Realistic Surround, Adequate Volume, Good Sound

I had the Razer Megaladon first and was pretty disappointed. I hadn't used any other headsets previous to that so I kept it until my dog ate through the USB cable which doesn't detach so Razer said I was out of luck to have it fixed and would have to buy another one since the USB cable was not detachable from the headset..
Soo... I gave the G930 a try and I'm glad I did. Much, much more bass compared to the Megaladon, it's wireless and power is a separate attachment so if my dog gets a taste for USB cabling again I'm sure it's replaceable without having to spend another $150-175 and a new headset.
Sound quality is excellent... for headphones. I'm yet to have headphones match my 4.1 Altec Lansings but for headphones, this comes pretty close. Modern Warfare 2 still has that ttttcchhhh sound (compressed) when shooting something like a shottie but it doesn't seem to distort the headset. Volume levels are generally more than you need so you probably won't max out the volume level. Nades and explosions are big & heavy at default settings.
The headphones themselves, due to the side swivels feel like they're going to fall apart when you take them out of the box. I don't see a need for swivels and I figure they'd do better to set the sides to fixed for perceived sturdiness.
Not really fond of the look. Razer's stuff definitely looks really cool but the end verdict comes down to how it sounds and G930 was twice as good as what it replaced.

Its Great Sound, But Tight on Top of head

This is a great microphone 10 hr battery life when charged. The sound is awesome when your playing songs. But after log period of use your ears get hot and starts to hurt around your ears where the headset rest around your ears. If it was not as tight and maybe even lighter it would so be awesome I like it but I still use my old plug in the red and green quite often do to it hurts.

Wow!! These fit so well, a nice seal around the ears. The sound quality is amazing. The Dolby 7-1 setting works incredibly well. The included roll up up for the charging cable is a nice touch. The microphone is extremely accurate, and the noise cancelling feature works great. They have a good range, about 30 ft. I've been averaging 6-8 hours per charge.

I purchased this set over a yr ago. Plug n play, I have read forums with complaints on the software and helped some. Just install as directed.
I switch between desktop speakers and headset using windows Sound Playback Devices, simple.
My battery life is great. Play for hours on end and the wife likes them for listening to music around the house.
I game with several fellas around my age and more and more of us are using them, I haven't heard any complaints from them either.
I would (and have) recommended them to friends...
There might be better headsets out there but not for the price.
Right now at $99.00, better get em.

works great if you understand how to use them

This headset can work great if you understand 2.4GHz and that most things today use this. I was having issues because it has an auto channel select and so does most routers, This was causing my headset and router to fight for the channels under the 2.4GHz they were using. Since you cant pick the channels on the headset "I feel like this was a designer flaw and would have solved a lot of problems for people" I had to chose a channel for my router and this has stopped all the issues I was having. From most reviews I have looked at people are saying it drops or is losing signal, when you hear the 2 beeps its changing channels for a better connections. I would not recommend this for people in apartments as other peoples stuff will most likely interfere with it. But they are a great headset and they work with my win8.1.

Fantastic Headset, but I run into an annoying problem. the Headset will randomly cut out, turning off the headset. It usually happens within the first 5 minutes of turning on the headset, but after that it is just fine. It seems that a lot of others run into the same problem, and that it has gotten worse over the years. Other than that I really like the headset, and runs well with my g710 keyboard. (Honestly only buy it when it is on sale)

I had this headset for 2 days and I am returning them.. They worked great at first for the first 20 mins then it stopped working. I went to the Logitech website and got the latest drivers and they wouldn't install. I restarted to my pc went to the site again downloaded them again this time they installed worked great for 20 to 30 mins then stopped again.. so I uninstalled the drivers restarted my pc installed again restarted my pc again work for about the same time and then stopped again.. uninstalled again restarted pc and plug it in a different usb port reinstalled again and restarted my pc worked ok for a little bit again then stopped again I repeated this process for another 2 usb port and still did the same thing im running windows 8.1 and I had enough with them couldn't get them to work well with out the drivers from there site or with.. I do have to say when it worked it worked great I loved the sound from them for both music and gaming. I was disappointed that I couldn't keep them working.

Terrible headset

Typically, I try not to write negative reviews unless I truly believe that the product or service deserves it. In this case, its the Logitech G930 headset. It has been nothing but a pain since day one. It sounds really good when it works, I'll give it that. But constantly turning off and on, super short battery life, and terrible driver/software support is not acceptable for something like this. Especially coming from Logitech. This headset continues to make my experience worse every time I use it. I have searched for many ways of fixing is with little or no help. I've tried everything I could. I mean this in the most professional way possible. This headset is garbage.

It is a great headset, not for traveling.

I love this headset. I have beat the heck out of it traveled around the world and it still performs like I would expect. I bought this to use with a Shuretel system and game on the side. I am happy with the performance, I do run it plugged in to keep the charge up and reduce any connection issues.
I have run into a few issues, the frame cracked when I thought packing this in a padded bag was the best option. The bag I used was a bit small and when travel through Seattle to LA to Panama the ear frame cracked. I should have left out of the aftermarket case, I am sure it would have survived. I glued it with epoxy and it has been good to go. I have also run into drivers issues but I am going to place the responsibility on Win 8.1. The headset has a moderate charge life as expected for the price range.
I don't delve into the driver setting for the voice changer and such but it is there for the fun of it.
Give it a go!

Preface my "review" with 1- I am not a headset expert, nor a techie person. I just simply wanted a way to listen to my computer stuff "hands free" as I walked around the house without setting up speakers in every room and wiring the house.
I've had the Logitech G930 for one week. LOVE THEM!!
Love the sound, I can walk from main level down into basement (several rooms away from computer/transmitter), sound is not affected at all.
Unit is very well-made, without being too heavy.
Great fit!
I like that I have volume, pause, other controls on headset.
Easy to set up (if I can do it, about anybody can).
Time will tell if any issues develop, but so far, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Decent Headset, Poor Value
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've had these headphones for about 6 months and I use them on a regular basis. At first they seemed alright; I was mostly using them for Ventrilo or for casual gaming.
Of course, when you first start using a new toy you find a lot of cool things, so I'll start with the Pros and move on to the Cons.
Pros:
Plug and Play
- Pretty straight forward, you plug them in and voila, sound and voice. Can't be simpler.
Voice Morphing:
- Got a lot of good laughs from the voice morphs available with the headset's software. Some of them are awful and incomprehensible, but the few that work well are fun.
Great Microphone:
- This is by far the best feature of this headset. The Microphone is superb. Your voice comes across crystal clear and much of the background noise is negated.
Software:
- You can set up your own EQ settings and adjust the volumes of each speaker, which gives you nice flexibility for controlling your sound. Multiple profiles lets you set your settings for every situation.
So some of the features of the headset are decent... unfortunately, this set seems to fall short in the most important areas for a headset in this price class... Here are some of the problems I faced.
Cons:
Poor Sound Quality
- In order to equalize the volume and bass without the sound seeming like it's being torn to shreds, you have to reduce the speaker volume to about 8 of 11. The result is either low volume with decent sound, or high volume with excruciatingly awful sound. This is something I find unacceptable from this class of headset.
Poor Bass:
- Even with the bass set all the way up, this headset provides moderate bass at best... Combined with the overall low (or terrible) sound quality, makes this headset rather inadequate.
Uncomfortable:
- This is of course a "by-person" Con... I have a somewhat wider head than others. For me, these headphones crush my skull, making long periods of use very painful. And I don't mean "They're a little too tight"... I mean these headphones make me feel like my head is being crushed by a vice.
Durability:
- The plastic around the swivel joint that connects the ear piece to the rest of the headset is poorly constructed. After 6 months, it is already beginning to shatters (yes... Shatter...). It's not just cracking, it's actually breaking away in little pieces, almost as if it was designed to disintegrate.
So overall, I'm thoroughly unimpressed by this headset. There are some things I legitimately enjoyed, but they are mostly gimmicks... When I spend this kind of money for a headset, the 2 primary things I look for are sound quality and durability, and the Logitech G930 headset fails to deliver in both aspects.
I hope they improve for their next generation, as I am usually very satisfied with Logitech. I sincerely hope this does not represent a trend for future products...

Great Gaming Headset but the software has a glitch
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This Headset requires the "Logitech Gaming Software" installed on the computer the glitch is that the headset will turn off in 15 minutes all the time.. you need to edit this file
C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Resources\G930\Manifest\Device_Manifest.xml
Find: battery turnOffInterval="900"
And replace it with : battery turnOffInterval="0"
If you're not techy to fix this do NOT buy this headset.

Overall Great Headset

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've had the headset for around a month and it has been very good so far. I watch movies aswell as tv on the internet. Or listen to music while I play games on my comp, the sound is always very good. Battery seems to last quite a while, not sure about a full 10 hr, but nontheless a long time. The headset is easy to have on for hrs at a time without causing discomfort. My on and only complaint would be that sometimes it will make a "popping" type noise, when it does make the noise its random and not always at the same point as before.

As a gamer that uses voice recognition and it's often called away from my PC, I needed a headset with a good Mic that was also wireless, so I could take it with me if I leave the PC. This headset serves those purposes perfectly.

The headset has great sound but the headset will turn off randomly while playing regardless of charge. It starts to happen not so often and just becomes more often the longer you own this headset. I wouldn't purchase this until Logitech finds a fix to this.

I really enjoyed the sound and mic capability of these headsets. I'm a big Logitech fan. Unfortunately, they charging port went on the fritz due to the cable and I returned them in the first time for a refund and to get a new pair. I haven't experienced any problems with the new pair.

USB 3.0 Beware

Had the headset for about two years now. Battery just died...Logitech has a replacement for $5. I would recommend them highly except to computer users with USB 3.0.
Just built a new system with 3.0. There is interference with the 2.4 GHz signal...Logitech is aware of it but their fix is to send a USB extension cord to move the headset away from the computer...it doesn’t fix the problem. I am looking for a new headset because of the problem. Thought I would share this with those looking to purchase.
