My 3rd Logitech Remote
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two (2) older "650" models. This model, the "665" is apparently their newer version. It seems to have the exact same construction as the 650's so I do not know why their seems to be poor reviews on only the new model regarding durability. I've only had the 650's for 6 months or so, but they seem to be as durable as any other remote. This does NOT control a standard ROKU. It will turn it on and off but you will need the ROKU remote unless -according to the manual- you have the highest ROKU model. Having these remotes on each TV/system in the house makes them all work the SAME. No more switching inputs from HDMI to other HDMI or having to determine "which remote do I use".

Great for multi-device set ups at a good price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Harmony Remote is a great universal and learning remote with macro ability. Not a full display perhaps has the high end models, but for the price, it will do everything that you need for a multi-device entertainment area. The only con that it has really is the remotes sometimes struggle to be recognized by windows and the updating software. Might have to connect to different USB and force the driver to load to get it to be recognized. A mild irritation and it isn't often you need to update it anyway once you get it set for all your devices.

Pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The remote works well. You do have to know the model number of every device that you want program and have to hook up to a computer to program. Almost all of my devices were able to be programmed. Only DISH network did not work completely. It worked for the power sometimes. However, it took me from 7 remotes down to 2. It does have a feature called events where certain devices all turn on & switch to the right inputs. This works most of the time and if something doesn't turn on just press the help button and it will go thru all the devices in the event to try to fix whichever part didn't work.

Easy to use and I can stop juggling remotes!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best $50 I've spent on my home theater/gaming room so far! Setup was relatively easy and software walks you right through it. Honestly though, you're just creating "macros" so if you've ever done that before, it's a breeze. Setup took about 2hrs in total and that includes taking the time to go through my entertainment center and write down all the model numbers on a scratch pad (DO THIS STEP). My setup included a tv, receiver, HDMI switch, Direct TV DVR and a half-dozen gaming consoles. The remote recognized all of them and allowed me to create a "one touch macro" for all of them. No more juggling remotes and trying to remember what input to have the tv/switch/receiver on to play X system. It's amazing. My wife likes it so much she's making me get one for the living room tv setup too! Only Cons: it's not real friendly with the Direct TV DVR. Took some extra attempts to setup the remote to work with the Direct TV hardware without a hiccup but there's a really great "HELP" button that works to fix any issues. And my only complaint with the software is there's no way to "unassign" a button. You can re-assign to your hearts content but no way to just up and delete a function off a button and leave it "blank".

Really nice replacement remote
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote is very easy to program with your PC. As long as you have the brand and model # of your components. The only things keeping it from getting a 5 star is when I turn on my Samsung Smart TV, I still have to click another button to get the menu back up so I can select a service (Netflix, Prime etc.). I was also able to program my Roku, but the back button does not work, so I end up using the Roku remote for changing Roku channels etc. Common buttons/arrows still too small.

Posted .Hi TheCaptain, we're excited to see you've found it easy to get started with your Harmony 665 remote! If you're having trouble getting some of the functions to work on the remote with your other devices, you can check out the Harmony support page here: https://support.myharmony.com/en-us/665?utm_source=logitech.com&utm_medium=global%20support%20link&utm_campaign=getting%20started%20-%20665. Hope that helps.

Remote lacks physical buttons
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rated the otherwise excellent Samsung 48 in TV down because of the remote which lacks physical buttons for doing things like selecting a channel, selecting the source input, and displaying the electronic program guide(epg). Fortunately, I was able to buy an Insignia replacement remote for Samsung TVs that does contain all of the physical buttons. And the remote worked right out of the box. Additionally, the EPG guide displays instantly but without half of the information of what's on the channels. On my old 55 in Samsung TV, you have to wait for information download before each section of the guide is displayed, but with completed information. I prefer the ladder. I admonish Samsung to go back to the old school remote with physical buttons.

The only remote you need
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The biggest issue with this remote is that you have to spend some time getting it set up on your computer, and depending on the person, this could be very hard or impossible. The software is fairly well designed, but it does take some thought to get the "activities" set up correctly so that everything is just one button to switch. But, once you figure out the software and get the settings uploaded to the remote, it is amazing how easy it is for just about anyone to then use your TV. As long as you tell them about the help button and to keep the remote pointed towards the TV during the switching between activities, everything works! Now, if you are not very good at computers, then you may still get some good use out of this remote because you can avoid the activities and just use the "Devices" menu to get essentially a switcher between remotes. So if all else fails, you still get a universal remote. If you do dig in and learn everything there is to do, like changing what buttons do for an activity, or customizing an activity to do more when you switch, or teaching missing commands to the remote for odd things like air conditioners, or remote control lights, then this remote turns into something amazing.

This Remote Does It All
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up is simple. Use the microUSB cord that came with this. Plug it into your computer. Download the app. Input the make and model numbers of the items you want this to control. Once it syncs, you are ready to go. I use this for my TV, Roku, DVD player and even my air conditioner. Absolutely love it. I am taking one star off because this is not exactly as user friendly as I would like. The display has to be changed to the specific device every time in order to use the buttons to control it. For example, if I have the remote set to Roku to watch and decide to change the volume, I need to back out to the main screen and then chose the TV in order to control the volume.

Complicated but good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is this easy to program - no. Is this easy to use - no. BUT - the alternative is multiple remotes that are worse. So... pick your poison. At the end of the day this allows me to use one remote and I will eventually get the hang of it - which is better than hoping to eventually get the hang of multiple remotes. And to be fair, the difficulties I'm having are mine - my daughter has no trouble. so if your on the younger side and have excellent vision and naturally understand what the buttons mean you will have no trouble. The rest of us will eventually memorize the thing.

Great remote for the typical AV setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this remote for my somewhat tech-savvy parents as a Christmas gift, as they were frustrated with their multi-remote setup, but weren't entirely sure about the Logitech universal remote. I spent approximately 40 min setting up a Logitech account, installing the software, and configuring the remote and routines. Most of that 40 minutes was actually spent finding icons for favorite channels so I could make that feature convenient for me to use when I visit them (I don't have the channel numbers committed to memory, but I know what channel names I want to watch, so this was a great selling feature for me!). I spent approximately 15 minutes explaining the software setup and remote to my dad, the decidedly more technical of the two, who had no problem understanding it. I spent even less time with my mom, who isn't nearly as tech-savvy but isn't tech-averse either. It was easy to explain the remote operation to her (I spent maybe 5 min showing her the remote), and within minutes, she was happily navigating through and enjoying using their AV setup. They're currently controlling a DirecTV receiver, an LG Blu-Ray player, a Samsung TV, and a Pioneer AV receiver, and the experience is flawless.

Great Product, Absolutely Fabulous Customer Suppor
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech-Harmony 665 is surpassed in quality only by the quality and professionalism of the Logitech-Harmony Customer service staff and division manager. The device is totally programmable. I don't care how complicated (or in my case, not do complicated) your entertainment center is, this one remote control will fully and faithfully control it all. My setup is pretty simple: an audio amplifier, a soundbar, a DVD player, and a television. When I want to play a DVD, a single button push on the 665 and all the appropriate electronics turn on. When I want to watch antenna based television one buttonbl on the 665 does it. When I want to stream from the internet, one button. If I wanted to go straight to streaming Showtime (or Netflix, or HBO, or ...) the 665 would get me there in a heartbeat. A key differentiator of the 665 is the unheralded way the 665 turns on/off: pick it up and the 665 turns on; put it down and the 665 turns off. And, of course, one single button push turns off all your entertainment devices. Could you ask for anything more? I wonder if I could teach it to bring me some popcorn......

Balance Between All Buttons Needed vs Too Many
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is hard to design a universal remote that has all the buttons you need without making too many, and there are perhaps too many here, but overall they got the balance. Programming is done online using a huge database that had all my devices even though some are 15 years old. It took me programming, using, and reprogramming three times to get the functions that made sense to me to the right buttons. Oddly, lesser-used functions are assigned to the color screen. I was used to running my system with five remotes but now it is easier to show anyone else to play the system.

Good Remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just a little background, I purchased one of these, many years ago, it worked great, the only problems, a couple of the buttons wore out in a couple of years, I purchased an Harmony Elite, I have one in my Home Theater also, love it, but my Elite, just froze, could not fix it, did not want the Universal Remote X7, to expensive to operate, this one they had available, I figured I have total tech support, if it breaks again, they will work with me, the remote does remote great, great functionality

Perfect remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just what we needed to control our receiver, cable box, and DVD player. One remote makes it so easy, no steps to remember, just turn on & off.
