PROs: - If you're coming from another vertical mouse, you'll find this one pretty comfortable to hold--the soft-touch plastic and nautilus shell finish around the curved trailing surfaces is really quite pleasing in the hand - Very responsive to minimal input with DPI settings at/near max--easy to limit wrist movements via software settings in Logitech Options app - Deep customization options for thumb/click-wheel buttons--you have a variety of pre-programmed shortcuts and actions you can execute - Quick and easy connection to Logitech's wireless unifying receiver--I already had one installed for my current mouse (MX Ergo Trackball) and it was online within seconds of powering up--adding the device via the software "Add Device" button allowed for customization of button shortcuts and DPI settings. - Takes some getting used to but definitely can aid in reducing wrist strain if you have your work area set up properly - Incredibly fluid and responsive left/right click buttons--minimal effort and button travel required for a click but the mechanical switch still provided some solid haptic feedback that the "click" was registered - Extremely light weight...between the adjustable DPI and minimal physical effort required to move the mouse around, the MX Vertical provides some of the most responsive mousing I've experienced in similar products to date - Center wheel scrolling was effortless with reassuring detents in the scroll action itself (i.e. the wheel is not totally loose and free spinning) CONs: - I don't have huge hands, but I typically wear a large or extra large in men's gloves...that said, I found the thumb rocker button to be too far away to use easily or rapidly, especially the button farthest to the front. In the "resting" or "standard grip" position on this mouse, I could not activate that front-most button with the tip of my thumb. Instead, I had to reorient my hand on the mouse by moving my palm closer to the rounded/sculpted back side so that my thumb had greater reach...but this routinely resulted in an errant left-mouse click because my pointer finger was then hanging over the front edge of the mouse button - I found that I needed a large portion of my forearm supported by my desk or the pain in my wrist was even greater than using a regular mouse because instead of resting my entire wrist on the desktop, I was resting just the side - The middle scroll wheel button required a lot of pressure to activate the switch underneath...due to the light weight and vertical orientation of the mouse, a middle click action would also routinely move the cursor to the left without conscious effort to hold the mouse in place - The left and right mouse buttons are predominantly flat...they don't quite match the curvature of the fingers when the arm is extended in the "natural handshake" position as touted by the MX's advertising/product brief...whether this is something that bothers you or not is a matter of personal taste. It bothered me because I don't extend my fingers out straight when I rest my hand on a mouse...as a result, I ended up sort of "clawing" into the mouse buttons at their ends with my fingertips rather than pressing down with the underside of my digits because my fingers didn't rest reassuringly or comfortably across the surface of the buttons I came to this mouse having used two other vertical mice and Logitech's own MX Ergo vertical trackball so my adjustment to the sensation of vertical mousing wasn't as jarring as it probably would be for someone coming straight off a traditional horizontal mouse. But make no mistake, if you have discomfort mousing with a traditional, horizontal mouse, going vertical MAY provide you some relief. However, it's important to consider the ergonomics of your desk/workspace as much as it is the mouse itself. If you tend to keep your mouse near the edge of your desk, you might find this experience a painful one because you're going to end up putting more pressure on an even smaller part of your wrist as you bend it sideways over the edge of your desk. I found the most comfort came by supporting a good deal of my lower wrist/forearm on the desktop and using the maximum DPI settings to help limit the amount of movement required to move the cursor around the screen. From a usability standpoint, this mouse was a mixed bag--or at least it was for me. Functionality and ease of use (especially the software) is top notch as I've come to expect from Logitech--it connected via wireless dongle quickly, was configurable via a simple and very easy-to-navigate program interface, and instantly got me mousing with little effort or overhead. Although I already had Logitech Options on my PC thanks to my existing trackball mouse (the MX Vertical was added seamlessly to the program, I might add), I uninstalled and re-installed the software just to get a sense of what it would take to add and configure the device from scratch. Setup was again speedy and trouble-free; it honestly look longer to download the installer than it did to get the mouse online and properly configured. But once I started mousing, I knew this wouldn't be for me...or at least, I couldn't use some of the customizations in the software that otherwise make this an attractive productivity tool and not just a mouse in a different form. Physically, the mouse really is comfortable to grip/hold in the hand; but as mentioned above, the thumb buttons were placed just slightly too far out of reach to engage quickly and routinely without having to lift and move my hand, and the center wheel button was too hard to activate without pushing the mouse around in the meantime. Because the fit and feel is likely going to be SO personal, I strongly encourage you not only audition the mouse in your own hand to judge the comfort level, but also in your own workspace...at least in my case, I needed to clear out enough room to ensure I wasn't creating more problems than I hoped to solve.

This mouse is a very nice upgrade from a basic mouse. It is very comfortable to use and provides a noticeable improvement in tracking and control. COMFORT: The shape of this mouse is so different from that of a traditional mouse that I had to look at it from a few different angles. But after I used it, I appreciated the ergonomic design. The shape really reduces stress on the wrist. SETUP: I tested this device in wired and wireless mode and found both settings to be very easy to setup. I used it in wired mode first to charge the mouse while I used it. As soon as I plugged it in using the provided USB C cord, my computer immediately recognized it and configured it via plug and play. I then plugged the unifying receiver into my computer and it was immediately recognized and configured via plug and play. After the easy initial setup both modes worked flawlessly. USE: I really like the layout of the buttons. They are easy to reach and logically placed. In addition to the traditional right and left click buttons, there are also back and forward buttons on the left side of the device. The optics of this mouse are so precise, that I would rate it as near perfect. The scroll wheel is so smooth and precise that I would also rate it as perfect as well. If you are using a basic mouse, you are going to immediately notice the improvement in tracking and control. All of the buttons are configurable via an App. But I found the default configuration to be optimal for me, and left the settings as is. On the top of the mouse is a tracking speed adjustment button that cycles through a few different speeds every time you press the button. I choose the medium tracking speed option. BATTERY AND CHRAGING: The battery is rated at lasting nearly four months on a full charge. I have been using this device for a few days now, and can report that after a few days of heavy usage is still going strong so I fully expect it to last as long it is rated. I also like that it uses USB C which charges much faster then the older USB interface. VERDICT: This mouse combines premium design and control in an ergonomic package. Not only is the improvement in tracking and control noticeable, but it also puts much less stress on the wrist. The intelligent button layout makes using your computer much more efficient. Helpful Tips: The power switch is located on the underside of the mouse.

I use my mouse for about 8 to 10 hours a day at work. I find my fingers always twitching over the mouse buttons. My wrist has a strain on it from using the mouse for so long. So for after using this Logitech it has an smoother feel and i have to say it is very comfortable feel to it. Now i can give you all the spec of the mouse the design you may not want to read the box so i will list it here. Natural Handshake Position 57 deg angle 4x less hand movement Comfort form textured surface Logitech flow and easy switch technology Battery last on a full charge 4 months and on a 1 minute charge it will last 3 hours very impressive. 3 Ways to connect it Bluetooth USB-C Charging cable a USB Receiver. After using the mouse i have found that i don't have to move the mouse all over my mouse pad. It will take sometime to get use to the tall mouse then a traditional mouse i have knocked it over a couple of time reaching around my desk. But that's not a big deal. The buttons are easy to get use to and i kinda like the position of the the mouse wheel. This mouse feels great and is easy to use. It does have a cool look to it everyone at work wants to try it out.

This takes some getting used to, but it does feel better throughout the day, especially if you're working at an office job. Using the Logitech Options software, you can customize virtually any aspect of the mouse. It feels good to move during the day, but it is somewhat of a different feel than a typical mouse. Mostly due to keeping your hand at a different angle than you're typically used to. My only real complaint is that the wheel scroll doesn't quite work like other Logitech Mice (like the MX Master 2S). With the MX Master 2S, you could flick the wheel and it would scroll the page as far as the wheel rolled, then automatically snap back to a more precise scrolling once the momentum of the wheel slowed down. I really wish this mouse had that as well. Other than than, the precision and ergonomics of this mouse make it very much worthwhile. It's also a nice-looking piece of tech, that doesn't look or feel cheap in any way. The top button that allows the quick changing of speeds (which can be customized as well) is very useful too. Pros: Highly customizable, nice feeling, great ergonomics Cons: Takes getting used to, no auto scroll wheel switching

I work at home and easily spend at my computer 14-15 hours a day. I was having some pain in my right wrist sometimes (not permanent) after a long work weeks, however after trying this Logitech vertical mouse - my pain is gone! It was a little learning curve to adjust to the new design (had troubles with the right button clicks at the beginning), but after a week - I'd say I can freely use it. Mouse is nicely designed with a grippy rubbery surface to grab on, it's very lightweight - just 4.4oz and easy to control. Mouse does have 3 programmable buttons which can be assigned to many functions if you install Logitech Options software, however comparing to Logitech MX Master 2S for example - Vertical mouse lacks horizontal scrolling and inertia wheel (main scrolling wheel on the MX Master 2S can be set to scroll freely as long as wheel is spinning). Vertical mouse has USB-C port for charging and internal battery lasts for a full work week. Ability to work with 3 different computers via either Logitech radio dongle or just a bluetooth connection is awesome! Overall - if you having any odd feeling in your wrist - try this mouse, It's very likely it will help!

The M1 Macs were released in November of 2020. In February of 2022, they STILL have not released a software update to make their mouses fully compatible. This means that key features of the mouse do not work reliability. AVOID until their is software support for these premium prices products.

Hello theduck, Very sorry to hear that you're still unable to use the key features of the MX Vertical mouse on your M1 Mac. If you haven't done so already, please download Logitech Firmware Update Tool and Logitech Options software. This will help keep your firmware up to date on your MX Vertical. Pros: * Comfortable hand position. * Compatible with Unifying receiver and Bluetooth. * Compatible with Options settings software. * Long-life rechargeable battery. * USB-C charging or wired connection with provided cable. * Attractive design. Cons: * Takes a bit of getting used to. * The Back/Forward button is a bit of a stretch for my smaller hand. * Right-handed use only might be more uncomfortable for left-handed users. I don’t (yet) have any wrist issues that prevent me from using a “normal” mouse, but figured it would be best to avoid them nonetheless. My normal mouse is a Logitech MX Master 2S and I really like the features and functions of it. The MX Vertical is a closely-related sibling in that it has similar connectivity and uses the same Logitech Options software for settings. This mouse can connect wirelessly to either the provided Logitech Unifying dongle or to Bluetooth and can store 3 separate connections that you can toggle between with a simple button on the bottom. You can also use the provided recharging cable to connect the mouse with wired USB instead of wireless. The built-in rechargeable battery seems to last forever, but when you’re ready for a recharge, the mouse has a USB-C port instead of the now-antiquated MicroUSB - no more tri-state connection. It also comes with the necessary cable just in case you need one. The hand position is really comfortable in what they refer to as a “handshake” orientation, but t does take a bit of getting used to. Normally, you’d angle your wrist left/right to position the cursor preceisely but with this mouse it’s more of an up/down motion of your wrist. Not bad - just different. There are the usual left/right click mouse buttons and a nicely-weighted scroll wheel as you’d expect. In addition, there’s a long bar by your thumb that’s defaulted to back/forward, and a button on top to toggle between two pointer speeds so you can have a faster speed for gross pointer positioning and a slower speed for more precise positioning. Overall, this is a well-built, comfortable mouse that hopefully will prevent a lot of wrist-related injuries by rotating your mousing hand to a more natural position. Keep in mind that this is a right-hand mouse only. By the way, the box has a neat cut-out so you can try it on for size and shape without taking anything out of the box - a nice touch!

I've used this mouse for about 4 or 5 days now and I had to make a conscious effort not to go back to my Logitech MX-910. Initially I had to get used to the larger footprint and placement of the right and left buttons, but after about a day or so of use, I really started to like this device. The fact that its ergonomic is great, but the best feature for me is being able to drag and drop between my desktop, MacBook and HP laptop, seamlessly. This is where this mouse really benefits me. You can make all kinds of adjustments to the DPI, drag speed and cursor speed after downloading the software. It is a bit awkward looking, but given the fact that I'm on my computer at work for 8-10 hours per day, I will take the benefits over the appearance. If you decide to try this mouse, make an effort to use it exclusively for a few days so that you can get used to it. For me, I wasn't sold on it at first use, but am now convinced. Logitech has been making some great products lately. I have the Craft keyboard which is by far the best keyboard I've used and now with this mouse make a perfect pair.

I’m a software engineer spending 10+ hours a day at my desk. I ignored the MX Vertical for a long time because it looked "gimmicky." After a month of wrist fatigue that was starting to radiate up my forearm, I finally swapped my standard MX Master for this. Here is the unfiltered reality: The "Handshake" Position Works: Most mice force your forearm to "pronate" (twist flat), which puts constant tension on the tendons. The 57-degree vertical angle keeps your hand in a natural handshake position. Within three days, the dull ache in my wrist was 90% gone. The Learning Curve is Short: I expected to be clumsy for weeks. It took about four hours of active use to get my precision back. If you do CAD or high-detail Photoshop work, don't worry—the 4000 DPI sensor is plenty accurate. Multi-Device Mastery (Logi Options+): The ability to jump between my MacBook and my PC build with the button on the bottom is flawless. I use "Logitech Flow" to drag files from one screen to the other across different OS environments. It feels like magic. Battery Life is Relentless: I’ve had this for two months, and I’ve charged it once. USB-C charging means I don’t have to hunt for AA batteries like it’s 2005. One Warning: If you have very small hands, this mouse is a "large" build. But for average to large hands, it’s the most important ergonomic investment you can make. It’s not a "cool-looking" accessory; it’s preventative medicine for your joints.

Wowie! I’ve been trying to figure out how no one has thought of this mouse form factor before. Trackballs have fallen out of favor in recent years but this seems like an amazing replacement for ergonomics with no compromise. Inside the box you will find the basics. The mouse, basic documentation, the Logitech unifying receiver and a USB-C cable. I am glad they made the switch to USB-C simply as it is more convenient with newer devices that might only have USB-C for charging. The cable is pretty much just for charging and nothing else as all other uses for the device will be wireless. Installation is simple with plug and play ability. I recommend you go to the Logitech site and download the “Logitech Options” software as it will enable full functionality and customization for your device. The basic buttons on the mouse are the usual left, right buttons and scroll wheel. You will also find a forward/backward button near the thumb and on top there is a DPI button which is nothing new. What is new about this DPI button is that you have much more control over it if you download the software. You could simply press it and change the DPI setting like many mice with the feature or your can hold it down and drag left/right to fine tune to a level of your liking. This feature is pure genius if you ask me since it enable the perfect setting for each user or maximum efficiency. Getting used to the device takes a few minutes since we have all been trained to hold a mouse different our whole lives. At first it feels unnatural and less accurate. Give it a shot for a bit and you will realize it is much more natural / neutral for your hands and you will even see it is more accurate once you find a DPI setting that works for you. What I was impressed with is that in this position you will move your hand and arm much less than with a traditional mouse. I think this is partly due to the DPI adjustments but also due to the position keeping your hand in a position where you can maximize the position of the mouse without moving many joints. It is a minor difference but enough to make a difference if you spend a lot of time on a computer and get any bone pain. My only complaint or suggestion is that I recommend you use it with a mouse pad that has a wrist rest. It is overall more comfortable but the position puts your wrist bone in contact with the desk so some padding in the mouse pad fixes that problem. That was my only change I would make and I do not feel it is enough to take away any points. I work in front of a computer most of my day and this changes my workflow in a positive way, I also tried it for some shooter and strategy games and found that once you get used to it, it is just as good as a gaming mouse unless you need lots of extra buttons. Two thumbs up!

This was my first attempt at using an ergonomic mouse, and may be my last. This mouse is very well made, soft to the touch and responsive. I just found it odd to use. I tried it out at work for about 3 days before switching back to my regular mouse. At first it took me forever to do everything because I had to get used to the different shape and learn how to use it properly... that took maybe an hour of constant use. Once I was acclimated to it using it was a breeze, but I still wanted my old mouse back. It is supposed to help with arm and even shoulder pain, which I suffer from, so I pressed on and decided to give it more time. I must say that more time really did nothing to change my mind. Maybe it was the way my desk situation is set up at work but I found no relief in my shoulder/neck pain and at one point even thought it may have made it worse. It was also weird because in Fishbowl, the system we use at my job, I had a hard time clicking on the links. I would be lined up over it and click the mouse but it wouldn't work, even with multiple clicks. And I'd end up moving the curser slightly if I clicked too much. That never happened with a traditional mouse, and only seemed to happen in Fishbowl, weird! I still gave this item 4 stars because it is well made, well thought out, and others will probably thoroughly enjoy it. A co-worker who has been wanting an ergonomic mouse tried it out at his desk, which is in the lab, and he found it to be very comfortable and had no gripes at all. So there you go. I am going to give it another try here at home and see how it goes. I would definitely recommend to someone looking for this kind of mouse.

Logitech - MX Vertical Wireless Optical Mouse is a huge upgrade from a basic mouse. Setup is quick and easy. There are three ways to connect this mouse to PC. It can be connected via included USB-C charging cable, Logitech Unifying receiver, or Bluetooth. I have plugged in Logitech unifying receiver and connected without any issues. I was impressed immediately with design and comfort of using this mouse. It is perfect for continuous use and shape of the mouse is really good for hand. Thanks to the excellent ergonomic design. The layout of the buttons are really good and perfectly placed. The optics of the mouse is so accurate and very easy to navigate. All of the buttons can be configured via app. The battery is rated close 4 months of use for full charge. There are lot of key features in this mouse. Natural handshake position and it reduces muscular strain by 10% compared to regular mouse and more ergonomic posture for your hand, wrist and forearm. The unique vertical angle reduces wrist pressure while the thumb rest keeps your thumb and hand in a very comfortable position. The advanced 4000 DPI sensor gives high precision tracking with far less hand movement. It is shaped very well for hands for smooth touch with solid natural grip. I am using two computer monitors at office and Logitech flow and easy switch technology is super helpful to move the cursor across the screens. I am using this mouse for few days in office and at home. It is night and day difference with standard mouse. I highly recommend this mouse to everyone due to advanced ergonomic design.

A trackball mouse became my favorite after experiencing shoulder & neck pain from moving a scroll only mouse. Now I have De Quervain’s tendonitis (thumb pain) so decided to try this vertical mouse. My thumb is still healing so can't really write about the ergonomic benefit other than its less painful to use than my trackball at present time. The feel of the mouse has a nice non-slippery grip. The angle was comfortable to my hand. I do not use the forward/back buttons as they are a bit awkward for my thumb at present time. Most movement is now in my wrist with some from my shoulder. This mouse is REALLY lightweight. I use a keyboard/mouse pull out drawer and keep knocking it off accidentally after I reach up to retrieve papers from my desk. I also have to remember to move it to the top of my desk before I move the drawer back under the desk as its too tall to fit without being knocked off. A nice feature I hadn't realized is it has a button on bottom to connect to 3 different bluetooth devices. I set up one for my desktop, another for my laptop, and the 3rd for my tablet. I knew it mentioned connecting using bluetooth, USB receiver, and charging cable, just hadn't realized it also had these extra two bluetooth connections. I don't have a Logitech keyboard so don't use its FLOW unifying feature. I was unsuccessful in accessing Logitech Options to customize the mouse nor do I see any difference when clicking the cursor speed switch. Overall its a nice mouse, albeit expensive.

Logitech bills this as an ergonomic mouse that reduces wrist strain, and I’ve been interested in testing this ever since they first announced it. Now that I’ve had several days with it, I’m really happy to report it’s a mostly great experience. PROS: -This mouse might actually reduce wrist strain. The angle your hand rests in the mouse almost forces you to move it with your shoulder and elbows. Its large size actually deters you from using your wrist – it makes flexing or extending it feel unnaturally cumbersome. -The learning curve for tilting your hand sideways is actually not that hard to get used to at all. It took me about ten minutes to feel entirely at home, and my coworkers have similarly tried it without issues. -Latency is more than adequate for non-gaming use. I work in a field where we often have to make fine maneuvers and the mouse is responsive and accurate. I appreciated the out of the box calibration of the mouse, which doesn’t require large sweeping movements of the shoulder/elbow combo to travel large distances. -Logitech Options, specifically its flow function, allowing the mouse to move seamlessly between up to three computers, is an excellent feature that I use all day to migrate my mouse between my personal and work computers. There’s a very slight amount of hesitation when switching but it’s far better than turning the mouse upside down and manually switching its connection. Logitech sells some mice that have this manual switcher toggle on the top of the mouse, but I think the elegance of this technology makes a topside location unnecessary. CONS: -Huge. This mouse is absolutely ridiculous. It is nice that it ships with Bluetooth functionality, but as you can see it nearly dwarfs my laptop – there is no way anyone would reasonably use this with anything other than a desktop computer. The wifi dongle is the way to go. It also has a wired connection for charging. -Because it’s so big, it might be difficult for some smaller hands to reach the forward/back and top button, which may rule it out for some buyers. You should really attempt to hold this mouse in store before buying it. -Build quality suffers slightly due to the very pronounced and visible seam on my unit (pictured) that distracts from the otherwise very clean and interesting design. -This is very much a mouse for a casual user in that there are relatively few buttons available to use and remap. Would I recommend it? It’s quite expensive. At $99, it’s definitely in the mid-range for a great mouse, and I’m unsure if the 10% reduction in wrist strain is worth the cost, especially since I never had a ton of wrist strain with normal mice. If your wrist feels fine and you just want a premium, comfortable mouse to use, then there are plenty of options that either feel more premium or are less expensive. However, when compared with other ergonomic mice from big name manufacturers, I think the Logitech MX vertical mouse fares nicely. If you are determined to improve the ergonomics of your entire workstation – keyboard, mouse, everything – and you already have one device from Logi that uses the Unifying Receiver, then this would be a great addition to that setup.

I bought this mouse to help out with some bad wrist pain I was having from excessive mouse usage. This has definitely helped in that regard. The mouse is high quality and pleasant to use. I found the learning curve transitioning from a traditional mouse to be really quick. I do think it's priced at more than what it's worth (blame Logitech, not Best Buy) but you can't put a price on your health. As any look at ergonomic keyboards/mice will tell you, the manufacturers know this, agree with that philosophy, and price their products accordingly. Side note, it also works almost flawlessly in Linux, but if you want to re-program the buttons there you'll need to use a program like xbindkeys, etc. The mouse doesn't have on-board memory so any changes you make to the button bindings won't persist if you move it to a new computer. The only button I wasn't able to program on Linux was the DPI button, although that can be configured with Logitech's software on Windows.
