    Great Bag for DSLR!

Excellent camera bag for my Full Frame Canon DSLR! Also it's a great bag to put inside another bag or backpack! I was looking for a DSLR bag, not too big or small.. this Lowepro Format 160 camera bag is just right! I wanted a bag big enough so i can rest my DSLR flat or sitting on it's normal position, i didn't want to let it rest on the lens, nor did i want it to rest on the screen, both seemed like such awkward or abusive positions. This bag was just wide enough, not tight or loose, just a nice snug feel! I still have room to add a lens or accessories on top of the camera, but personally i don't/wouldn't. The thought of anything on top the camera turns me off! Two small pockets outside of the bag and one in the front.. i don't use any of them though! Great if you need it! The great thing about this camera bag is that it fits nicely inside both my backpacks without being too bulky, it fits inside my Manfrotto Bravo30 and Empire backpacks. I'll use this bag to be in another bag/backpack especially for hikes/trekking and adventuring when i don't want to carry by hand or by shoulder strap, who hikes like that anyways? My hands have to be free and clear! I usually keep my Canon camera stored in my Canon 300DG bag when at home or when i go to a classy function, or when i simply want to have that "pro" look. Overall it's an inexpensive, strong, well made, medium to large sized bag. The cushion pads inside feel pretty good, zippers feel like they won't get detached or get stuck. Purchased this at my local Best Buy for about $30. Well worth the price, definitely worth it as a great case for outdoor adventures. Pictures attached are of the Lowepro Format 160, with my DSLR resting on it's normal position inside. The other photo is of my camera bag/backpack setup. It consists of my Manfrotto Bravo 30 and Empire backpacks, also a Canon 300DG duffle style gadget bag, older Lowepro and Case Logic cam bags.. Lowepro is a great company while being inexpensive versus being "cheap", Would buy again if needed!

Useful small bag for hand-held flashes

Prior to this purchase I bought Lowepro's Adventura 170 to hold two Nikon SB-800s, Pocket Wizards and some small light modifiers. I found the Format 160 II on sale and needed another bag for a new group of handheld flashes. The 160's internal space is very similar to the 170, both models have two external open pockets and one zippered pocket. The 160's open pockets are a bit more restrictive than the 170 but one flash will fit in each one. The zippered pocket on the 160 is simple and right on the outside. The 170 pocket is under a flap that goes over it and the main compartment. The 170's zippered pocket also has dividers inside. I use the handles on top of both so I can't speak to shoulder strap use. Either model suits my needs for keeping hand-held flashes and related accessories together and handy.

The :Format 160 was capable of holding my Canon Rebel T3i and a 55-250 mm lens as well as an assortment of lens caps and storage cards. The strap is a bit uncomfortable but is easy to switch out for a different one and does not seem to be much of an issue. the bag has a number of zippers and pouches for storing all sorts of useful things as mentioned above. when walking the bag feels comfortable and doesn't take up much space. easy to access interior. the bag has adjustable dividers inside it which are padded and held in place with sturdy velcro. the bag itself is decently padded and even after accidentally banging it on rocks a few times the equipment inside was unscathed. .Looks sleek and discrete. Overall a useful bag with a surprising amount of storage for it's size.

I bought this bag almost 2 years ago and it was a great purchase. I use it for my Canon SX510 HS camera and it's great. Plenty of room inside, the Velcro dividers easily divide it up for whatever size camera you have. I have my camera in the center raised from the bottom to prevent possible damage, and have 2 side compartments using the dividers for storing the bag strap and the camera strap, a spare camera and a lens cleaning cloth. The zippered lid has a zippered storage compartment which can hold batteries, memory cards, pens, and other small items. The elastic pockets on the sides stretch out to hold more things, I think they could hold a soda can even. There is a zippered pocket on the front for more small items, plus an open pocket on the back. The bottom has a rugged tread to keep the bag slightly raised and protected. What more can I say, it's great.

A Good Bag For DSLR & Some Essentials

I own several Lowepro bags and all are excellent quality. The "Format 160" can hold a Nikon D7000 body (a fairly large DSLR) with an 18-140mm lens attached plus, a 50-300mm lens, a Nikon external flash, 2 camera batteries and charger, some video and USB cables, a few filters and lens caps, and other small items such as memory cards and the like. Of course depending on how much you want to carry you may need to experiment a bit with placement of your items. So all things considered, not bad for a fairly compact bag! If you need more space, Lowepro makes dozens of bags in all shapes and sizes. I also like Case Logic's products, particularly the "SLRC 203" which holds a lot more gear and includes a quick-release tripod fastener.

    Does the job but small

Its a simple bag, inside zipper on flap and some velcro padded pieces inside to separate compartments. It gets the job done but just a little too small for my needs. It can only really comfortably fit the camera with a small lens and maybe one more medium sized lens and a small lens. Any more than that and it is difficult to get to them or put back the camera. Okay if you only are taking a couple lenses on your shoot but if you are using it to travel and want to take more equipment it is not suitable. I would probably not recommend to a friend, tell them to get something a bit bigger. Its actually taller then my last case but not as wide. I would opt for a wider bag, even if giving up some height. But i also got if for free with the black friday sale so it will have to do for now.

nice step up from a point and shoot camera

We've loved our Canon point and shoot cameras so when we decided to step up to something more advanced this was an easy choice. The basic features are very similar to Canon's point and shoot camera's so if you are familiar with Canon this is pretty easy to start using right away. This came as package with two lenses, a case, and a 16 gb memory card so it was a pretty good deal. We have not yet had a chance to play with any of the advanced features but based on our experience with other Canon products we expect them to to be pretty straightforward. The only downside I can see is the camera requires a special battery pack so I'd recommend getting a second one as a backup. Pictures and video are crisp and clear and better quality than I'm used to with my point and shoot.

If I didn't get it for free, I wouldn't have bought it. The internal storage is awkward. The velcro panels are 100% removable, but don't work tremendously well at creating walls for other parts, such as additional lenses. If you have a larger lens, you can probably store the camera with the lens attached, but are likely unable to store anything else inside. There is a zipper pouch on one exterior side that creates a bulky interior if anything larger than a few papers are put inside it. Even the manual is to big. The outer side and rear pockets do not close in any way whatsoever. I do like the interior zipper pouch on the opening flap, though. If you can get it for free, get it. If not, look for something else.

I did have a different bag before this one that was more of a backpack style. It made me nervous having my (very) expensive camera on my back, out of sight. So, I switched to this bag and am completely in love with it! I feel safe with my Nikon camera nestled in it. And, it's big enough to hold all of the cords, lenses (I have two), and even my little Nikon Coolpix, so I'm always ready to capture that perfect picture. Everything I need is at my fingertips, and easy to take out or put back. The strap is comfortable on my shoulder and is adjustable for crossbody wear if desired. With all that it holds, it looks surprisingly small, but looks are very deceiving for this bag.

Bought this for my Panasonic mirrorless camera. The bag is sizable enough for camera body with small lens, 40 - 150mm, flash, battery pack, 2 spare batteries and charger, 3 filter sleeves and misc cables....so there's plenty of room. Strap has plenty of adjustment and zippers are sturdy although take note, they're designed to open with the flap on the outside. I would not recommend for larger cameras if you carry all these accessories.

This bag holds up well and comes with three removable dividers that can be placed in the bag by way of velcro. Unfortunately, there are only two thin strips of velcro on opposing sides of the bag, severely limiting your customization options. I have room to store one camers (lens off, with strap), two lenses (18-55mm and 55-200mm), plus camera charger/cables, etc. inside, but not much more. There is a zipper pouch inside the lid, one on the back (outside), and two elastic pouches on the sides, but putting something in all of them makes for a bulky, hard-to use bag. As long as you don't have much in the way of gear, this bag does its job very well.

This bag was part of my purchase of Nikon D7000 and two zoom lenses, one 18-140mm and one 55-300mm. I can manage to fit the assembly of the camera and 18-140mm lens, and separately the 55-300mm lens in two adjustable compartments. The camera is placed face down. But, when the 55-300mm lens is installed, the depth of the bag would be a bit too short that the cap of the longer lens is pushing tightly against the bottom. The effect of cushion to protect the camera/lens is compromised. It may not be a serious problem provided that you go gentle with the bag when the camera and lenses are inside.

Good Bag for Critical Photo Equipment

This bag is nicely made, and can fit most stuff needed for standard photography. I was able to fit my Canon EOS T6S with 18-135mm lens attached, plus spare zoom lens 55-200mm, charger, lens hood, and 2 pouches of filters. It was a very tight fit, and had only one secure pocket in front that was shallow (ok for lens cleaning cloth). Side pockets were open. I loved the design, style and size, and the fact that I could store my camera with lens attached vertically, but since I could not comfortably fit all my equipment in it, I returned for a larger Lowepro bag.

I keep my SLR with a prime lens in one side (actually laying on the side with the grip facing up for quick access) and have room on the other side for another lens and some filters. The strap is well made and is easy to adjust. The zippers are well made and zip easily open and closed. The bag has an overall well-made fit and finish and is a joy to use. The top handle is padded and very comfortable to hold for short periods or while moving the bag around. Like most other top-flap designed bags, the handle on the top isn't very useful unless the bag is zippered and clasped closed.

I like this bag a lot. It's compact, lightweight, and protects my gear from normal hazards. I'm very, very careful with my equipment—vigilant—so I'm unable to gauge its drop protection. The adjustable dividers allow me to safely pack one or two camera bodies, two to three lenses (e.g., 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 70–300mm f4.5–5.6 [medium-size zoom], etc.), and accessories; sometimes I place a small video recorder in it along with them: the Zoom Q8. The price is great too. (I'm a photography enthusiast.)

This bag came in a packaged deal on black friday with a Nikon D7000. It is a nice smaller bag. If I paid full price for it I would be somewhat disappointed. This bag is good just to bring out for the day when you Only need one lens and very limited other gear. That being said I wouldn't want to carry this bag on my person for the day, rather just keep it in the car and carry my camera with lens attached. So... since the bag is going to be in the car anyway, I rather just take my larger bag with the rest of my stuff in it for that situation and leave it in the car.

We got the bag with our Nikon D3200 DSLR camera. Camera and one lens fits great. Multiple storage places for extra batteries/charge and SD cards. Has a few Velcro flaps that allow you to set it up however you like. We actually keep our sony camcorder in it as well and it works great. The only down side I see is that I am thinking of getting a telephoto lens and I dont think the bag will be big enough at that point. It definitely would be too small if we were to purchase a bigger flash for it and a lens. Over all great design though. I would buy it again.

Not a good bag for Canon 80d camera bundle

This bag should only be bundled with a point and shoot camera. I bought a Canon 80d camera with a 18-135mm lens. This bag is barely big enough to fit the camera inside it. You'd have to buy another bag just for the lens. This is not an ideal bag for anyone who is serious about photography that has a camera that is able to change out lenses. Something to think about Best Buy: If you spend about $1400 for a camera, you should at least get a bigger, better bag.

This is a very basic camera bag. What's neat about it is that its small space does not allow the camera to freely move: it is secured. Another great feature is that the individual compartments are detachable, so you can adjust the inside to your liking. There are pockets on the front and on the side which is neat, and the lid has a zipper inside that also holds stuff. My biggest gripe with this is the size. It is far too small and you can really only put the camera and one lens inside.

I bought this bag in a bundle with the Canon T5i. I ended up returning the bag for a store credit. I found a sling-type bag by Case Logic that I like much better. This bag is just utilitarian with no special features. The sling bag I found is a perfect size (not too small and not too big), has pockets for stuff and will be perfect when I take it to Panama and Cost Rica. My advice would be not to buy a camera in a bundle with other things. Take your time and research what you really want as accessories, especially in a camera bag.
