gaming experience. There are numerous Lightsync Presets and Animations, or design your own via the “freestyle” option. Under the ‘Assignments’ tab, you can assign custom key bindings and create macros, as well as, assign particular actions to the F1-12 keys. There is also the option to disable certain keys under ‘Game Mode.’ You are even able to manage integration for streaming. Of particular note - the cord. Or rather, two cords, which branch off from the keyboard and connect to your PC. They are both covered with a woven material, which is thicker than any other I’ve found of the same type; meaning, they are stronger than your typical wired connector. In addition, one of the cords acts as a separate USB port, so you can plug in your mouse, or charge your phone. Also noteworthy - the two “feet” elevate the keyboard at an optimal angle for gaming comfort. Oh, and I just love the ‘clickety-clack’ sound of the red key switches. They are super responsive, too. Included with the keyboard, are extra key caps and a removal tool. Pretty sweet. However, I most likely won’t be using the memory foam palm rest very often, but it seems comfortable enough upon trying, and presents a low enough profile so as not to become bothersome over time. Not exaggerating, this Logitech G513 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is so well made. It’s definitely worth the cost. If you’re a gamer, get this keyboard.

Great feel and aesthetics
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first experience with a 'gaming' keyboard with all of the lighting options. Now that I own one, I see the appeal. The G Hub software allows you to color each individual key, allowing for custom lit setups per required application. The colors do not have to be static either, allowing for some cool effects like the 'falling snow' Lightsync Effect that I downloaded. The ability to create and share custom Lightsync Effects is a nice add. I took some time to create a static one myself which was pretty simple. When I have more time I have an idea for an animated Avengers theme. The G Hub also allows you to sync up all of your other Logitech G series hardware by Effect as well, so my G933 wireless headset follows the same pattern the keyboard does. I replaced a non-lit Rosewill mechanical with this one. The feel on this one is a tad softer, and the click is not as 'jarring' (for lack of a better word) as the Rosewill, but still satisfying. The added (not attached) wrist pad is awesome and the weight and construction of it should keep it from moving around on you.The keys are also not inset, so I'd think cleaning will be pretty simple. Some things to keep in mind: -For lighting effects, the keyboard will require two USB ports, though you gain one back by the pass thru USB on the keyboard itself -When you apply an Effect, it's applied at all times. A nice change would allow you to set a different Effect while your PC is sleeping. -I also don't see a quick way to change Effects without pulling up the G Hub app (which always needs to run to use specific Effects)

Simple yet effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been fond of gaming keyboards, especially for the backlit keys, but this is the first Logitech keyboard that I picked up. When it comes to gaming keyboard, this one is definitely a little more conservative in design, not too flashy, minus the individual backlit RGB keys. One thing I noticed immediately was the weight, this is a sturdy keyboard built with nice materials. The keyboard comes with replacement keys, I only swapped the '; W.A.S.D. Keys. They are raised on the sides and do sit up a little more than the surrounding keys, this helps me out a little as the keyspacing on my previous keyboard was different so I find myself mistyping, but that isn't an issue with the keyboard, just muscle memory. I do like the F1-Pause keys uptop have a second function with the FN key, it would be nice if they had a little illumination to the to know which are what would be nice, more personal taste, but I am sure over time I will learn the ones that I use. The additional USB port is a nice touch, you are using two USB ports on your computer, but this does allow you easy access to a port you likely weren't using much anyways. Overall this is a really nice keyboard, nice metallic finish, with wrist support. I will have to check out some more Logitech gear, but this was a great introduction to their gaming gear!

My Favorite Keyboard Ever!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m really excited to write a review for this keyboard and share my love for it. The best part is I get to use it to write this! I just love the tactile feel and audible clicks of this masterpiece. Everything I type with this device just gives me a little extra level of satisfaction. The keyboard is very sturdy feeling; it gives off a feeling of quality design and construction. Maybe it’s in my head, but I swear the response time is faster than any keyboard I’ve ever had. It’s like words appear on the screen before I’m even done with each keystroke. The padded wrist support is great too. Best I’ve had. Just the perfect level of padding and of height; I really do love this thing! Oh and that trait most people probably notice first. It’s beautiful. You can customize the lights to do whatever you want. There are even users created color patterns…like waves of color rolling across your keyboard you can download in seconds off their website. It’s easy to create custom profiles for any program/game you run to highlight keys any color and of course create macros if so desired. All in all I really have nothing but great things to say about this keyboard. If I could give it 6*s I would as its head and shoulders above many items I have given 5*s to before.

Great gaming keyboard for PC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G513 is a very similar looking gaming keyboard to the previous iteration; the G413. It has the same aluminum brush finish and black/gun metal'ish keys. The keyboard itself looks like any other full sized keyboard. With the RGB lights off, nothing really screams gaming keyboard. Overall a great looking keyboard. Logitech has decided to allow for more customization with the RGB light settings. You have a number of options to choose from for the lights. (My personal favorite: The color wave effect) There is a single USB pass through where you can plug in a gaming mouse a any USB device that you want. The speed is 2.0 The keys are still using Logitech's Romer-G system. In this case, I am using the linear version. Which is fairly quiet, and very responsive. In order to fully test it out, I launched my favorite shooter and played for about two hours. The keys were responsive during the session. Logitech included a wrist rest with the keyboard, and I hope they start selling this thing separately. They could probably start a whole new market by selling "gaming wrist rests." ...with RGB lighting. Overall, a great wired mechanical gaming keyboard for anyone looking for something with great feedback response and all the pretty lights.

The Colors!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best keyboard I've had the pleasure of owning! From the materials used, to the colorful tones, I truly enjoy using this keyboard as my main one. I do quite a bit of typing for work, and everything is very smooth. The keys are tactile, quick responding, and look great. I love the feel of the keys! Also, with the keys for gaming, it helps to have a definite feeling of the main keys used in gaming. I have never been a fan of using my keyboard for gaming, but now I have been everyday! I would definitely recommend the G513 Carbon to any gamer, and even a business user who wants something fun to use and impress their coworkers with. Great job on this one, Logitech!

Absolutely amazing looking keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Opening up this keyboard has been very unlike unboxing the myriad others I've purchased. There's just a sense of gravitas when you see the metal framework around the keys and there's a significant heft as you lift the box to open it. Despite the fairly minimal packaging, it serves to highlight just how nice this keyboard looks. Overall you know what you're getting as you've probably selected which switches you want in your version, but it's very well made and I quickly have started using it over my older one. My one big con is the fact that the wrist rest does not attach so there's been a couple of times that it's moved around on me. Overall though it stays in place due to the grippy bottom. My one item to watch for is the matte surface of the keycaps as they help add some slip resistance to typing, but their surface catches slightly on nails. They do provide replacement keycaps for the most used keys but it'll be interesting to see how long they hold up.

Spectacular Gaming Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech - G513 GX Red Carbon Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with RGB Backlighting is everything you need to dominate in any game you play on this keyboard. It's comfortable and ergonomic, the keys are very responsive and the design is amazing. I love backlighting. It makes the keyboard look like it's a component in a sophisticated futuristic console. I have played several different types of games (shooters, racing, adventure) with the Logitech - G513 GX and my experience has been outstanding with all of them. Turning and lateral movement is fluid and crisp. When you need to stop instantly, or change direction, the keyboard ensures your actions are prompt and precise. The configurable backlight colors is really nice! I highly recommend the Logitech - G513 GX Red Carbon Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard.

A beautiful, well made, performance keyboard...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will give some feedback that directly compares the G513 to their older G510 and slightly newer (and bigger brother) G910 as I use them on a daily basis. I will not be going deep into specs as that stuff gets beaten to death in reviews (not to mention it's what the "specs" page for the item is for). Out of the box you will see that the G513 is a beaut. The satin metal finish is gorgeous and really looks like a high-end piece of machinery, not just another electronic device. In this regard it looks much pricier than either of the aforementioned keyboard. It has clean, crisp lines and the updated Logitech logos, along with the muted coloring makes the G513 look very classy. There is a well bolstered wrist pad included which makes a world of difference with long periods of use. I do not have one of these for any of my other setups but have been using the included wrist pad with all my other keyboards as it is such a helpful piece of kit, a very nice touch from Logi to include that. Sitting next to the G510 and G910 it really looks like an entirely new class of keyboard, making each of the older units look like they're from at least 10 years ago. It is that big of a jump in the looks department. The keys themselves have a great feel and allow for very speedy typing. I went with the Red (linear) as I already have a more gaming-based G910 and wanted to have another variety in the arsenal. With work it makes knocking out long passages a breeze, you can really fly around and get into a nice rhythm with your keystrokes. You do not have to be as deliberate in your intentions as you would with a tactile gaming setup. Even though the force required is the same, the initiation point for the Red vs Brown feels different (at least to me). With the Red you can really just dance around the tops of the keys whereas with the Brown I found myself needing to be a little more assertive with my intentions. The downside to this is there have been times where I'm merely "resting" (or so I thought) my finger on a key and all of a sudden "ddddddddddddddddddddddd" will appear with a spreadsheet. I've quickly adjusted to removing my fingers from the keys. Not the end of the world, but it has happened often enough to warrant mentioning. Initially I was a little upset by the lack of G-keys and other aux functions like dedicated volume knobs, integrated screens, etc etc as these were the norm on high-end Logi keyboards in the past. But, then I realized they integrated the gaming keys into the F-keys (FN+F8 to activate gaming mode) and appreciated the cleaner look it provided. Yes, you have to learn some new keystroke combinations to activate the various commands, but that's a given. Another nice "hidden" feature is the USB input on the body/frame. Randomly Logi over the years have offered this, but it isn't present on every G-series keyboard, so it was very nice to see it pop up again on the G513. There are also plenty of G-Hub (the Logitech software that controls the colors and various programs of their products, syncing them if you have multiple items like a mouse and speakers with RGB effects, etc etc etc) commands that these key combinations can shortcut to so that you don't have to constantly go into the software itself to control them. And while the Red switch is their quietest in this type of keyboard I will say that it is still quite loud. This isn't really a workplace friendly item. I realize that there are entire office-based products out there so that isn't something Logitech should even remotely be concerned with, but I wanted to point it out all the same. The key action itself is a amazing and smooth as silk, so that more than makes up for it. So why 4 stars and not 5? It isn't perfect - simple as that. 5 stars should be for an item I can't live without, something I am calling people and telling them "you HAVE to buy this!"...and this just isn't that. It's great, don't get me wrong. Heck, I recommend it even at full price, but it is missing something that I can't quite put my finger on that makes me want to give it that final 5th star. Highly recommended especially if you come across it on sale. It's worth full price but on sale it's a no-brainer.

Amazing Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't used to a mechanical keyboard and this totally takes the cake. I play a ton of Overwatch and this makes playing a whole lot easier. Keystrokes are smooth and have a nice feedback. The lights make this keyboard even better. You can customize it to virtually any color of the spectrum. If you are wondering how to control the volume, the function keys do the trick. The function is grey on the keyboard. Love it!

Very nice KBD!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good tactile feedback on key press - responsive even without full press. Keys have audio click with smooth motion - good for gaming and typing alike(pay attention to model - there are a few different key types for this model) Solid aluminum case - quite heavy Ghub software allows for many RGB lighting options - syncs with G-Pro Mouse to match color selection Cord is double USB - is single wire leaving KBD then last 6" is double- cord is braided for durability Wrist pad is comfortable - has wire channel underneath as well - Wish there was a way to attach to KBD though - as it shifts around a little bit from daily use - it does stay put where placed during utilization - I'm just lazy lol Comes with replaceable keys and puller - (1,2,3,4,5,Q,W,E,R,A,S,D) - These key have a different bevel for touch feedback for gaming Notable thing my kid pointed out - when you press SHIFT the subkeys(!@$#%^&) don't illuminate - never do. Such as SHIFT+2 would be @. Keyboard has the typical "CAPS LOCK" light above the number pad and the G Gaming mode light but no NUMBER Lock light. No media keys for quick audio controls - have to use Function shortcut

Great gaming keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, let me compliment Logitech on including a wrist wrest with this keyboard. Too many other don't include such a basic thing. Anyway, I've been using this keyboard for a few months and want to say a few things about my experiences so far. The key switches on this model are not the clicky kind, which is fine. I do notice some slight keypress reverb throughout the keyboard though when typing rapidly. Creating custom lighting routines and macros are primarily done through accomplished through the Logitech G Hub software. I use some of the custom keycaps that come with this product, swapping out the stock keycaps with contoured ones on the Q,E,W,A,S,D keys so that I don't have to look down in the middle of gameplay to find my place on the keyboard. The LEDs are nice and bright and this keyboard can put on a good light show. Nothing shows any sign of wear after using this for a few months. The key presses register immediately with no ghosting that I have noticed. My only gripe would be that it's impossible to see the "FN" shortcuts on the top of the keyboard. They are pring on the front facing edges of the keys and are a bit harder to see in low or no lighting. I game with this every day and would recommend this to my friends.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech never seems to fail to impress me with their products. I use their G502 Lightspeed mouse and it's amazing and this keyboard easily compliments it not only in aesthetic but also in competitive edge. The switches are very responsive and the sounds very nice. The software to control it, Logitech GHUB, is also very clean and easy to use.

Solid keyboard. I love it.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had the Logitech G513 for a few days, I can confidently say that I love this keyboard -- and I'm probably going to end up losing it to my wife. She somehow spends more time at the keyboard than I do, and she gave mine a try. She loves it! The feel of the keys, the backlighting, the weight/grip of the keyboard (it stays where it's put!), and that memory foam wrist rest. Yeah, I'm probably going to need another one... Out of the box, this keyboard positively oozes a premium feel. Nice heft. Brushed aluminum finish. Those keys standing at attention above it all. The minimalist design looks great on my desk! The phrase that comes to my mind when considering the Logitech G513 is "attention to detail." The USB port on the back is an appreciated convenience; I just wish it was USB 3.0. Oh well. The software is easy to use, and your imagination is the only limit to lighting customization. Truth be told, the default schemes (selectable/adjustable via F5-F8) are fine for me. Whether you're looking for a premium quality gaming keyboard with fully programmable RGB backlighting, or a daily driver to stay productive comfortably, the Logitech G513 will not disappoint!

A nice gaming keyboard but not great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech - G513 GX Red Carbon Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with RGB Backlighting - Gray I wanted to like the Logitech G513 since I have had great luck over the years with most every Logitech product I have ever owned. And there is a lot to like with the G513. It’s aluminum build quality is very good and is quite good looking. The weight keeps it in place during gaming and I do like the GX mechanical red keys. They are not as quiet as some other Cherry Red mechanical keys I have reviewed but there very smooth and a pleasure for both gaming and everyday office use. Also the Logitech G Hub software is very easy to use and syncs very well with other Logitech products you might have. The RGB lighting is done very well and looks great with plenty of default and custom lighting options. I also like the addition of the removal keys that are included. They have an indentation so there easy to find from the other keys when gaming. But there are some design choices here that keep me from giving the G513 my highest rating. I have other Logitech RBG keyboards that get by with one USB connection. Since the G513 has a USB passthrough it has the dreaded heavy USB braided cable that requires two USB ports for full functionality. I personally don’t need this additional port but if you do then that’s pretty much what is needed. Logitech is famous for their energy efficient keyboards and mice so if they could have given me the passthrough without the heavy cable and need for the extra port that would have been very impressive. Also there are no dedicated media keys which is very unusual for a keyboard at this price point. Finally the wrist pad is very nice but if you don’t want to use it, the front of the keyboard is almost sharp. It fits fine even though its not actually connected but I find there are times wrist pads can cause fatigue so it’s nice to use them but also nice to remove them from time to time. Typing without the wrist pad is just not comfortable. If your a Logitech fan you might overlook these few minor issues but if your not committed to the Logitech universe there are more choices for RGB mechanical gaming keyboards than ever before and it seems more each day.

Good for some, but maybe not for others
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the good. This keyboard has a great feel, the lighting looks wonderful, but is easy to set to more subdued lighting modes if you wish. It comes with spare key caps for the commonly used gaming keys (including WASD) that has a different contour, allowing positive tactile feedback if your hand is in the right position. It has a nice metal top deck, and it feels very sturdy. Now, for the questionable aspects. There are no dedicated macro keys. If you want a macro, you either have to give up some of your function keys (F1 – F12 on the top row), or you can assign them to those same keys while holding down the “FN” button, making them slow to get to. If you need quick access to macros while still having access to the “F” keys, this is not the keyboard for you. Also, while the primary function of all keys (letter or number) is illuminated, the secondary functions are just painted on. So, if you want to see punctuation or which keys control volume in the dark, you can’t. Finally, this keyboard offers a “USB passthrough” function. This means that the cable ends in TWO USB 2.0 plugs: one for the keyboard itself, and one for the USB port. So, if you intend to use the port on the back of the keyboard, it will consume two ports on your computer. I guess that for this price, they couldn’t afford to build a USB hub into the keyboard. I wonder when Logitech will finally realize that USB 3.0 is actually a thing.
