The sound is horrible. It has a high pitch tinny noise at all levels. Like the speaker is blown out or manufactured incorrectly. Also the main connector has 2 retention screws but one is missing threads. Quality control is definitely lacking here. Definitely not worth the time and money.

    Excellent Audio System

The Logitech z623 sound is amazing, I listen to mostly Trance and Electronica in general, but I can tell you everything sounds fantastic on it, I also own the z2300 which I have hooked up to my Samsung 3D TV and I can tell you that it falls slightly behind it in terms of bass, but just a little, and I would say the satellite speakers sound better than those in the z2300, I certainly do not regret buying it at all. And to the people saying the cables are short, people it's SOOOO easy to go buy one audio extension cable, they are less than $5 in any electronics store, you just need to buy the cable and an extender plug and that's it, cable length is an issue for me with my z2300 because of the way I have it set up with my TV and I just got one extension cables from Bestbuy. Get this today!

Very good set 2.1 setup for gaming and music

The Logitech Z623 2.1 speaker setup offers a very good experience overall. The headset and audio input right on the speaker is very convenient and the sound quality is very good excellent. If you are considering a Bose setup, save your money and consider this or the Klipsch product at half price and all of the performance. The one drawback is it is always nice to have plug style connectors going into the speakers instead of fixed wire, but Logitech has done a good job with this particular fixed wire. It is very sturdy and gives the impression that it will last over time. If you are putting this is a fixed spot on your desk, there should be no/very little wear and tear. The subwoofer handles music, movies, and gaming very well and can easily be controlled from the right speaker module. It's very easy to tone it down for music and throtlle it up for thunderous bass in gaming and movies.

    Overall, very good speakers

First off, the satellite speakers are larger that I thought they would be. Heavier and better built than what the image may apply. They actually are very loud and if I turn it more than a third up, it gets a bit too loud since they are computer speakers and not very far from you. The sound stage is very good and you feel the spacious sound imaging. Secondly, the sub woofer is smaller than I thought. But it packs a punch. It actually can go pretty low and does well. It does have a limit though so don't expect it to be a competition sub. However, it really is above par versus its competitors in the same price category. Overall, very good set and if you can grab a set on sale, do it.

    Great Logitech speakers

When I first opened the box I thought to my self that this bass is pretty big, but since it's a 130 watt sub with two 35 watt speakers. It got to be very nice. It turned out it was the best speakers I have ever bought and the price is really worth it. So if you like good shaking the house bass these are the computer speakers you would probably want to buy. Since its approved buy THX the audio is brilliant. Another nice thing about the speakers is that they have a bass, volume and power button built into the right speaker, so for example if your in your house if the bass is to high and the neighbors don't yell at you. you could turn the bass down.

    Perfection!

There is really no need to break the bank for an expensive home theater system because the Logitech Z623 will give you the same experience, but at a more affordable price. I will keep my review as brief as possible. When it comes to HTS or, in this case, speakers and subwoofers, I tend to look for 2 main attributes: bass and appearance. The bass level for this particular system is quite spectacular! I'm talking mega bass that bangs and booms, all while maintaining clear, crisp audio. And the hookup process is effortless. I connected my 73" flat screen television and PS3 to the subwoofer and boy was I blown away! I don't know how I've gone this long without audio replacement. As of this moment, I'm prepared to buy the same Logitech system again within this month! 20 stars if it were possible!

Piece of crap. Put in a new sound card in desktop thinking it would make the speakers work better--no such--one speaker doesn't project sound at all (all of a sudden) and both are plugged in.

I never thought I'd say this about a set of speakers, but there is just way too much bass. The sound just ends up muddy. If you try to adjust the subwoofer, it's either too much bass or hardly any at all. I've had good experience with other Logitech speakers, but really disappointed in these.

I bought a less expensive set from Logitech but it just didn't give me the sound I wanted for my home arcade. I traded up to these and WOW, soooooo good! Phenomenal bass and crisp sound. With 200w it cranks the audio and really has a nice overall balance for anything you'd push through it. 1 drawback is the 1 speaker connection is a serial connection, with a thick proprietary cable that isn't all that long (3-4 feet). Thus, I couldn't extend it with a traditional 3.5mm cable or RCA cable. The sound though....really well done Logitech!

    Excellent speakers

I bought these to replace a more expensive set of Klipsch 5.1 speakers for my office and I'm very happy with what you get for the price. The bass is maybe a bit less crisp than the Klipsch but is still very good. There is no noticeable hiss or distortion and the satellites sound surprisingly good. The Klipsch speakers I replaced had an annoying loud hum if left on when the computer was off, however the Logitech speakers are completely silent. I used a Kill-a-watt to measure power usage. It uses 1 watt when turned off, 5 watts when on but silent, and between 5 and 26 watts playing relatively bass heavy music at a volume level you would probably consider too loud for a small room (12' x 12'). I consider 5 watts low enough to just always leave it on and not have to worry about turning it off and on with each use. My only complaint would be that the cables for the satellite speakers are not long enough for a large desk. Not a big deal to get an extension for the speaker that uses an RCA jack, but the cable that goes to the speaker with the controls would be a lot harder to find an extension for. It would also help with speaker placement if there was a switch to flip which speakers are left and right. One other annoyance - there was no manual included.
