Honestly a really convenient and low price compared to the one sold by apple. It’s really handy in times when I simply want to easily type and not have to use the screen keyboard. Super convenient and protecting! I would still recommend you get a glass screen protector for your ipad tho.

As a writer, the click-clad of a keyboard is very important to me and this one is so great to type on! It's also a great case for my iPad and I feel like it's safe and secure when I'm bringing it anywhere. It also holds my Apple Pencil securely and conveniently. I'm so glad I found this for my iPad!

Great protective keyboard case for your iPad 10th

The first thing you have to do when you get a new tablet is to get some accessories! This could include a screen protector and case, but it could also mean a keyboard case if you plan to use your tablet for anything more than just content consumption (not that there's anything wrong w/that!). There are, of course, options directly from Apple like their great Magic Keyboard. Unfortunately, it also happens to be way more expensive than any other choices on the market! Logitech has made accessories and peripherals for a long time, so I was excited to get their new Slim Folio (for iPad 10th generation) for testing. In this house of PCs and Android tablets, an iPad is really more for content consumption (like Apple TV+). We have plenty of great keyboards (Thinkpads, Thinkpad Bluetooth/2.4ghz, custom mechanical keyboards, etc.) for our devices but never needed one for our iPads. Overview ============= Upon opening the box, you can tell this is NOT a sleek, slim "barely there" kind of case. It covers the tablet on all sides outside of cutouts for the ports, speakers, and buttons. I'd categorize this as a "good thing" since you want your expensive tablet protected! It's soft to the touch, yet feels sturdy enough to protect your tablet from any little ones in the house or any small bumps. There's a small loop on the outside to hold your Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon. Unfortunately, I don't have one (yet?) but I assume it would fit just fine. Fit and pairing ============= Obviously this fits like a glove - Logitech knows a thing or two about making cases. The interior plastic where the tablet "clicks" in is stronger and firmer than the soft-touch feel of the outside and you can tell the tablet is held in firmly. The tablet magnetically attaches to a nice angle for using the included keyboard which we'll discuss in the next section. At the top of the keyboard section (before putting the iPad into the proper typing position) you'll see a clear plastic tab. Pulling that out will allow the batteries to be connected and the keyboard will be ready for pairing. Keyboard and typing =================== Pairing is a non-event, as expected. Once you remove the battery protection tab, you'll see a light blinking on the right side of the keyboard. It's ready to pair! Go to your "Settings > Bluetooth" and you'll find the Slim Folio. Select it and type the 6-digit code on the screen and you're ready to go! It took way longer to type the process than you'd actually take to pair it yourself. Typing - I don't have massive hands, so even though it's a cramped layout, it feels spacious enough. Obviously the entire keyboard deck needs to fit into the area covered by the tablet so some size compromises had to be made compared to your 15" laptop. Shallow - these keys are shallow - a bit of a surprise given the thickness of the case. If you're used to a full-sized keyboard (much less a nice tactile/clicky mechanical), dispel some notions now, because this has a very shallow keypress depth. Are you a Thinkpad keyboard fan? You might not like this... However, if you're adaptable, I think it's something you can adjust to quickly. I'm typically well into the 100-120 wpm range while typing on my desktop or a Thinkpad, but after a quick 10 minute test, I couldn't break 70wpm on this thing. But you know what? That's probably fine. #1 I just got the thing so I'm sure I could adjust. Secondly, I don't think you should aspire to write the next great American novel on this device. The fact that this keyboard is attached to your iPad is probably more for searching while web browsing, entering your logins/passwords, or chatting. Overall/Verdict ================ As much as I love my "nice" keyboards, I realize you can't take a fancy split mech keyboard with loud, clicky blue switches everywhere you go. Tablet keyboards have their place and I think this is a great option for those that don't want to spend extra for the Apple Magic keyboard. This is a "better than usable" keyboard for your tablet while you're out and about and I think for that purpose, it's great. I bet the more you use the keyboard, the fast you'll get used to the shallow keypresses. The only "con" I can think of is that it uses a non-rechargeable battery (or no batteries like some that connect via pogo pins) so you'll have to eventually replace them. I'd say stock up now, but the Slim Folio is supposed to have a 3 year lifespan! I can't attest to that longevity yet, but if that's true, that makes the annoyance of changing batteries almost a non-issue.

Finicky but a handy accessory for an iPad

This keyboard capitalizes on the “it just works” philosophy of Apple products and this is both to its benefit and detriment. On the one hand, the idea of the keyboard “automagically” turning on when an iPad is inserted and the keyboard is raised into the typing position is a very cool idea - but when the keyboard doesn’t power on automatically (due to being improperly seated in the case), not having a way to manually power the keyboard on can be a bit frustrating. Ultimately I did realize I had inserted it upside down somehow so that is entirely user error, but I do wish there was a power button on the keyboard. Similarly, the keyboard lacks a rechargeable battery, and although the manual advises the included ones should last a couple of years, it does feel a tad wasteful in 2022 - soon to be 2023 - to be using disposable batteries when rechargeable ones have been the norm for years, especially in higher end devices like this one. All that being said, it is pleasant to type on and the included pencil loop is a very appreciated touch. The case when closed is neat and attractive and while I wouldn’t say it’s particularly protective, it makes for a lightweight and convenient way to cart around your iPad, pencil, and a keyboard all at once. If the aforementioned pitfalls don’t bother you, and the convenience is a significant boon, then I’d highly recommend this keyboard particularly for the more on-the-go typist - students, professionals, etc.

If your looking to use a robust case with an external laptop like keyboard without a trackpad this is the one for you. I was back and forth between this one and Logitech's other case that also has the trackpad on the keyboard part. For me i didn't really end up using that touchpad as it was fairly small so if your cross shopping those two (slim folio and rugged folio) keep that in mind. The feel of the keyboard is actually very similar to a laptop and its hard to believe that its just a case sometimes. This one does not use the new smart connector on the 10th gen iPad and instead uses Bluetooth which is just fine as it means the keyboard can be part of the case and not be detachable. It is a hard shell case with a nice grey color that doesn't show finger prints or smudging which is nice. It has a loop for the apple pencil or crayon etc. on the outside which i would have preferred to be on the inside instead but it works well enough. Its still slim enough to not feel like your carrying around a tank for a case which is what i also didn't like about the rugged folio one. The dedicated function row is super nice to have those features at the tap of a button rather than going through the menu its very reminiscent of just using a small laptop which is just intuitive and feels good.

I love this case! I have the rugged folio and the rugged folio slim, and I find myself going back to the slim more often then any other case, as well as the "regular" rugged folio. Let's just get some of the features out of the way that sets this guy up apart from the competition: 3 year battery life from 2 coin batteries, does not draw your ipad power away. Large clicky separate keys and not the "mushy" single layer silicone keys that some other cases have. Slim profile with the ipad magnetic docking forwards towards you instead of away from you. Rugged outer frame with the machine precision ventilation holes, as well as accurate openings for power/volume control (see pictures) Rugged frame but easy to snap on and snap off. The snappy bluetooth technology utilized by Logitech that makes the keyboard feel instantaneous. Thoughtful reliable snug home for your apple pencil. I've used alot of cases over the years, I have over 2 dozen cases, everyone of them have pros and cons. I find myself using more of logitech cases over the years and clearly they have tons of experience to making this near perfect case. The magnetic docking for the ipad as well as the magnetic cover feels like quality and almost invisibly transforms your ipad to a mini computer. The Folio standard has a wrist pad, but to be honest I don't miss it when I'm taking my ipad around. The Folio slim with the smaller profile allows me to work on shorter tables, such as the small table on an airplane for example. The only thing I couldn't test is if the batteries actually last for 3 years (obvious since this just came out). I suspect because the keys don't have the back light, it helps to achieve this feat. In my opinion, this is a no contest. 10/10 case. Exactly matches the identity of the Ipad. Small, functional, portable, secure.

I recently purchased an iPad keyboard for $80, and overall, it has proven to be a decent addition to my mobile workstation. One of its standout features is its lightweight design, making it easy to carry around and ideal for on-the-go productivity. Typing on the keyboard is a pleasant experience, with responsive keys that offer a satisfying tactile feedback. The layout is intuitive, and it enhances my overall typing speed and accuracy on the iPad. The compact size complements the portability of the iPad, making it a practical choice for those who need to work or type on the move. However, the keyboard does have its drawbacks. One of the notable issues is the occasional difficulty in connecting the iPad to the keyboard. While the connection issue doesn't happen frequently, it can be frustrating when it does, disrupting the seamless workflow. Another aspect that might deter some users is the reliance on batteries instead of being rechargeable. While the battery life is satisfactory, the inconvenience arises when it's time to replace the batteries. Removing the batteries can be a bit of a hassle, requiring more effort than expected. This non-rechargeable feature may not be the most environmentally friendly option and might be a consideration for those looking for a more sustainable choice. In conclusion, this iPad keyboard gets the job done and serves its purpose well. Its lightweight and portable design, coupled with a comfortable typing experience, make it a decent option for users on the move. However, the occasional connectivity issues and the use of batteries instead of a rechargeable system may be potential drawbacks for some users. If you're looking for a perfect solution, this might not be it, but for its price point of $80, it's a reasonable compromise for functionality and convenience.

Really works as described. I would rate the overall protection of the the iPad extremely high and the keyboard works well. My only negative is a personal experience issue. Getting the protection and keyboard functionality changes the iPad from an elegant design and feel to something heavy and clunky.

I have always considered important to protect my devices and more when it comes to products that are not cheap at all, in this case my ipad. One of the things that is currently used frequently is the keyboard but typing directly on the ipad is not always the most comfortable. Well this combination is possible in this case-keyboard that besides protecting your ipad has a compartment where you can place the apple pencil, also has a long lasting batteries that promise to last up to 3 years. The connection is very simple and the keyboard has shortcut buttons that I find very practical and useful, the material it is made of is plastic and is perceived at a glance, despite this it feels of good quality and seems to be a resistant material. It should be mentioned that due to the fact that the keyboard is part of the case and can not be removed, it looks a little bulky but considering that the ipad will be very well protected I do not see a problem with it. On the performance side being honest it is one of the most comfortable keyboards for ipad I have tried, and I have other models of logitech also that of course are very good too, however I feel that the position of the keys, the size and thickness are sufficient for someone like me who has long fingers and sometimes I press more keys by mistake, with this keyboard is not the case. In summary I find this case-keyboard is relatively inexpensive, easy to connect and protects very well the iPad as well as its excellent keyboard with very good shortcuts, a long battery life and an apple pencil holder. I can definitely recommend it.

If you are looking for a safe place to store your new iPad Pro 10th generation and want to save a few dollars and don't need a trackpad, then Logitech has the answer. I've been lucky enough to try a few cases in my lifetime. This one fits the bill perfectly. Logitech's case and keyboard provides great impact protection without encroaching on the iPad's screen, ports nor security fingerprint touch switch. As one expects, the pencil or crayon fits in a sleeve on the top cover. The camera slot doesn't obscure the camera lens nor LED flash light. The volume buttons are easy to get at too. What is really awesome is the kickstand when typing. The magic magnetic feature snaps the case in place. All the right control shortcut buttons are located on the top row followed by the numeric then alpha keys. The delete key was parked perfectly on the upper right outer row. Something others hide slightly inward which can be a pain. The bottom right corner has my favorite directional arrows for maneuvering around text. The feel of the keys is tactical without any obnoxious clickity click that makes your neighbor cringe. I love the key feel and placement. While no trackpad, it's not always needed since it is a touch screen. Low energy Bluetooth is powered by two (2) internal replaceable cell batteries. They should last around trhee (3) years. Easy to replace and not expensive either. There is a power and Bluetooth pairing button for ease of use and long battery life.

It works very well as a keyboard and protective case for the iPad. The loop for holding the Apple Pencil is a very nice feature. The fact that it is half the price of Apple cases is a bonus. The only minor flaw is when you try to fold it back and use the iPad for drawing or writing with the pencil. I haven't figured out how to make that a stable platform.

Apple has a similar case, but at a higher price. A third party suggested I try Logitech at Best Buy. The device itself is completely satisfactory, although I did have a little trouble installing and activating it because the included directions were vague in one respect. I went back to the same store and a Geek Squad member took care of it immediately. I am now totally satisfied.
