Thin, light, fast; it's a superb machine. If you're not editing videos from a drone then the additional ports provided by the Macbook Pro aren't necessary so you can save money by going with the Air. As a programmer I'm concerned with 8GB's being too low for memory and burning out the hard drive. However, as a student without the necessary skills to run XCode, simulators, emulators, multiple K8s clusters, and the various services for my startup I think this machine is more than enough to cover highschool and parts of college(if not all).

bought my MacBook Air in 2019, and it’s still one of the best purchases I’ve made. It’s lightweight, durable, and perfect for work, school, and travel. The Retina display is bright and clear, making long hours of studying or creating presentations easy on the eyes. I am very pleased with my order, I am able to do everything I need to on this laptop such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Notes, and PowerPoint. This laptop is easy to use there are not many options arcade wise if you wanted to play games. But, being a virtual college student due to the pandemic I am able to use Zoom. Downloading apps or software you need is also fast and reliable. It didn’t take long to learn how to use special keys to navigate the laptop easier.

I bought this for laptop going to my freshman year of college and it has performed greatly. I am now a senior in college and it's still performing greatly. It still holds a charge and can last me several days without having to charge it back up. I bought this laptop through Best Buy because there was a deal on it instead of buying it on Amazon or straight from the Apple Store. Picture quality is good sound, is great, portability is great. I am very deep in the apple ecosystem because of his laptop now. (I've also put a Dbrand Skin on it to give it some subtle style and protection from scratches.)

It’s just the right size - smooth and sleek and easy to use for a 1st year college student. I also like the Touch ID for quick access without having to type in a whole password.

Been having mine for a month now and I love it. I added a pic of how it appears with a clear case that I bought off of Amazon and it looks even better and sleek (I kinda like that the logo doesn’t glow, it makes it look more classier in my opinion). Fall semester starts next week for me, so I’ll really get to test out and see how it actually functions for hours at a time. On that note, so far so good. Everything runs smooth and the battery life is great. Depending on how much you use your laptop, sometimes I’ll only need to charge my MacBook 2x a week. 10/10

I was rockin' a 2013 model MacBook Pro when I seen that Best Buy had the MacBook Air on sale and that gave me a reason to upgrade since my Pro was too old to upgrade any further as far as the OS. I have not been disappointed at all, the new Air is super fast and the battery life is fantastic! Great value for the price and just a great tool for all of my computing needs. I love this computer. It's really fast and can run many programs simultaneously without any drop in performance. The screen is bright and high-res, and the battery really does last all day. I was worried that it would be a step down from my previous MacBook Pro, but I haven't missed a thing. I've purchased two of these, for both myself and my wife. They are more than enough for medical and/or graduate school.

I bought this knowing it was geek certified but that's irrelevant in my review of the Macbook Air M1. PROS: It's definitely a step ahead of the last MacBook Airs. I would say the person this is for are creators who use adobe photoshop, iMovie, multiple tabs open, music playing, etc. It's genuinely pretty good for a MacBook Air. iMovie videos render in like lets say a 5minute video in 1080p 1GB, 2-3 minutes. That's a huge improvement. However, this is not for you if you use any video-making application that is not yet running on Apple's Silicone. It's not to say that it doesn't work. A lot of Intel products work through Rosetta. I'm not sure if this is going to be fixed since the new MacBook Airs M2 should be dropping in a few months. So I guess if you're a creator who only uses Apple applications like iMovie, and if you can find a M1 version of any application you use that's based on intel, you should be fine. But a lot of us who use adobe creative suite, powerdirector, cricut, silhouette, it's not a good idea to pick this up. I'm not sure if there is going to be a software update that fixes this but what happens is that with 8gb of ram, intel apps use about 7gb of the ram and so you're forced to shut down your work. Even JC can't save your hard work if you're editing a video or writing an essay. Overall, I don't blame anyone but myself and Apple. They overpromised on a product that had the potential to be great. It's just to bad they don't allow us to add more ram. It's hard to criticize them because I depend on MacOS but this really has to change with them. 8GB is not enough for anything anymore. Don't get wrong, take a look at your diagnostics and see how much the m1 is killing your SSD (or lifetime expectancy). This usually doesn't move numbers for a year or two but users are already seeing their MacBooks life expectancy start ticking, Ideally, this MacBook should have never been released as an 8GB Memory, it should have started at 16GB because every day the MacBook is being used it won't last as long as the original intels. I'm thinking of returning mine and going back to intel with just a higher ram and processor. we'll see. I'm actually thinking of leaving macOS and going back to windows because this is just sad.
