M BUTTERFLY is elusively enchanting

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was fortunate to see the New York Broadway play sitting center front row. The plays intimacy and remarkable performances left a lasting impression on me. Like the film, I was puzzled by the fact that one man never knew his lover was a man until he was physically shown frontally. This film is beautiful, but lacks the intewnsity of the play. It is nonetheless breathtakingly personal.
