After trying to similarly priced Turtle Beach wired headsets, then a Tritton wired headset, I ended up with the Logitech G930 and I couldn't be happier. Here's why: Sound quality as my utmost concern. I was upgrading from some old Jensens that were probably 10 years old so anything was an upgrade. The aforementioned headsets sounded much better than my Jensens, but they didn't deliver what I wanted for the price. I wanted excellent sound quality for gaming and the most realistic psudo-surround experience. I was hesitant to buy these due to a few reviewers stating that there was a hissing and popping because of signal interference. However, I have experienced none of this. My computer is set up 12 inches from my N band router, and 12 feet from my PS3 and TV. I have no hissing or interference whatsoever. Mids and highs are nice and crisp, the Bass booms, and while no headset IMHO can deliver a true surround sound experience, these sure beat the turtle beach and Tritton headsets that I tested. Setup is easy too. Just install from CD, then plug in the transmitter to your USB port and your done. Connected! The Logitech software isn't half bad either allowing you to adjust each channel and utilize an advanced EQ. Hooking them up to your PS3 or Xbox will require some ingenuity but Google is your friend and there are forums which can help you with your specific situation.

    Windows 10? Return them

This headset worked flawlessly, great 7.1 sound. Good bass. Great noise cancelling. Comfortable, buttons and volume good. Battery life is a true 10 hours. However. 24 hours later, the headset would shut off randomly. Could be 30 minutes, could be an hour. No solution. Another 12 hours later I was playing warhammer vermintide. Out of know where the headset just crackled all sound. Could hear nothing except for my group chat, but they said my voice turned "robotic and unclear". Returning these permanently. Going to try the corsair wireless set for 5 dollars more. You should too.

I have had the headset a little less then 4 months and it already has a short where it turns itself off every 2-3 minutes. Not the best of quality to start breaking down after FOUR months.

My experience with the software included with the device was terrible. Constant interruptions and disconnects, and the configuration program would crash repeatedly. I should have just went to the website and downloaded the latest software, which has worked perfectly. I decided to plug the wireless adapter straight into a USB port on the front of my PC, I use the charging base to charge my phone and tablet. The headphones are pretty comfortable, and sound great. I've had a ton of Logitech devices (using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse to type this) and they have yet to let me down.

    Logitech G930 Headset

I've been using this headset for the last few years now. I am on my second set, though the first set broke because someone knocked them off of my desk and rolled a chair over them (not me!!!). The sound quality of these are really good. I never realize exactly how good I've got it until I go to someone elses house and use theirs. The surround sound is really nice for gaming, and voices on Skype, TeamSpeak and Ventrilo are all crystal clear. I've also had guild members tell me that I have the best sounding mic that they've ever heard. A few of them have even gone and gotten the same headset that I have, or the corded model. They are also very comfortable, which is good when you have a headset stuck on your noggin for hours at a time. Unless you have monstrous ears, you shouldn't have an issue. The ear pieces are nicely padded, as is the head strap along the top of the headset. Your head never comes into contact with hard plastic. The battery life on the headset is really good. When fully charged you can get about 8 hours on continuous use out of it. I rarely ever have mine unplugged when I'm sitting at my desk anyways, but it's nice to be able to go afk for a drink or to make a yummy snack and still be able to talk to your buddies. I'd recommend this headset to anyone that likes to be able to get up and wander around while using Skype or whatever. If you don't, then you can save yourself and get the same headset, but a corded model, and it will work just as well. I think it's called the Logitech G35. :)

Ubiased Review - Great but not satisfied

    Posted .

So I've been wanting to switch over to a wireless headset for quite some time now but couldn't decide on which set I wanted. This headset is always on sale so I decided to purchase a set to test them out first hand. I will try to be as unbiased as possible and provide an honest review of this headset. Cons: 1. This headset has a few cons that I cannot get over. The main problem I have is the battery life. I bought one of these in hopes of having a full 10 hour use of a brand new headset fully charged but unfortunately I was only getting about 6 hours per charge. I game a lot so I did a continuous test. When I returned this headset and exchanged it for another, the same problem exists. Logitech advertises up to 10 hours so I would expect the battery on a new headset fully charged to last around that much time. 4 hours is kind of a big gap to me so I didn't like that it was almost half the time advertised. 2. This headset for some reason randomly loses signal to the wireless transmitter even though the transmitter is like 6 inches away from me. The first did it about every 2 hours and I would have to restart the computer to get the darn thing to work. The second headset has only done it twice in the last 2 days that I've had it. Still, the fact that the headset loses signal with the transmitter that close and no other signals to interfere with it is very frustrating. 3. Like most headsets of this price range, you expect great sound but for some reason with the surround sound feature turned off, or even on sometimes, the bass is horrible. When you listen to something that has heavy bass, then the sound is very crackly and distorted. But listening to regular music or voice communication programs is great. Pros: 1. The range for the headset is a little more than I expected. The range of the signal is very good and I can sometimes be 10 feet away outside or in the kitchen getting something to drink and still be able to hear game sound and people talking in our Teamspeak. 2. This Headset is very comfortable after its very short break in period. At first its a little tight, but the ear cups will soften up very quickly and fit nicely for hours on end. 3. The mic quality on this headset is great. I used to own a pair of Astro A40s and the mic was horrible. People would say that I sounded harsh and unclear sometimes and that was a problem that I dealt with for almost a year. Luckily this headset has no such issues as im told that I sound 100 times better than the Astro A40s. 4. The logitech software that it comes with is very very neat. It lets you have a voice changing effects with purchasable voice packs. It also lets you enter in a custom equalizer settings for the best sound quality if you know how to adjust them. Overall thoughts: This headset has been on the market for quite some time and at its price range, its a good headset...when it works. This headset has some great features likes its mic quality, customizable software settings, lengthy signal reception, great surround sound and comfortable fit. But unfortunately the two cons that ive listed greatly deteriorate me trying to justify keeping this headset anymore and going with another wireless alternative. At its price range its a great buy but like I stated before, be prepared to deal with the issues I mentioned as I have not been the only one to experience them.

    These headphones have it

    Posted .

These headphones have... everything. Literally anything you could want a headset to have, these things have it. Pros: 1: Wireless 2: 10hr battery life 3: 2 hour charge (on the go) 4: Excellent sound range 5: 7.1 definitely feels like surround sound 6: No noticeable lagg There are only THREE general problems (albeit very slight problems) that I have with this headset. I also had one application specific problem, but there was a fix. Cons: Problem 1: This headset's bass cracks if you bring it up to really high levels, everything else is fine. (this only bothers me because I engineer audio in my spare time, and I've noticed that the bass isn't quite as good as all the other audio aspects, which are near perfect) Problem 2: If plugged in while turning on you computer, you will need to hold the power button for the headset three times before they turn on and are usable. This could be fixed with a driver update, but as of now has not been. Problem 3: One cannot (in Windows 7) output audio to both the headset and surround sound. I would have definitely preferred this simply because it would make switching between them much easier (simply turning off my surround sound). As of this review you are required to manually change the default audio device in order to switch between them. Specific problem (fixed): This headset initially DID NOT work with Ventrillo for me, it was only after I updated both Ventrillo and the G930 drivers before I could hear anyone in Vent. Teamspeak worked just fine from the beginning. In conclusion: Apart from these few problems, I really have no reason to not give this headset a '5' star rating, and so I will. I don't regret my purchas whatsoever, and I am comparing these things against other (wired) headsets I've owned in the past. I've moved on from wired headsets simply because the people I live with have a knack for destroying wires, and so wireless eliminates that problem.

This headset has appealed to me for gaming and overall comfort. It is much better than the g230 and even the g430, though pretty heavy and a prolonged charging time, the wireless and surround sound make up for what the g930 lacks.

You WILL go out and buy this headset. Don't bother looking at any other brand or model. I purchased the Logitech G930, even though it cost a little more than the G35 (the G35 has all the same features, but it's not wireless) The functionality of the volume control and microphone is amazing. The voice morphing provides hours of amusement lol. The ear-cups are really comfortable, and the overall design is slick and practical. With the wireless feature in the G930, I can walk around the house, grab a snack, all the while chatting with friends on Skype or Ventrillo or in-game. No distortion whatsoever. The sound quality is incredible. In fact, the overall experience is so surreal that it feels as though I'm not wearing headphones but listening to sounds all around the room! Base lovers... this set packs a punch! I charged the battery two days ago (when I bought the headset) and it's still at 80%. I've probably used the headphones for at least 10 hours. Logitech has once again proved to have the best battery life of all the wireless devices I own. I've already recommended this set to one of my friends, and he'll probably get one this weekend :) 3 thumbs-up!!

You know you have a good headset when...

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

You are listening to the Surround Sound sample, and you think to yourself "I must have my speakers set as the default audio, because the sound seems like it's coming from across the room..." and when you take off your headset to get up and grab a drink, the sound goes away.... .... Are the hairs on the back of your neck standing up yet? Mine haven't gone down. Between the fact that I can slam my fingers on the desk, drumming to my favorite songs, and not even hear myself doing it, or the fact that I can feel the headphones vibrate with the bass more than my CAR, this is the best computer-audio related investment I have ever made. If you're looking to hear that soldier, NPC or mob that's about to sneak up behind you on WoW, BFBC2, CoD, or MW, anxious to jam out to your music to the full volume without disturbing your neighbors/wife, or just looking for an EXTREMELY comfortable headset for hours of use including the mobility to get up and head to the kitchen for your next refill, this is the headset for you! I can't say enough good things about this headset...absolutely perfect!

I love this headset. The wireless works flawlessly for me and the sound is excellent. The surround actually sounds like a true surround system. Sometimes I forget that l'm not listening to my home surround sound system. The only problem I have is with the construction of the power button. The button is depressed in the casing and is hard to press. It also might take a few presses to turn it off or on.

Great Headset after a couple tweeks

I've had the headset about a week now and I like it a lot. The sound is excellent! The first time I used it, I ripped it off my head because I thought my speakers were still on and was sure I had just woken my sleeping kids. My buddies on Ventrillo say I sound as clear as a telephone. A couple things I did to get them to work the way I wanted and solved problems other reviewers are having. 1. I use Windows 7. I initially installed the software in "Program Files (x86)" and was getting very annoying echoeing when I spoke. I then reinstalled in "Program Files" and it cleared it up. 2. I was unable to hear myself speak. I had the plugged ear problem and the Sidetone did not seem to be working. After I slid the Sidetone bar all the way up, I still had the problem. I then doulbe clicked the slider and it now works perfectly. I have to do this each session I want to use the mic. Not a big deal and hopefully software updates will resolve. I've not tried the Vent push to talk as I wouldn't use it anyways and the voice morphing is not work ing for me but again, I won't be using it. I'm sure if I played with it more I could figure it out. I'm very happy with this headset. The battery life is excellent and the range allows me to use it anywhere in my house. I've not had any interferences at all, even with a wireless router right at my feet.

Pros: Doesn't lose connection, good battery life, comfortable, good sound quality, good mic Cons: Sometimes buggy software causes mic to stay muted when brought back down from the upright position. Also when the headset is powered on anyone that can hear you will get an ear full of buzz. Other: The headset is a little light in the bass for my tastes however i prefer heavy bass so that is more of a personal preference.

    Windows 10 Issues

When I first received this, connecting it was simple and it paired straight away. It worked fine for 15 minutes, then the auto-shutoff kicked in while I was in the middle of a game. Confused, I Google'd the issue. As it turns out, on Windows 10, it never detects whether or not there is audio playing, so it cuts it off. No big deal, editing the device_manifest was a simple enough workaround. They did end up patching that bug with the latest update on Feb 10th, 2016. That's not my problem with it, and never really was. My problem was connectivity and consistency. Ever since the first reboot, I've only had issues upon startup. It never seems to want to connect when I first get into Windows. It may take a couple minuets to connect, or it never will. And there's no consistency with the issue. I've only seemed to find this issue happening on Windows 10, so don't dismiss this headset altogether. If you have Windows 8 and lower, give it a try. It's a great headset, once it gets connected. I really don't want to rollback my OS just because of one single issue with a specific headset. I hope this review has been helpful and informative. I'm still giving this a 3-star rating, and I would recommend this to anyone with Win7 or Win8 because it is quite impressive. I paid $76.99 for this headset on February 6th, 2016.
