Me and my installer were very impressed with the system. Cameras have audio and the field of view is wider than I thought.. Perhaps 120°. All cameras are hard wired via PoE to the NVR under my living room TV. The motion detection alert comes in about 30-40 seconds after motion is detected. This takes some getting used to as my prior Samsung Smartcam cameras were almost instant. But not a huge deal. 4k quality is superb and switching between cameras is a snap via Android app by swiping left /right. I wish i could heard audio from the mobile app.

Overall Lorex is a good brand for surveillance systems; however, their software department seems to be lacking. The mobile app designated for it does not work. I literally spent over 20 hours downloading many apps (including 3rd party) trying to view my cameras remotely, until I found one. For the desktop app, the instructions on how to convert the recordings into a viewable format are outdated. Took me a while to figure that one as well. Also, unfortunately, I can't use the same app to view my work's Lorex IP cameras. Consequently, I have 2 apps on my mobile and 2 apps on my desktop.

Easy setup and it does what’s supposed to do, the image is clear in the 5MP cameras, the zoom is not the best but it would mean buying more expensive cameras. So this system is good for home owners and small businesses. Good purchase! PoE is the way to go, I don’t have to change batteries, good deal!!

Liked the number of ports, the number of cameras included and thesize of this system. Should help keep us secure

I originally bought this system and had it installed by the Geek Squad in Sept 2018. Right off I found the written documentation was terrible and it was difficult to interface. Less than a year later, the system failed and I discovered the company had upgrade the client software, without notifying me. After 45 minutes on the phone I sorted it out with the tech support. The in February 2020, the power company turned off the electricity, while they worked on the neighbors house. When they turned it back on I lost one camera. Now this week we had a power failure and when it came back on we lost another camera! The Camera System is protected by both a Whole House Surge Protector and a computer surge protector. I have a friend who also has a LOREX system in his business. Out of 16 cameras, 5 have failed in less than two years I would not recommend LOREX again.

Tech support was a problem originally getting the unit to be connected from my Mac Airbook. But a follow-up call was with a tech who knew her stuff and also provided me with documentation. Search feature could use some improvement but I am still going through the manual so maybe it is me, but wasn't as intuitive as my Ring cameras are.

They work great. But still trying to learn and understand how to use. Just a quick start book with it. Needs a book to understand

Four cameras failed within a year. Switched to Swan.
