This product caught me by surprise. I was looking for a headset to replace my Astros A50s. I've had The Gold's from Sony, some of the Astros and A few Turtle Beaches, so I have a fairly good idea of what to look for in a gaming headset. First the pros: great sound quality, very comfy, lightweight, and I like the ability to shut off the mic and the sound of the headphones just by pressing the buttons found at the center of each cup. it has rotating cups, one to control the volume and the other one for the mic, it has a detachable mic, and the headphones can be used with the cord should you want to hook it up to your phone while you are gaming. I've gotten between 14 to 15 hours of gameplay. Now the cons: the mic is constantly getting disconnected, I don't know if this is a flaw related to my headset of it others have experienced the same issue. The other thing that may bother some people is the fact that you have to connect the dongle via an optical cable. The Sony ones use the same kind of dongle but it doesn't require you to connect anything else, so this is not a deal breaker for me, but for some that may be cumbersome. Finally, they are BIG!!, so I doubt you would be taking these out on the street, they do work with an array o devices including your cellphone but I wouldn't use them outside the comfort of my home; that's just me of course. Final thoughts, when I fist saw them I thought they were going to be heavy and not too comfy, and I had my doubts with the sound quality because of the prize. I know that the people behind these headphones have worked with Tritton in the past so that made me take a chance. The headphones, to my surprise, are very comfortable. I put them on and I forget they are there; I can focus on my gaming without having to take them off because of the weight or because they are simply uncomfortable. They just worked well and I never felt any pressure or annoyance during gaming. The other thing I love about them is the sound quality. I was expecting to hear some hissing sound as it happens with many wireless headphones; the sound is just right on and at no point you hear anything other than what you are supposed to be hearing, specially at times when there's nothing playing, you won't hear a beep and that's what headphones should do. I've had other wireless headphones in the past and I hate it when the game goes into a loading screen when there is nothing playing and you hear that hissing noise, these ones don't have that problem. Overall, I think they are a solid buy, they are priced right in my opinion and they fit in that middle range with not much to envy to their high-end counterparts.

When my turtle beach PX51 headset bit the dust it was time to start looking for a new gaming headset. I never heard of LucidSound but decided to give them a try due to their sexy looks and easy controls built into the ear cups. I am 32 and dont like how most headsets look like a prop out of a sci fi movie. These are sleek well made headsets. I like the fit and finish. It is very comfortable and has a premium feel. I could see if you have a large head that they could be a little snug but the earcups have memory foam so that could rectify those concerns. The sound is very clear and deep. These do not have as many options as the turtle beach headsets I was coming from but find the sound overall better. There is no virtual surround sound as my turtle beach had but I do not feel it makes much of a difference in a headset. You need surface area to get real surround sound which you just cant get in a 4 inch headphone earcups. There is 3 EQ settings normal bass boost and tremble boost. I like bass boost mostly. The mic is very clear and my friends say I sound much better then my old turtle beach. For $150 these are amazing headphones. I paid $120 so an even better value. If you really need virtual surround sound the LS40 is the step up model that is supposed to be released January 2017 for $200. Look around for a premium wireless headset for under $150 and you just will not find anything this good.

Was looking for a "nicer" headset that worked across all my platforms (PC, XBone, ps4, music) and these fit the bill. They look great and are comfortable on my head, even after a long time. Mic boom is detachable so you can wear them like headphones while out and about. Sounds are crisp and clear when headset is on. Produces good bass. I use these while playing online and they've saved me more than once. Headphones also work when the battery dies. If given the opportunity, I would purchase these again. I Recommend this headset.

I bought these to use with my PS4. It was very easy to set up and start listening and the sound is excellent. I really like that the volume control is the large dial on the left earpiece, making it quick and easy to turn it up or down. I also like that they are metal because my last headphones were plastic and broke easily. It's very easy to synch them to the device, just press the headset power button. The specs say 15 hours of battery power and I believe it since I've never even had a low battery warning. I don't use the microphone at all so I can't comment on that. Lastly, I find them very comfortable even after many hours of gaming.

After owning Astro,Steel,Turtle Beach headsets I found that these are just as good if not better than those. The mic works great in chats and the headphone game sounds are great. Why spend the high dollars on those when you can get a good headset for a lot less money The build quality is also outstanding and the game and chat volume controls are great you do not have to feel for small buttons when these are large volume control wheels.

Headset has a great build and construction. They are very comfortable and awesome for both gaming and listening to any sort of audio. The one area that I found kind of deceiving and didnt quite live up to potential is the "wireless" and "surround sound" capabilities. True surround sound is only available in the really expensive headsets. Everything else is just stereo surround. Also, the wireless was sometimes spotty if you didnt turn things on in the correct order, Overall, a great headset for the price if you find it on sale. Personally, I will stick to my HyperX Cloud's.

I've never had a set of gaming headphones before but these things are sweet. I can hear so many more details while playing than I could b efore just using the TV. They are super comfortable and don't look goofy like almost every other gaming headset out there. I use them to just watch Netflix when everyone in the house is asleep. Just detach the removable boom mic and you're good to go. The controls are easy to use and become second nature. Just turn one ear cup for game volume and the other for chat volume. Tap each respective cup to mute or unmute. I've only had them for a couple months but they feel high quality and I see them lasting me for a very long time. Don't hesitate they are awesome!!!

This is a great headset! I'm wearing it hooked up to my phone as I type this. I don't even turn on my headset or connect it to the usb that goes into the Xbox to sync the headset when I use it. Just simply plug it into my controller and it works great. Very comfortable can grind out a night of XBOX with no discomfort. The downfall of not syncing it is no being able to use the adjustable game and party volume on each side of the headset, but it only takes 5 seconds to hit the home button and adjust it in the settings so that's not an issue. One thing I like about these is the range of motion the headset has (see my picture) . You can wear them around your neck and rotate them so they flat on your chest, unlike the pair of studio wireless beats I used to own. Also works great when I'm playing a game and want to listen to music from my Bose companion computer speakers, I can easily rest the right side of the headset on my head and hear the game and my friends in party chat. As far as sound quality they are great for the price, not quite as good as the beats i used to have but they are also half the price and multi purpose. I've dropped them a few times they are not built poorly. Love the look of them. This is a must have for anyone who loves to game and listen to music a lot!

Before this pair I was using the mono style headphone that came with the Xbox One. It suited my needs pretty well, but I wanted an upgrade. When I saw these on sale I thought they may worth a shot, hearing how there were so many other bad sounding headphones and these were supposed to be pretty good. Well, from my limited experience with gaming headphones I think these sound way better than the mono headphones Microsoft gave out and they're pretty comfortable to boot because of those really thick ear pads. I haven't tried every headphone out there, but I would say these are almost as good as mid range musical headphones. The thing that keeps them from being good musical headphones though is that the mids are too muddy, but for gaming that doesn't matter as much. Some say they don't mind wearing them in public, but I think these are way too big for that. Overall, I think these are good if you're a casual gamer looking for a mid-range stereo type gaming headphone. But I wouldn't pay full price. Try to get them on sale.

These are a good headset for the casual player. The separate sound and chat volume and mute controls are very easy to use. I am not an audiophile and would consider the sound quality to be very good. The reason I say sort of wireless is they do need to be wired to the controller for Xbox Live chat, otherwise these are wireless. Set up was easy, happy with the headset and would recommend.

I bought this headset nearly 2 years ago and they still sound perfect. Only issue I have is the charging port doesn't work properly any more and the headband at the top cracked. This is all from wear and tear plus I have a big head.

This headset is well worth the premium price. Dual microphones with boom or without, sturdy design so it won't break (I've had expensive plastic headsets break on me a lot) and the comfortable design are great. I use it many hours a day for work conference calls, then game with it at home. Of course the sound is excellent too. Only detractor is that the noise isolation isn't as complete as I'd like... But it's not a huge factor.

    SOLID GAMING HEADSET FOR PS4

Ive had Turtle Beach headsets for PS4 and they are great but built cheap with plastic that can break... this headset is nicely built with a metal frame and adjustable head band. The sound is awesome! It has a removable boom mic that has a blue LED at the end that lights up when you mute chat. The volume controls are done much better then on the turtle beach 500P headset I had. They are controlled by spinning the rings on the sides on the ear cans. The large center disc on the outside of the ear cans are used to mute. The left side ear can controls the game volume and chat while the right side controls the chat. Love how this headset was built!

Bought for my 14 yr old son. He said sound quality is excellent but the boom Mic kept cutting out. I told him to remove it (read that in several reviews). Once he removed it, he said everything is much better now. He also said he can hear himself a lot better than his old headset. He said it sounds like he's in the same room as his friends. I would also like to add that the headset isn't as light as some of the reviews state. My son said he thought they would feel lighter but he still loves them. The set uo was super easy. He set it up himself.

These headphones are amazing. Whether you just need to be able to play games at night without waking the spouse or if you want the upper hand in a shooter with better audio, they are great. The only issue I have is that in order to use the microphone, you have to plug them into the controller via 3.5mm cable that is included. This makes them no longer wireless and after spending $150 on a headset it is something to consider. USB chargeable for wireless and they work without power via 3.5mm jack just as great if they died.

I was looking for a gaming headset for my PS4 and decided to buy these prior to hearing them first. I was able to "try" out the other headsets like Turtle Beach and others at Walmart but the Lucid Sound headphones were never available anywhere to try before you buy. After reading mainly positive reviews, not to mention these look pretty cool I can use these with my phone in public and not look like a geek compared to the other gaming headset designs & looks I decided to purchase them. They sound good, not nearly as much bass as I was hoping to have but there is a decent amount of bass that they produce. My biggest complaint recently is that the headphones are having difficulty connecting to the PS4. If I turn on the PS4 first and then decide I want to use the headphones they have difficulty pairing and I have to plug/unplug the dongle about 4 times before they decide to talk with each other. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't think I am.........if after 10 minutes of using the PS4 and want to use the headphones this shouldn't be the process you have to go through to use them. Overall they are a decent looking and sounding pair of headphones but the pairing issue has caused me to like them less and less when I struggle to get them to pair.

I bought these for my son for Christmas. They connect to everything he has and deliver a superior sound quality. He play those games for hours and has never complained that the batter has died on him, even during the all-nighters with his friends. There are some static issues with certain connections. I suspect it's due to "universal" connecting capability but it is tolerable.
