Easy to program, easy to use. Not too big or heavy. I prefer that it requires batteries instead of charging. Must have some technical knowledge to program it, as you need to do so on your computer. This remote can control 8 devices, which will cover a standard household. One drawback is you much have line-of-sight to work the remote with the TV or receiver or DVD or Roku. Just pointing it in the general direction will not be sufficient. Definitely better for smaller rooms/houses.

I have seen hundreds of remotes in my seven years as a Geeksquad home theater installer. Harmony remotes are the most powerful and easy to use remotes at a relatively low price point. This remote is great for a simple system. The only couple of things to think about are the size and lack of Bluetooth. This remote won't work with the PS4 or other devices that don't use IR, for something that will work you would need to get the harmony elite. The remote buttons and screen are also a little small so if you have big hands or poor vision then the harmony elite would be a better choice.

Not a touch screen but sometimes, I actually like having buttons anyway. Was fairly easy to set up on the computer but we still have some kinks to iron out with our media box settings. TV, receiver, BluRay and DVR all worked out fine. Only thing I don't like is that it takes a solid push on the buttons to activate them so if I don't push enough or too fast, sometimes I don't accomplish what I meant to. Was affordable though so after a while, if we want to upgrade, we won't feel bad about getting rid of it and it's doing the job in the meantime.

We have an LED TV with poor sound quality, so we also have a sound bar. We also have a combo VHS/DVD player, a Bluray player, and a cable box. That's five devices in all, with five remotes. This Logitech Harmony remote successfully replaces all of them. The concept of the remote is genius. You download device information from the Internet (via USB connection to a computer) and set up "activities." For example, I can tell the remote that I want to watch TV, and it knows to turn on the cable box, TV, and sound bar and set them to the correct inputs. It also knows that the cable box controls the channels and the sound bar controls the volume. Plus, if you tell the remote to switch activities, or turn off all devices, and something goes wrong, it has a great Help system. For example, Vizio TVs are notoriously picky for where you have to point the remote to turn them on or off. If I tell the remote to turn off all devices, it might not get the TV if I do not have the remote precisely pointed at the right spot on the TV. In that case, I can ask the remote for Help. It will ask me if the TV is turned off. I push the button for No. It then tries to turn it off again and it asks if that solved the problem. If it did not, I can try again (by pointing it closer or at a different point). Once the TV is finally turned off, it asks me if the problem is solved. If not, it will walk through the other devices (sound bar, cable box) and ask if they are turned off, etc. With so many devices, and with some of them being so picky, this remote is a life-saver. Also, considering how much you have to use the color screen, the battery life is more than expected. We use the remote a lot, and the batteries last around two months. One big problem, though: The Mute button is directly above the Rewind button. Since we have cable, Rewind backtracks the current program. We often hit that accidentally when we want to hit Mute. We then have to Fast Forward back to Live TV. The position of the Mute button really needs to be addressed. And, it needs to be addressed with a button-type of remote, NOT by just telling us to get the touch-screen version. My parents do not understand touch-screens; they need buttons. That one reason is why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

This replaced my harmony 600 which I owned for years before it finally gave out due to many drops and bangs. This one handles the right amount of components which is why I decided to go with it. The logitech universal remotes are easy to set up. Just plug it in to your computer, open the software and search for your components. The software programs it for you. There is also the ability to program activities which will turn on the TV, blu-ray player at the same time. I love having a back-lit remote as it helps when watching movies in the dark. Logitech is my go to for universal remotes.

I replaced 4 remotes for 4 different brand pieces of equipment with this unit. I had it running within 15 minutes and it has been perfect. I run a DirecTV DVR, ROKU 2, Sony DVD/VCR transfer system, and a Dynex (who's even heard of it before?) TV, all flawlessly. Truly the hardest part was looking at the back of all my equipment to get exact model numbers. Once typed into the website, it walked me through setting up "Activities" such as "Watch TV", "Watch Movie", etc., so the control is single-button.

I have purchased this unit before but lost it. Set up is easy and works with most devices that are IR controlled. Occasionally, one has to press the same activity button twice to get the desired devices all on and working together as the programming / setup does not allow for pauses in the automatically generated macros. For example, if watching a Movie, it may not wait long enough to change the input from the setting for my Apple TV, so I have to press the movie button again.

Fantastic item to consolidate multiple controllers into one. No checking or entering multiple outdated codes. Just load your component make and model numbers and the online set up does the rest. Even if you have an obscure model device the controller is smart enough to load the most common controls and ask you if it got it right the first time you use it. I responded no for my AV amp (an old Panasonic) and the controller asked me to try again (assuming it switched the code) and then queried if it had it right. Two steps through and all 5 devices were set up properly. definitely recommend this product.

If you want a remote that is easy to program, works exactly as expected, and comes at a low price point, this one is the leader. It doesn't have the touch screens, bells and whistles, and macro capability. What it does do is allow 95% of users to do everything they really want. Internet programming (using USB cable) is simple to do. Buttons are intuitive. In the rare case when a device does not turn on or off, the Help button quickly goes through resolving the issue with easy Yes or No questions. This is the the remote for the masses - and leaves you money to spend on something else.

I got the logitech harmony 650 after using the harmony smart control at a friends house. Set-up was a breeze, the 650 replaced 4 remotes and I hit 1 button to watch cable, start my PS3, and switch input to my chromecast. The remote can be customized to do exactly what you want it to do. The only catch is to point it at your equipment while it goes through the program. I can actually make more adjustments on my receiver with the 650 than I could with the original remote. I also like the color screen, backlit buttons, and the fact its rechargeable. I wish I would have made the transition sooner!

I have the Harmony Home Control which I use in the main viewing room. I bought the 650 to control the TV, Amp, and Cable Box. Pretty easy to setup and use. You just have to remember to keep it pointed at your devices until it finishes a routine to power up, change inputs, etc. You need a computer with a USB port to set this up. If you are looking for a single remote to control your home theater system I would step up to the Harmony Home Control or the Harmony Ultimate

This is our second Harmony remote and were considering buying another for our bedroom. They are incredibly easy to program using the My Harmony app, and it can be done from a Mac or a Windows PC. The remote can support an impressive list of devices, I have yet to find a component that it wasn't able to control. One piece of advice is to buy a couple of sets of rechargeable batteries so you have some on hand when the ones in the remote run low. You can charge the batteries in the remote but can't use it when recharging, I found it easier to just swap them out when needed.

I saw this in a Black Friday email and decided to give it a try. Set up took about 30 minutes as I would forget to add a component and had to edit the different activities. All the components connected perfectly except I did have to fiddle with the Harmony settings to get my Bose Lifestyle system to work correctly. I've had this remote for about a month now and am glad I got it. For those who aren't tech savvy, this can be a bit of a daunting set up; however just read the directions and use the activity settings and you'll never have to juggle remotes again.

I love Harmony remotes, and have for many years. We have 1 on every tv setup in our home, so 5 in total. I have several 650's, a 700 and a Harmony One. This is the best value, and if you use rechargeable batteries with it, it'll continue to be economical. Generally easy to setup and consistent. Somewhat painful here and there when devices don't all come on together or turn off together, but the 'help' button usually gets it fixed. It can be a little slower than your factory remote, particularly on DirecTV boxes, but I do love these regardless.

I purchased the Harmony 650 as a replacement for my Harmony one that my 1 years old damaged. It programs much the same way through a computer and is a pretty seamless process. I did have some trouble using the remote to control Netflix through my Xbox One, but after emailing Logitechs tech support, they sent me a custom file to load that took take of it. I would like a rechargeable battery, but can live without.

Requires an internet connection to connect to its website for programming. You need to have the information for all devices connected to the system you are using. i.e.: DVD player, game console, main brain, cable/satellite box, etc.. Also all of the connection points between the main brain and each component in the system. Seems like a lot of work, it can be, but w/o all of the information on each device & connections, you will not be allowed to program the up to, 8 devices this remote unit can/will program. This unit also has the ability to trouble shoot and correct any minor connection, or function problems and help resolve those that may arise once programming is completed. If you are not completely computer literate, I would suggest requesting assistance from another source to avoid having problems during the setup and long term usage. Your television primary settings must be verified in order to avoid other minor problems post programming. The instructions claim this is an easy: 1, 2, 3 process, but for some it may be a bit more complicated if one, as previously stated, is not completely knowledgeable about their system.

I had the Harmony One remote for years and loved it. If I recall, at least at the time, it wasn't able to control the xbox or appletv though. The harmony one wound up in the washing machine a year ago and after months of going without a Universal Remote, I finally broke down and got this one when it was on sale for $50 or $60. IT IS GREAT! Not quite as fancy as the harmony one, but handles the appletv and xbox commands great. For the price, this was a phenomenal purchase. May get another one for the master.

This is the greatest remote I have ever owned! I have mostly new equipment and it had no trouble tying everything together. Instead of 5 remotes I now use just this one. Directv, Samsung, Sony, Onkyo, Nintendo, Polk, all working together without worries. It took me longer to figure out which inputs what system was using on my TV than it did to run through the setup program on the remote. I love when you set this remote down it goes dark, but when you pick it up it lights up! Cool technology that really works.

We have all of our devices sitting on shelves with direct line of site access. We were able to connect an Onkyo receiver, direct tv genie box, sony blue ray player, apple tv and a samsung 70 in TV with no issues to this remote. Control was very simple and easy to understand. Every function we had with the other remotes is available on this remote and it is easy to use. It makes me wonder why the heck we waited so long to get this thing. The clutter that was the 'pile of remotes' is now gone!

This remote works on everything I have in my entertainment system and is pretty easy to set up using your pc on line (pending you know what device brands you have AND their model numbers, that's very important know). My only complaint is the numeric key pad is too low on the remote for using it with just one hand and punching in the channel numbers with your thumb like most remote allow you to do....is that a deal breaker?...definitely not, but it does take some practice to use it one handed without dropping it. Other than that minor gripe this remote works very well and is also backlit for use in dark rooms. definitely the best remote I've had so far. Well worth it
