Good gaming mouse but has flaws

The G700s performs well in comparison to other gaming mice. I am a devout RAT 7 fanatic but I needed an affordable wireless mouse with dual scroll function. The G700s has 2 scroll modes, Incremental and lightning fast smooth scroll. Smooth scroll gets you up and down mile long web pages in a jiffy and assists with fast screen scroll during gaming Every mouse should have dual scroll. The buttons are fast reacting to light touch which is another plus. Tracking falls below my expectations. The cursor jitters when accurate pointing is needed at all rate settings. This is common among Logitech mice. As a graphics artist, those jitters affect precision pointing. The G700s does not offer serious precision tracking but, its not a $120-$200 mouse either. The battery life is by far the worst of any wireless mouse I've ever used. 3 hours before I get a screen warning that the mouse is at 25 percent. It comes with a cable to plug in and charge. The mouse functions when charging but the cable is thick and doesn't flex easily so it can interfere with the physics of free movement. Charge time is approximately an hour. Logitech has to do better than this. It's an inconvenience that should be addressed. At least deliver a better cable that is manageable during use. Finally, a Best Buy issue. This mouse had 4 different prices over the past 2 weeks. $63.99, $61.99, $49.99 and $65.99. I'm not too sure about what kind of marketing strategy that was but I did buy my G700s on Black Friday when the price was $49.99. All in all, the mouse is slightly above average in comparison to others in its range, feels good, built solid, Logitech could have done much better with little effort.

I was excited about this mouse and boy was I let down. The battery wouldn't even last 24 hours on a full charge. I returned it for a refund

Fancy!!

I bought this a year and a half ago and it's still going strong.
Good:
- fit (feels great! I use it for hours without any issues and it has some kind of anti-sweat coating so your hand doesn't get all clammy.)
- wireless
- buttons, but not too many of them
- easy to change dpi
- hyper scrolling
- 3 led lights on the side help you see what dpi selection or profile you're using
Bad:
- Battery life, you'll most likely just keep it plugged in like I do
- Cord is too stiff - but you get used to it
- Laser likes hard mouse pads better
- Sensor is sensitive to dust (pick up a can of air if you buy this and give it a spray once every couple of months.)
- Sensor isn't as good as Logitech's Gx02/303/100/400 sensors
- The G on the palm rest is wearing off
Yes the G700s is aging and is on it's way out the door, but it's still a wonderful mouse.

Great response rate, but battery drains quickly
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The response rate feels identical to a wired mouse. The only downside is that the rechargeable battery drains quickly. Plugging in the USB cable allows continued use.
I've been using this mouse at work for over a year now and just bought a second one for use at home.
I'm not a gamer, but still find that my working demands on a keyboard and mouse are at similar levels to what a gamer would demand.
When the battery does eventually wear out, it can be replaced with another NiMH AA size rechargeable battery. If you use an alkaline battery instead, must make sure you don't plug in the USB cable.

Great Mouse for Gaming and Normal Use

Bought it on sale with a gift card. It's an amazing mouse with plenty of extra buttons you can program to do almost anything. I like the dual mode scroll wheel and the onboard profile storage. The only thing I don't like about it is that the battery doesn't last overly long. I usually have to charge it every other day with normal use. Overall, it's what I wanted and I highly recommend it.

I both work and play on my PC. This mouse fits the bill well for both. I find it comfortable, but the battery life is not great. It gets me through a full work day, but not much more. There is an option to charge as you play, but the cord is really stiff. The cord and battery life are the main reasons I took off a star. Overall, the mouse is good quality and tracks well for gaming.

Great Gaming Mouse - Experienced No Lag
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I was going to get this or the g602 from Logitech, but Best Buy put this on sale for 59.99 so I jumped on it. You could argue that some of the features of this mouse (dpi, polling rate) are overkill, but at the current price there are few reasons to pass it up. Why I like it:
-High Polling Rate (1000 vs the g602's 500 - You could argue overkill, but I experience no discernible input lag around 7 feet away on couch)
-Higher DPI (8600 vs g602's 2500)
-Better buttons (I've read complaints the g602's index finger buttons are flimsy, but the g700s' buttons are solid)
-Solid build quality that is comfortable
What I don't like:
-Charging options - The mouse comes with a USB cable to hook it up to your PC for charging. I wish Logitech provided a charging dock or something else personally. I bought a wall charger with a USB socket for nine dollars and charge it beside my phone.
-Conclusion-
I hooked up my PC to my HDTV for gaming and am really loving it, but I sit seven feet from my setup so wired accessories are out. I picked up an MK 520 keyboard and this mouse and am not looking back! I can't pick up any input lag playing Crysis 2.
People complain about the battery life of the g700s vs. the g602, but unless you are marathon gaming I don't see the worry. After a gaming session I hook it up to my wall charger like a cell phone and I never have issues.
At full price (99.99) I was going to pass the g700s by and pick up the g602, but currently you're getting much better technology at a price cheaper than the g602. I recommend picking it up.

Good mouse for anything, not just gamming

My only disappointment with the mouse is it's short battery life. However, you can use it as a corded mouse while charging it. The programmable buttons are very useful as is the ability to set up various profiles for different uses. It's comfortable in my hand and provides good support for my whole hand.

I recommend this product. It's very comfortable, better than my Razer Naga I had. Only thing is if you're going to bind your buttons you're going to have to program the 1-12 keys or whatever on your mouse using Logitech's software changing your key settings to Generic. Then WoW will pick up the buttons under your profile. Its simple and does the job. Comfort was the key for me. If you want the 12 side buttons like the Naga then use the G600.

Awesome Mouse.

I have seen a lot of review's complaining about battery life. The battery is not an issue first off when you get a mouse that has a rechargeable battery you need to charge it all the way first.
You are able to use this mouse via it's included USB cable while it is charging all the instructions recommend 5-6 of charging before using the mouse's wireless capabilities.
That being said I have used the mouse for a while now and it holds it's charge 22+ hours of actual hard core gaming at max settings before it needs another charge.
The only odd thing is the software, it has amazing functionality and versatility with many games and different programs, however it is a little touchy in the sense that if I changed a setting in the game I would need to restart the Logitech software each time because it would forget the settings that are keyed in to the specific profile.
The other downside to the software is that is has to be open for you key binding's to work properly (only a few buttons can be bound in game). Although it is really nice to be able to do entire macros outside of a game and have it work on my mouse.
All in all a great wireless mouse, good battery life, and great feel!

Using on a windows 8.1 lap top...
Ran the software very easy to reassign buttons to what you want.
I do like the recharge while in use feature and the fact the battery is easy to access and of a common type, so when it does wear out it will be easy to replace. Not a gamer , but I know that the hi resolution and programmable buttons make CAD drawing so much easier which is why I bought the last logitech..... They haven't let me down yet . This is more mouse than I will ever need

Short Battery but Excellent Performance
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The battery life at maximum DPI and refresh settings can be very short (maybe 5-10 hours) but the performance is excellent. Would rather not have the gaming design logos on the product but they look better in real life than in the pictures. I leave mine plugged in while I am not gaming. I wish the cable was braided or more flexible.

Great mouse, few issues

The pros
-Very little lag
-Rechargeable
-Easy to set up
-Works well with MMO's*
The cons
-Program resets settings often, had to set one profile to default and persistent
-*As a side note, it can randomly reset during gaming, forcing to go outside game to change back
-This mouse CAN have issues with home builds, I had to disable some software on my motherboard to make mouse work again after a firmware update caused the mouse to go unresponsive.
Conclusion
I only give 5-stars for products that exceed my expectation, if I hadn't had an issue with programming at all it would have been there. However, I will say this, I do have 2 of them, one for my desktop and one for my laptop. The only huge issue was the last one listed in my cons, it took me hours to finally narrow the problem down.

For gaming purposes, it is fantastic. It tracks perfectly and has a very long range. There is one drawback though....
Be warned!! If you chose to use batteries, this mouse eats batteries like crazy! I am replacing the battery every two days. It is a battery killing machine!

THIS MOUSE IS WORSE THAN A TOY

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I hate to give it one star or the review probably won't show, unfortunate. This is the biggest piece of JUNK I've ever bought for a computer. I've been using computers since the old DOS days and have stayed faithful to the Logitech line for around 30 years. This is a $100.00 rechargeable mouse that didn't work right from the first day I opened the box. I thought the included battery would already be charged but it didn't last a full 8 hours before needing a recharge. No big deal, I thought it just needed a charge. After 3 days of it never staying charged long enough to finish a days work, I assumed it was a bad battery and contacted Logitech for a new one. I was told I would have to return it to the retailer, 250 miles away, or return the complete package to Logitech and I would be without a mouse for "at least 3 weeks". I opted to buy some new DURACELL rechargeables since the tech support said they would work fine, along with normal AA batteries. It turns out the trouble wasn't the battery. This mouse eats EVERY battery, rechargeable or not, new or the one supplied by Logitech. The most use you can get out of a fully charged battery is about 7-9 hours. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS MOUSE TO ANYONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! It's a piece of junk and since I had to buy it because I finally wore out my previous Logitech mouse, I would have to go BUY another mouse to continue until Logitech returned it weeks later. In the future since Logitech has such little concern about customer satisfaction I will dodge all of their products like the plague. IT'S SERIOUS JUNK.
