Dead Nearly Immediately - Headed to the Trash
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The speakers don't sound too bad for the price. However, I must have received a bad pair. After a few days of ownership, they'd only work if pressure was applied to the 15 pin connection on the sub-woofer. Since I don't really have time to get to go through the ordeal of sending them in for warranty repair, I opened them up with hopes of fixing what I assumed was a cold solder joint. I could not fix them since the components were not easily accessible and it's just a cheap, pre-fab board under the connector. I suppose I voided the warranty. Dissapointing. They will head to the garbage after just a few hours of use. So for me, the value of these is negative - a total loss (though I admit I did void the warranty by attempting to fix it myself). So, if you get a good pair, good - but I am suspicious of the Logitech quality control and would suggest looking elsewhere.

horrible mid-range, decent bass
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers have a powerful subwoofer, but are totally unfit for audiophiles or music lovers because they have a very weak mid-range output and the main satellite speakers sound like tinny, $30 speakers. They were so bad they made me dislike my own music collection. I even spent 45 minutes trying to compensate for the poor mid-range by playing around with a graphics equalizer, but this only had a slight effect on the speakers. I brought them back after 2 days (luckily best buy has a great return policy). And I occasionally heard a bit of distortion in the low-middle end of the output, even at only 30% of the volume.

If you're an audio-file DO NOT PURCHASE these!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a decent and powerful set of speakers for the most simple applications these would be great. Skype calls, chats, etc., all sound find. But play music or a movie you may be highly disappointed. This of course imop. Further there is no exclusive volume control for the sub-woofer. If you like the 'woof' in sub-woofer maybe these are for you. I record and play music, listen to music all day during work, and watch movies and game. For a discerning ear get the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. Same configuration but much better sound quality and control. I should have known better in the first place, but they did look pretty cool! Hands down though I do not personally recommend.

Sound is dynamic when it comes to low frequency!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product appears supper, but when it comes to mid range and high freqeuncies the speakers are at a loss to deliver, although the price is right, for what's offered.

Poor Sound versatility
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the past 4 months i've been saving up to finally afford these speakers. living paycheck to paycheck i finally had enough money to purchase them. when i get them i immediately hooked them up and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Sadly i was very disappointed my old Logitech X-240's sound better and hit harder than these things. not to mention this burning rubber smell that comes out of the sub even when the sub is turned all the way down. the smell is really noticeable when the sub is turned on at 50+%. When i turn the bass past 50% you can hear the sub woofer hitting the metal grill it comes with. On top of that the sub only hits hard on the lower bass notes. if you listen to rock or metal you'll forget that there's even a sub since it fails to produce bass. Also how are these things "THX" certified? movies sound terrible on these things. THX should be very embarrassed to slap their certification on such a terrible 2.1 system. im gonna return these and exchange them for the klipsch promedias. I really wanted to like these subs it was just impossible. they just don't sound right to me. If you listen to Rap/HipHop and thats all you plan on doing with these speakers than go ahead you won't be disappointed but if you want a versatile speaker system that sounds great with movies, and different kinds of music then these aren't for you.

Subwoofer WILL die
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are good when they actually work. I've had constant issues over the years with the subwoofer cutting out entirely, up until it finally died for good, as of recent. Logitech does not take pride in their products, and offered me zero solution, when contacting them about this. They basically told me, oh well, buy another set. $170 for product that only lasts a few years is not worth it. Will never purchase another Logitech product again.

Weak Subwoofer & Terrible Buzzing in One Speaker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this based on the price and great reviews. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience as most. Although I can live with the weaker subwoofer, I cannot deal with the irritating buzzing noise coming from one of the speakers. I'll most likely be sending these back. Disappointed! :-(

Posted .Hi Review, I'm sorry that your experience with the Z623 was not a good one. The buzzing sound could easily be caused by a bad or lose connection. I recommend checking all connections with all the wires. If there is no resolution there might have been a tweak or break during shipping. You could reach out to your retail of purchase and see if there is a resolution they can help you with. Thank you for being a Logitech customer. Kristi from Logitech

Crap Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this system about a year ago and when I first powered them up they only moderately OK. They have very weak amplification and even with the volume at full blast I can hardly hear them sometimes. How they ever got the THX rating is beyond me. Within 2 weeks of owning them the right speaker began buzzing and distorting terribly. I had an old Klipsch set that lasted me for over 10 years that I could crank up and play music and videos on this same computer/soundcard with no issues until it finally died. But these Logitech's are just crap. Don't waste your money and the Bose I tried were crap too, I returned those for these! I'm looking for a better system that can compare to the old Klipsch 2.1 Multimedia Speaker Systems.

Defective!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't know about the speakers but Best Buy sucks! Sent me a defective woofer with a looses input in the back-obviously someone else's return as there wasn't even an instruction manual return. Now you want me to waste more of my time lugging 40lbs of equipment to your store to get what I rightfully paid for already?? Never again, horribly run company.

LOGITECH JUNK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The amount of distortion is terrible from the small desk speakers. Its like hearing your music from 2 tin cans and the bass isint anything special at all.ALso theiy distort if you try to put any midrange thru them at all. They arent even worth 80$.I will be returning them.I tuned my PC equlizer for like a hour and their was no way ! If you want loud clear music then buy a home theater system and get the proper cable's and hook that up.Its cheaper and more sound for the $$$

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds like earbuds turned up to 200% with a massive sub-woofer that doesn't match up. Absolute garbage. How does this get so many good reviews?

Posted .Hi Alex, Very sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the Z623 2.1 Speaker System. It sounds like you may have an issue with the headphone jack you're using or the speaker cables are defective or isn't connected properly. From what you're describing, it sounds like your sound is muffled which would lead me to believe that the connection isn't optimal. Make sure that you have the Z623 plugged into the proper headphone jack and not the microphone jack which is the same size but uses a different type of plug. Be sure that the audio volume on your device is turned up. If you're using a Windows computer, you should be able to test this in the audio settings by right clicking the speaker icon in your system tray. If none of this solves the problem, you may simply have a defective speaker wire which should be covered by the 2-year limited hardware warranty. Here's a link to file a claim  https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025081313-Warranty-Speaker-System-Z623. Hope that this was helpful and that all is going well.
