Took them back to the Geek Squad and they tried them with my tower and heard the same static so I returned them.

I am sorry that you didn't like the Z150 PC speakers. I suggest you try the Z200 speakers set. The Z200 has a little more kick to the sound for a similar price. I hope you find this information helpful.
