Using this remote to control Samsung smart TV, Motorola STB, and SONY amp. The “Activities” feature is pretty awesome. I’ve setup different activities for watching with and without the amp audio. So the volume button either controls the tv or the amp, while channel button works cable box, and the cursor works the Smart TV features. Another cool feature is how you can switch to “device” mode to control any single device. So much to customize, but interface for pushing changes involves plugging remote into a USB.

Once you learn the activities function - you can use it to create a customized activity to turn on and off every device for every room - even multiple activities per room. For example turn on specific devices to watch tv or turn on specific devices to watch blu ray or specific devices to play xbox all in the same room. Need a pc in my case to program remote. The remote also learns from an existing remote. Also you can program each button on the remote to control a specific device’s functionality for example the volume button for the sound bar the channel button for the tv the fast forward and rewind for the blu ray and this is tied per activity. You can also use the activity window to control all your devices or you can use the devices window to control your devices. Pick and choose what you like.

For the most part, its exactly what i was looking for, however, in the programming context, it requires a PC based system, there’s no current “iOS” app, or a way to set macros up from the remote itself.

Pretty good remote. Definitely not for me. I got it to program a netflix and amazon button. Since my original tv didnt have that option i was unable to program remote to do it. Even with giving it directions as in arrow right, enter, etc. It didnt consistently work for various reasons. Im sure this is a great remote for people with multiple pieces of equipment theyd like to control. I only had the 1 tv and it was a bit much and didnt work for my application.

This is a great universal remote if you understand its limitations. Have had no problems getting it to work with any of my devices, and I do like being able to connect it to my computer to program it versus doing it on the remote. Some buttons don't work as expected, and I haven't been able to find a way to get them to work the way I want yet. I'm sure there's a way. I would have much rather had the better Harmony remote, I just couldn't justify the price.

This remote is programmable to work with multiple devices. It connects to an program on the computer with a USB cable. On the computer screen you set up the devices and then sync everything with the remote. 4 stars because the many buttons that are on the original remotes are reprogrammed onto a tiny LCD screen that takes a little trouble to navigate.

So if you have a home theater with a few components in it then you need this controller very easy to use and setup it controls everything from my 4k tv, to my 4k blu player, and my soundbar its so nice having 1 controller to control everything instead of having a whole mess of controllers all the time i love this thing the one reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is well the print on the buttons will ware off over time it kinda drives me crazy but for only 40 bucks i can look past it.

I have two of these in my house. I'd love a more premium* remote, however I see no reason to get anything other than this. The price is right, it does exactly what it needs to do, it's easy to add devices and change button mappings when you plug it into the computer and my first one is over a year old and going strong - so the build quality is great. I use rechargeable AA's and need to replace them every 6 months or so. I definitely recommend this remote and if I had to replace any of the two I have, I'd get the same exact model. *don't get me wrong, this remote has a premium feel. Sometimes I wish I had a fully touch screen remote, however not only can I not seem to find one, this one seems to be better than some of the higher-end Logitech's (for example) so can't justify getting anything else.

I purchased this remote to remove the clutter of having umpteen remotes. I’m very pleased with the purchase I made, and I think it would be a great remote as long as you know that certain devices (Apple TV for one) doesn’t work quite as well when using the universal remote. The best part of my experience was the use of the computer to assist with programming the remote. Although it is an additional step, it makes the process easier in the long run. The activity buttons also make it very easy to use once everything is set up.

I've been using Harmony remotes for well over a decade and the interface continues to get easier with each new version. The 665 is fast and the interface is very customizable. Quite a jump up from some of the previous models and definitely the best way to keep all my other entertainment system equipment remotes in the drawer. All of my Harmony remotes have been reliable - we currently have two others at my house. The 665 has replaced a unit that was at least 8 years-old and had been dropped countless times, had food and beverages spilled on it, tossed around by infants and pets, and yet it continued to reliably support multiple iterations of TVs, receivers and DVD/Blue Ray players. Bang for the buck, you really can't go wrong with a Harmony Remote!

How to return would not work any easier for one remote versus the 3 that I had

My main motivation for getting a universal remote was that I inherited a Yamaha AV unit and it did not come with a remote. My smart TV remote has multi item function but it wasn't satisfactory so I pulled the trigger on a universal. Logitech has never disappointed me and that continued with this product. The programming interface is easy to use. In addition to your AV items, you can program tasks: watching TV, Blu-Ray, DVD, listening to music, etc and only the necessary items turn on. Even individual buttons are programmable. Because of the LCD screen, it does burn through batteries more than a regular remote. I've changed batteries twice in one year. Hardly a deal breaker though.

A recent Sound & Vision article said Harmony devices were the best system controllers for ease of use, and I agree. I've been using them for years, and they just get better. Some people have trouble setting up systems for them, but that's never been an issue for me. It's all pretty straightforward, and if you get something wrong, it takes a couple of minutes at most to fix. And these things control everything, old or new. One of my setups has a brand-new TV, outputting sound via optical cable to a 15-year-old Bose radio, with signals supplied through a TiVo mini box. Watching TV, listening to FM, playing CDs: push one button and you're good to go. Ordinary controls like volume, station change, channels, skip -- all there. On one remote. Cool!

It’s easy to program via the computer software if it can find the model of your devices. I keep having to run the remote through troubleshoot to turn it off sometimes because it forgets the signal.

Have several harmony remotes and like them all. This is basic model but does the job well.

Replaced one of the harmony hub remotes with the 665 remote. Works well most of the time. At times you have to press help because the devices required for the activity you choose do not come on. A minor issues because the interface on the remote screen guides you thru fixing the problem. Overall works well. Don’t need to use my Roku remote anymore , so that is a plus.

One came over, and honestly, the night was going sour, until I suggested we turn on TV. That’s when the night changed my life. She saw this sleek, sexy, long, dark beautiful piece of technology. I bought this remote because I got rid of spectrum cable, I cut the cord! but I have a Samsung smart TV that has Hulu preloaded. So I got Hulu but I wanted a universal remote to control my Sony surround sound receiver, my Samsung 4K Blu-ray player and my TV. I bought this, it comes with the USB cord to plug into your computer. It pretty much self loads from there. You put in the model numbers for all of your gadgets and it programs the remote automatically. You can fine-tune it by setting procedures on how you want it 2 turn on your devices and turn off your devices. You can even set the LCD screen to show watch TV, watch a DVD, watch Hulu, watch Netflix or any other app you have on your TV. I have it set so that when I press Hulu it turns the TV on,turn the receiver on, opens the Hulu app and sets the volume to where I want with one button.

I have a home theater system with a 3D projector, Blu-ray player, AV receiver that my wife has never mastered how to turn everything on and pick the correct input. I bought this remote to do all of that in one. It took about an hour to load the different components into the remote. It made things easier for my wife. It at least made it easier to turn everything on at once. Still a learning curve for her on input selection.

This remote was rather simple to set up and use. It worked instantly with all my devices.
