It works but older Harmony versions are simpler

Had a Harmony One remote for 6 or 7 years and loved it. Easy to program, not fancy but checked all the boxes for my kind of remote and it worked directly to all devices either by RF or IR. Heard that Logitech had stopped making all their remotes and what ever was in current inventory was the end of availability. So decided to grab the Elite before they were gone expecting it to be an upgrade.
The programming software and approach was entirely different from the Harmony one. The Elite is slick and has some nice features but many are hidden in several layers of it's screen pages rather than a button right on the remote, for instance there are no numbered buttons, they are virtual on the remote screen 3 or 4 swipes to the left from the main home screen. Annoying if you want to enter a channel number directly. Also almost every button has two functions. For instance if you are looking at your on-screen TV channel lineup guide and you want to move a full page up, the channel up button is a long press. A short press of the same button is supposed to move just one channel. The trick is to figure out how long or short your press should be for the result you are hoping for. It can be frustrating. Having the hub and the blasters are a nice feature especially if your equipment is behind cabinet doors or not in the direct line of sight.
From what I read, even though Logitech stopped making remotes all together, they are going to continue to support the remote programming software and also continue to maintain and add to the library of equipment and codes to program the remote. Get it while you can !

This remote is the best of its kind! It's pricy but it works the way it should be. I like the fact that it's a touch screen. I am able to control my devices with only one remote. Set up was super easy (I am not a techie person). My only issue is that it looks like my house phone when it's being charge. Other than that I love this product!

This is pretty good, but to really program it properly, you need a desktop computer so,you can download the required program. Without this, much of the power and programmability is lost (or at least very hard for a non-technical person to manage)

The Harmony Elite was a great upgrade from my Harmony 700. All settings from the old unit transferred easily. Setup was very easy. When I had one issue with the control for my TV, the Harmony customer support line was fantastic. Quick response and exactly what I needed. I look forward to adding other home controls (e.g. thermostat, lighting, etc.) in the future.

I would have given it a 5 star if the battery lasted a little longer. Other than that, the remote works great with any device that has infrared and also integrates very nicely with the SmartThings Home Automation hub to control any devices controlled by the hub.

Harmony remotes do everything your system requires except last more than an average of 5 years and that comes right from harmony themselves ... This is a replacement remote which we need with a movie systems however for the cost I feel they should last longer than an average of 5 years .
Harmony has the market on this and does t care to improve the product

Got new AV tuner and tossed old Harmony. This one set up by excellent Geek Squad member. While I awaited appointment, I was managing my DVD, TV and Roku with 5 different controllers. Now that I have mastered the device, I run them all with one. If you buy one, and you are a techno idiot like me, pay to have someone smart set it up.

Throw Away Your Other Remotes

Well not really, but take the batteries out of them before you put them away.
This was an expensive solution to get rid of 5 remotes, but if it lasts a few years, it's worth every penny. Especially if you catch a good sale, like I did. $100 off plus a $30 off My Best Buy coupon.
I bought this model because of the RF capabilities to operate my Bose System and all of my components that were behind glass doors of my entertainment cabinet. The glass doors had to be kept open to operate some of the old devices and the remote had to be pointed directly at the device to operate properly.
Once you have the model numbers of all your devices, the setup online was very easy and the prompts to do basic functions like Watch TV, Play Movie, etc. It doesn't take much to figure out you can edit everything. I changed Play Movie to Watch DVD and then created a new activity, Watch Amazon / Netflix. The last two functions are Listen to FM and finally Listen to Pandora.
The Listen to Pandora activity took the most creativity as the Pandora App is on my Blu-Ray player that only activates the app menu screen about 40 seconds after the Blu-Ray player powers on. On initial setup, I had to wait for the menu to display and then press the proper button on the Harmony remote. Playing around with the App, I figured out I could put in a delay (to wait for the blu-ray player to get to the menu) and then add a function to the activity to automatically select the Pandora option. I've attached a couple of screen captures to show the setup screens.
Enough about the setup, the remote feels great in your hands and it lasts 2 - 3 days off of the charging cradle. Possibly longer if you don't play with the remote like I do and keep the display on.
It doesn't take much effort to swipe the display left or right to get to the numeric keypad or better yet, the Favorites screen with channel logo's. The best part is you can sequence the channels in the order of your most watched channels. So if channel 100 is one of your favorites, move it to the number 1 or 2 position.
Need to find other buttons for a device that arent one of the buttons on the Harmony, press the Devices button on the display, select the device and you'll see all of the other buttons, yes you can sequence them too so that the most frequently used activities are at the top of the list.
Well you get the idea, I love this remote and anyone who picks it up can now operate my system with the press of one button.

This remote is high tech but still tries to be sensitive to easy of operation. All remotes, since the simple on/off switch, have been complicated for me. I was very glad to have the Geek squad to help set it up and back it up on the computer

I have owned other really expensive remotes and this Logitech remote by far beats all others in terms of features, ease of use and price. What more can you ask for! I use this with Echo dot and I am happy with the integration. My latest setup includes only streaming TV (sling) and even with that integration is reasonably seamless.

A little pricey but, more than fulfills the need. Cable box hidden in a closet in another room for clean look. Once getting through the set up works well. A couple of glitches from time to time and needs to be tweaked but overall very good.

This device has great potential for simplifying controls around your house. Besides TVs, cable boxes, etc, it can also control smart home features like WiFi enabled lights and thermostats, and (apparently) works with smart home controls like Amazon Alexa. It does an OK job of controlling the normal home A/V devices, though a bit slowly. This may be due to the crummy cable box that I have, so I won’t dwell on that issue. The big downside to this remote is the fact that the battery depletes very quickly, even when the remote is idle, and there’s no way to turn it totally off. If you don’t keep it in it’s charging cradle it’ll run down to a battery warning in 2-3 days.

I have to say that this is the best Logitech remote I've purchased. The setup was easy and took no time at all. The range from the remote's IR is great and out performs all other previous remotes I purchased from Logitech. I was able to get a discount on my purchase by turning in my old remote and got $100.00 off; which made the cost more reasonable.

This remote is very sophisticated, claims it has an app for your phone, connects with Alexa and is easy to set up. I had a technician from the Geek squad who was very knowledgeable come out to program my remote we worked on it for 3 hrs could not get Alexa to work easily, the app is a duplicate of the remote no need for this. We could not make it work with 2 direct TV boxes in adjoining rooms the RF signal kept getting the boxes mixed up. Finally we took it out and put in the 950 which did the trick and took no time to set up. Make sure you know what they both do before purchasing a Harmony remote because once you do this is the best product.I have ever used.

Well worth it to do the upgrade from the harmony 1. Superior in every way except I can't tell if the battery life is the same. Not a big deal since it is rechargeable. Responsiveness is much better and using the app to sync changes is way better than hooking up to the computer.

Got this remote to operate Dish receiver, Yamaha AVR and Roku in media cabinet and Sharp TV mounted on wall. During setup, all devices connected with the exception of dish. To fix the issue, went through steps to teach commands using dish remote but it never worked. At last, when asked if I have dish remote, I selected “No” and on the next screen selected channel 1 it worked. It was a pain to pair with dish but it finally worked.
About remote, touch screen is not that great since it allows accidental input while handling remote. I suggest you try playing with remote before you buy it. I am not finding screen too annoying yet since I don’t watch too many different channels on dish but it can be really annoying to get to screen to input channel number.
For home control, I can turn on/off without issues but dimmer function doesn’t work. When I turn up/down dimmer it behaves erratically for dimming levels if I keep + or - button pressed. It turns dimmer up and down even when I am pressing + on dimmer. It works well if I hit + and wait for it to execute and then issue another + but that’s really not practical while operating Lights from full or really low brightness. I didn’t really need home control since Alexa is capable so I don’t really mind but it might be important for others.
My biggest issue with remote is slow response while browsing channels in Roku. Original Roku remote is lightning fast while reviewing lists in Netflix but Logitech one is really sluggish. I expected better response from this remote. This is my biggest pain at this point. Another issue is with the buttons in remote for a particular device. Between Logitech app and remote, I found that all possible buttons on my original remote are present in App but I couldn’t find it in remote. I can assign a custom button on remote to the missing button (Options button from my Yamaha receiver) but I don’t understand why app knows about all buttons but they can’t be found on Logitech remote.
I really needed a remote to control devices in my closed cabinet and this remote is capable to do that so all in all I am happy and going to keep it but since this is premium remote, I wasn’t expecting these minor snags.
Cheers

The remote performs as advertised. I was familiar with previous versions...but this unit automatically sets up macro type steps to allow automatic activation of equipment. Some equipment requires additional programming steps to allow proper operation.

I was originally looking at higher end alternatives such as Savant and Control 4 to run my home theater. I decided to buy the Harmony to see how it compares. It is lightyears ahead of the other systems mainly because you can program it yourself (very easily) and it has compatibility with anything you could possibly need.

The remote is high quality and controls almost everything seamlessly. The only hiccup is that my Samsung frame TV is controlled by some no-standard wavelength and can not control the TV. Am working with logitech and samsung on that

We have used harmony remotes for 10 years and had some problems with the Ultimate home remote we purchased 10 months ago. The Elite remote fixes all the ergonomic issues of the Ultimate Home and we're very happy with the overall usability of this one! I highly recommend...
