Just what I wanted

I have had several cordless keyboards but never a backlit one. This thing is great! I am bedridden most of the time and work on a Wacom pad, in the dark, with a 42" screen. I don't wear my glasses because I can see the screen fine while I restore old pictures and I can see the keyboard part of the time when the picture is bright. When it's dark, well they're trifocals and a xitch to wear. But this keyboard is just the ticket. It shuts off within a couple seconds of removing your hand and senses your fingers about an inch from the board when you go back.
The charge has been lasting 4 to 6 weeks with what I would call medium use. Plugs into usb or 110v adapter. It has 3 charge level leds.
I just love this thing, may get my wife one.

I replaced a ten year old wireless keyboard and mouse combination with this keyboard (bought a separate mouse) and I am impressed. I wanted a wireless backlit keyboard and there really aren't a tremendous amount of choices. Based on reviews, this was my choice. I could not be happier.
My old keyboard was ergonomic (supposedly) with the keys angled in. This standard and it really makes no difference. What does make a difference -- a big difference -- is the tactile action of the keys. Clicking these keys has a great and almost effortless feel. I haven't done a timed test, but I'd guess I'm easily tying 15 - 20% faster.
The backlight is great with adjustable brightness. Not only that, it turns off in a few seconds, but unlike my laptop, I don't have to press a key or touchpad to get them to reilluminate. All you have to do is to wave your hand over the keyboard and they relight. Really nice.
Since there's an ON/OFF switch, you can really conserve battery power.
Oh, it's a very low profile, so if its on a sliding tray, it will easily store when you slide the tray back in. In my old keyboard, I had to fold down the legs on the back before storage. This one can be stored without having to pick up the keyboard and fold down the legs.
For me, this is a genuine 5 star product. I've only had it a month, but so far I have zero negatives,

I needed a keyboard w/ soft touch keys. This one has those. The backlit keys are also nice and work when it's charged. It's wireless but has a cable that attaches to the USB port to keep/recharge the unit but works w/o it. You can turn off the keyboard when not using it to preserve the battery.
All in all I find this keyboard worth the money.

I love this keyboard. It has a good feel and it senses when you hands are near to turn on the backlit keys. It is rechargeable and the charge last for a couple of weeks. I also like the fact that it uses the universal wireless so that I only have one usb port for the receiver for both my keyboard and my mouse.

Typing on as we speak. Keys are not too soft, not too clicky. Love the wireless and illuminated aspects. Been using for several weeks and have yet to need to recharge the battery.

I needed to replace my wireless keyboard because it was failing. I was intrigued by the fact that this one is illuminated. I was a little concerned about battery life. It has a rechargeable battery via mini USB. But it seems to last weeks between charge and charges in a few hours. The illumination is very intuitive. If you click on a box with your mouse, the lights come on inanticipation of a need to fill that box. The lights come on if you pick up the keyboard or even tap on it. So far it is great. Setup was painless.

Better than 12 years back, I went wireless for all my Keyboards and Mice. Many developed problems after the first year of use or demanded frequent battery changes. I am a heavy user of multiple screen computers often operating 3 or 4 simultaneously for 6 or more hours a day. I like the lighted display feature of this keyboard as I type into the day and the sun goes down. I don’t have to loose concentration to turn on room lights. I also like the chargeable battery feature. A full charge lasts a very long time. Finally, I like the tactile feel and response of the keys as I type.

I bought this keyboard to replace a previous one by Logitech that had already lasted 4-5 years of heavy use. I chose the K800 for the backlit keys and integrated number pad. The charge on it lasts for a few weeks - which is fantastic. If I had any complaint, it would be that the Previous, Play/Pause, and Next hotkeys don't seem to work with Google Chrome and streaming music (which I do all day). The management application works pretty well, but it lacks configuration options for a number of hotkeys. Regardless, I highly recommend it.

This is my second K800. Bought the first several years ago to use with my Laptop PC. Unfortunately, I was careless when storing it one day, and broke the mechanism for one of the keys, so the top of my 'F' key keeps popping off. Still usable though. Thus the second purchase.
One of the few cordless keyboards with illuminated keys. Has unifying receiver, so can also pair a Logitech mouse and only consume 1 USB port. Recently got a smart TV, and can plug the dongle for this keyboard/mouse combo into the TV's USB port and use them for some TV functions; web browser and app navigation, for instance. Also use it with my Seam Link, and a Linux-based HTPC. Just move the dongle to the device I am current using, giving me a 10-foot interface my living room entertainment/gaming system. Included rechargeable battery holds charge for a long time. Key illumination has a proximity sensor that turns the lighting on when a hand approaches, then it turns off after a few seconds when hand is removed. This greatly extends battery life. Also has a handy indicator to show state of charge, along with special function keys. I definitely recommend to others and may buy yet another for a spare - no telling how long Logitech will keep making this handy cordless keyboard with illuminated keys.

Very impressed. Spent way less money for several wireless keyboards, each time thinking that there couldn't really be that much of difference. I was wrong! At $69.00 this is an incredibly good deal. The keys have nice resistance and excellent spring-back. The illumination is a super nice touch, and it can sense your hand movement to turn itself on! But the thing I am still trying to get used to, after charging, it will last 3, 4 or more days before needing to plug it in! I absolutely love it! If you like the feel of wired keyboard but need wireless, this is an excellent choice!

I love this keyboard! It really is great. I was a little concerned with paying full price for it but it has been worth it, no regrets. I have had it about a month and only have had to charge it once. It does come with a lot of cords for it to be a wireless keyboard but once you hook it all up and figure out what they are all for it does make sense. The location of some of the keys are a little off but you get used to it the more you use it (as with any new laptop or keyboard). This may sound funny (I thought so while reading the other reviews before purchase), but it is nice to type on. I am not sure what it is that makes it so nice but it is, maybe the softness of hitting the keys?
The keys are quiet and the backlight is great. It is just as advertised, you can turn it off to preserve the battery life and if you forget, the light goes off and then comes back on when it senses your hands nearby.
When the time comes for a new wireless mouse I will probably check out the Logitech one that is Bluetooth compatible with this keyboard.

You will not be disappointed if you buy this Logitech K800 Illuminated Wireless Keyboard! It's an excellent product!! I sometimes type in low-light conditions and this illuminated keyboard is great for me to be able to see the keyboard/keys. The keyboard key lighting comes on automatically when you put your hands near the keyboard to type and goes off soon after removing your hands (to save power). The keyboard has a rechargeable battery and you can just plug it into a USB port on your computer to recharge it while using the keyboard at the same time. On a side note, the keyboard stays lit if it is plugged in if you want the keyboard lights to stay on the entire time. Another great feature is that this wireless keyboard comes with a Unifying receiver. A Unifying receiver (the small piece that plugs into a USB port to receive the wireless signals) can tie in other Logitech wireless devices. So I was able to tie in my Logitech M310 wireless mouse with the K800 keyboard Unifying receiver (so the mouse and keyboard used the same wireless receiver). That freed up a USB port for me to plug in my scanner. I definitely recommend you buy this Logitech K800 keyboard!

This is my third one and I buy it again with zero hesitation. The backlight feature is great - especially since the key's character is lit not just around the key. The on/off switch is very handy and it recharges quickly when needed. It can take a spill or two and if you let it dry out it keeps on ticking. Just keep the sticky drinks away or eventually they start to stick. (Nothing wrong with the keyboard, I just have cats who like to knock drinks over onto my keyboard)

I've tried many different keyboards over the years, but this is the one I keep coming back to. I currently have 3 of them, and for a single computer I think it's the best of the best.
It's full-sized and has all the keys you'd expect to find on a full-size keyboard. I think the only thing missing is an LED that lights up when the NumLock is on. Otherwise, very complete.
My oldest K800 is over 5 years old, never a problem, but the keys are starting to to feel worn. In particular, I can no longer feel the bumps on the J and F keys that aid in touch-typing, so I sometimes lose the home row now. My other two K800 keyboards are almost 3 years old and that problem has not developed on them yet.
The keyboard's backlighting illumination is very good, and that's one of the main features I like about this keyboard. The key press feel is pretty good (but not the best), and the keyboard is rechargeable so no need to replace batteries. I just plug in a charging cable every few weeks or so for a few hours to keep it working well.
I continue to check out new keyboards, but so far I still prefer the K800 over anything out there.
Still, despite being out for years, the only major feature missing is the ability to control multiple computers like some of the newer Logitech keyboards (keyboards that otherwise are generally not as good as this one). So if controlling multiple computers with a single keyboard is not a requirement for you, then I think this is the best keyboard out there.

I'm In love with this Keyboard!

Goodbye old keyboard and hello Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. This has got to be the best keyboard I've used in recent years and I've been through countless Keyboards over the years. The Ergonomics of this keyboard design is Excellent! I am blown away at how comfortable it is to use and the factor of the whole thing is just so sleek; it almost look like the keyboard is floating on your desk. I haven't enjoyed typing like this in years. The feedback of the keys are responsive and my fingers just fly with each loud click coming from the keys.
Another thing I love about this keyboard is that the "FN" keys are just perfect for using. Thanks to the Illuminated keys (which I will get to in a minute.) The "FN" Keys light up a golden-yellowish making them easy to spot on the keyboard. Everything from playing music to opening up your E-mail and Searching Online for content are all there with a stroke of a key. Calculator key works on the fly to sitting beautiful on the right hand side and well lit.
The whole thing that brings this keyboard together is the Illuminated keys and more then likely this is what your buying the keyboard for. This is a flawless design! I can now type in the dark without disturbing other family members with the light on. The keys are nice and bright and you can set the brightens up and down with the "FN" keys F5 and F6. It doesn't matter what time it is in the day it makes the keys easy to see and blast away at typing. No more fading out letters on my old keyboard due to the light shining through them. At the top right side of the keyboard is a on and off switch so you can choose if you can have the light on or not. Logitech did a GOOD job on making this keyboard. Outstanding build quality.
It was easy to setup and its light weight so you can carry it around the room if you so choose. Battery life of this keyboard have been excellent lasting me longer then 21/2 weeks before recharging. it gives you a 3 bar indicator over the Mute key letting you know just how much battery life you have left. Tap the "FN" key with F7 to check your status of the battery. The USB recharging cord is somewhat short through.
Overall this well-lit keyboard is beautifully designed. It just feel like a very well designed wireless Illuminated keyboard. Something that's just so easy to use and I just can't stop giving good praises to it. This is a must buy especially if you have a hard time typing in the dark. its worth the price. My girlfriend also loves this thing and I may buy another one for her. This is a product I will always recommended to others.

I'm loving this keyboard. Battery life is several months after a full charge. I've had no issues with connectivity or running multiple Logitech gadgets off the one dongle. The backlight makes typing in a darkened room a breeze. I've only rarely noticed any delay's between key presses and seeing the result onscreen, usually when the battery's low. Mind you, it might not suit your needs if you play twitch multiplayer games though it's done just fine on the single player games I have.

I love this keyboard. The backlight feature is great and allows me to use the keyboard without turning on many, if any, lights in my office. The batteries last a long time and and the fact that it is rechargeable from USB is great. No need to worry about batteries. And you can use the keyboard while it is recharging. I was going to get the Solar Powered Keyboard but saw this one and it is so much better. This is easily the best computer accessory I have purchased in a long time.
