My teenage son uses this for video games and to edit music. The sound quality was unexpected for the price. Definitely a good buy.

I needed Headphones for online classes I am taking. Was going to get music type ones, but associate said these are better for chatting online. Reduces the background noise.

Before buying this headset, one of the ways I chatted wirelessly on my PC was by using a bluetooth headset. Doing so this way had many downsides such as software had to be installed on the PC to use bluetooth although now with Win 8 pairing is much easier with the integrated protocol and bluetooth module on many newer notebooks. Sound quality was also much inferior over bluetooth and that headset picked up every little sound made especially typing sounds. The difference from the bluetooth headset to this one can best be described as going from AM to FM in both incoming and outgoing audio. I don't entirely blame the bluetooth headset for low audio quality. It mostly has to do with the Hands-free protocol of bluetooth that has a lower fidelity. Hopefully the advances with Android 5.0 Lolipop will allow usb headsets like these to co-exist and be used for higher quality phone calls. This headset can be said to be leaps and bounds better and while there's still room for improvement, its to be expected on an entry level headset but still holds out on its own. Design is simple, all the buttons electronics, mic, and battery with the micro-usb port are located on the right ear cup while the left ear cup is just the sound driver and a slot for storing the usb receiver. This receiver is proprietary due to the audio components and is not compatible with the unifying receivers made for other Logitech mice and keyboards so its best to not lose this. Lightweight feel although if enough care is taken it should last long enough until something better comes around. Increasing the volume is done with a button on the 12 o'clock position of a blue circle on the outer right ear cup. Conversely, lowering the volume is done by pressing a button on the 6 0'clock position. Muting outgoing microphone audio is done with a button on the 7 o'clock position. Volume level at maximum position may also not be as high as it should depending on what the other party is using as audio equipment and if the person is soft-spoken. Since this is an on-ear headset the sound isolation is close to none which may be a good or bad thing depending on the environment this will be used in. This is something the purchaser has to decide for themselves otherwise there are other headset options that will serve a more noisy environment better. Setup is as simple as plugging the receiver in although pairing may be necessary. This is done with a program downloaded from Logitech's website. On the headset one would hold the microphone mute and volume up buttons until the LED light flashes rapidly. One interesting aspect is during pairing this will actually show as a bluetooth headset on phones. Unfortunately this headset only appears as a stereo headphone and the microphone can't be used when paired as a bluetooth device. Incoming audio quality is nothing to rave about. Its fine to have as some background music playing in the office or the occasional podcast but it won't provide an immersive music listening experience. For voice communications its still much better than the old bluetooth headset. The microphone boom is small and rotates out 90 degrees from the right ear cup although it won't rotate the other way if one prefers to wear the microphone on the left side. Fortunately the microphone boom is shorter than traditional telephone headsets so its not as obtrusive. For me it rests on the cheek 1 inch away from the mouth. The tip of the mic is rigid although there is a flexible portion that allows the boom to bend left and right but not up or down. The range is about the same as the bluetooth headset I used although a usb extension cable can be used to place the transceiver up on a wall for a less obscured signal path compared to a usb port on a PC laying on the ground. Battery is rated at 5 hours so while it won't last one full day, it can be used while charging or be charged during off times such as lunch and be ready to go. Only a charging cable is provided although for quicker charging its best to use a power adapter made for a tablet or mobile phone with more output amps than a computer can provide. Overall I think this headset is a worthy contender to begin with although I did purchase it at a price lower than the msrp that its typically sold at so some of the shortcomings may have been easier to overlook for me.
