I purchased this MBP to replace my aging 2015 13" MBP. Notably, I skipped an entire generation of MBP (the Intel MBP with the Touch Bar and questionable keyboards). Wow is it so much faster! Although larger than the the Touch Bar model I skipped, this computer basically the identical size physically that I already beloved. I was deciding between this and the older model and also redesigned 13" MacBook Air. For my usage I need more storage space and more ram, which alone greatly increased the price of the Air. As an amateur photographer the SD card is a huge bonus. And as a tech-savvy person the abundance of USB-C ports on both sides of the machine also let me charge in a coffee shop no matter which direction my charger is in. And the headphone jack still comes in handy. And the slightly larger and higher quality screen is a plus. Plus a fan if needed and a faster processor. I feel all these upgrades are worth the premium over an upgraded Air. If anything, I find the new MagSafe charger input unnecessary. I learned the hard way that fast charging is not good for the aging of the battery, or leaving it plugged in and turned off when I am not using it. I also used other higher wattage Apple chargers from other MacBooks. In just 12 discharges I was at 92% battery health within a month! While it does charge faster with higher wattage chargers, I wish it was able to negotiate and downgrade the charging speed to preserve the battery. I also use a 2021 M1 Pro 16" MBP at work. They're very similar, except size of course. but I do notice the keyboards feel a little different and that I prefer the typing experience more on the 16" model. The battery capacity on the 16 is also a beast and I've never had any charging degradation that I've experienced on the 14.

I can’t say enough good stuff about the M processor line. Mac has been revolutionized. I have been using this laptop for years and it still performs like a dream. Mac is the way to go now. I am a huge Apple fan, but in the 2010s I thought Mac was underpowered and unrealized. All of that changed with the M1 revolution. Everything about the Macbook Pro is excellent now. Screen, speakers, ports, processor, build, all of it. The only complaint I can come up with is the weight - something I forgot about rather fast. When it comes to Macbook, you can’t find better laptops at a better price. The end.

Coming from a fully specced out 2015 MacBook Pro to this M1 Pro powered machine has been an absolute game changer. Within an hour of getting this laptop I had installed about 25 programs, got signed into all of my accounts, and started transferring photos and videos from my Sony Alpha camera to it. Using Compressor it chewed through Sony's clunky XAVCS codec and transcoded it ProRes quicker than real time. Edits performed in Lightroom have been instantaneous. FCPX has zero dropped frames with a timeline stacked with audio, overlays, transitions, etc. Average daily computing is lightning fast with stellar battery performance. The laptop is pin drop quiet, especially compared to the 747 full throttle take-off sequence that my 2015 would sound like if I simply started a YouTube video. On that topic, the laptop has yet to get hot to the touch. The Intel powered 2015 would start melting my thighs and making my hands sweat if I used it on my lap for more than 10 minutes. Meanwhile this laptop has been sitting on my lap for the last 2 hours and only feels as warm as I do normally, my body heat has heated this thing up more than its processor has. All that being said my main gripes with this machine are the lack of upgradability. While I would prefer to be able to upgrade RAM, 16GB will suffice for the life of this machine. The 512GB SSD on the other hand is laughable considering the price of this laptop. Giving users the option of an available m.2 slot would have been an incredible feature of this laptop that would have extended its life cycle significantly. All that being said picking up one of these now that the M2 variants are out is an absolute steal. This machine was $2K new last year and I was able to pick it up for $1400 and I am in no way missing out on wifi 6e, HDMI 2.1, or the new bluetooth version. The M1 Pro is still plenty powerful, the screen is best in class, the trackpad demolishes every single Windows laptop, and the I/O is everything I need. If you are a creative and looking for a new portable power house, pick up this laptop and you will not regret it.

I’ve had my MacBook Pro since 2022, never had an issues. The ft and performance are amazing and the battery life last approximately 3 and half hours depending on what I’m doing on the device.

Macbook keeps on shutting down unexpectedly and randomly with kernel panic reports. Clearly a hardware issue since I have done a clean re-install of MacOS. I have purchased open box Geek certified Macbook. Thinking that it has gone through extensive testing and there won't be issue. So I am quite disappointed right now.

As a person who spends equal time between windows and Mac os, I have to say this is without a doubt the best laptop I have ever used. No exaggeration! The display is incredible!. Web sites, documents, and movies all look amazing. It is fast and quiet. More than powerful enough for my daily needs. Was planning on getting the M2 Air. Once I specced the M2 air up it was only $100 dollars cheaper then the sale that Bestbuy had on the 14" pro. Had some gift cards and a trade in that brought the price even lower. Decided on the bigger better screen, better speakers, faster M1 pro chip, and more ports. I am very surprised at how lite and portable this machine is. I do not regret getting the 14" at all. Like a customer said earlier. If you are thinking about it just go and purchase it. You wont have any buyers remorse.

I love this laptop! I use it for Adobe creative suite and it runs like a dream. I hardly even notice any dip in performance or high fan speed or heat problems. I upgraded from my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro and this has been a lifesaver for my productivity. I highly recommend this laptop if you do any sort of design work or processor intensive tasks

I have owned this laptop for three months now. I purchased it during a Labor Day sale and traded in a 13 inch M1 Pro, so I ended up paying 50% of retail value and also took advantage of the New Jersey sales tax holiday that was going on, so price wise it was a deal that I could not pass up. My only regret was the trade in which in my view was way undervalued by Best Buy. So if had I had to do this over again I would have kept the 13 inch Pro. The 14 inch pro lives up to its hype in terms of speed, pro motion display and onboard ports. It has slightly more heft to it that the 13 inch, but it is still an eminently portable laptop. The 16GB of ram on the 14 inch, in comparison to the 13 inch which had 8GB of ram makes a big difference. The 13 inch regularly used 40% to 50% of the ram. The 14 inch only uses 12% at most. I just use the laptop for typical consumer use, surfing the web, emails and word processing, but I could definitely see the speed difference with the additional ram on the 14 inch pro. As for the battery life, the 13 inch M1 pro definitely had better battery, but then again it started with a larger battery as compared to the M1 Air and it’s processor consumed less power than the 14 inch and the display was smaller so one would expect that. Having said that the 14 inch pro is nevertheless excellent with battery. I keep it on 24/7 and not connected to charging. I open it, use it, close the lid again and so forth. Depending on use after a week the battery will be down to around 50% and then I charge it again with the MagSafe connection. When it comes to battery life no other manufacturer comes remotely close to Apple. I have also charged the 14 inch with the thunderbolt connection and connected it to a Dell thunderbolt dock for purposes of using dual monitors and it all worked fine. I have not pushed the potential of this laptop. Accordingly the dual fans have never come on. The laptop is always cool to the touch. The laptop is running the latest version of Ventura and the update went without any problems. The price for the 14 inch is steep, but without a doubt this is the finest laptop on the market right now and if you can purchase on sale so much the better.

It has been a LONG time since I’ve used a “Goldilocks” computer where everything is just right. The screen feels right, the weight feels good in your hands/lap, and the keyboard is delightfully perfect. Multi-Day Battery, power to devour the tasks that most of use computers to do, and simply stunning. I held off for a long time due to the high price tag, but when I was able to get one for the same price as a MacBook Air, I realized it was time to trade in the 2015 15” for the successor. Buy one if you need a new laptop and you can afford it. Don’t waste time on more reviews/comparisons. Just buy it and enjoy!

I got mine open-box for $1,450! It had never been turned on, and was registered the day I set it up. The retail new price had dropped to $1,599, and the open-box reflected the lowered price. When the price drops to this point, there is no comparison to the MacBook Air M2. $1,599 gets you a mini-led screen, Pro-Motion 120GHz refresh, six speakers, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, additional ports (three USB-C, HDMI, SD Card slot), A $1,499 MacBook Air, $100 less than the 14" MacBook Pro at time of this writing, is only 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, LED Backlit screen, no ProMotion, 60GHz refresh, four speakers, two USB-C ports. You do save .8 lbs of weight, but sacrifice quite a bit to get there. Additionally, the Air only allows for one external monitor, yet the Pro allows two monitors, up the 6K Pro XDR. If you can get the Pro on sale, it is an outstanding value, and worth every penny. This will be a computer to last for years to come.

Finally decided to upgrade my old Macbook Pro from college, which was a 15". The 14" is the perfect size for portability and for home desktop setup. I have (2) external monitors that I use for work often and wanted to be able to use my MacBook Pro as well. The visuals are unmatched and the speed of this baby is insane! If you are on the fence about buying the Pro vs. Air, I'd say it comes down to how portable you'll be with your Macbook. The air is the best option if you are looking for the best portability to simply surf the web and update some simple spreadsheets. The Pro is great if you plan to use it as your "home base" laptop. It still is very portable but you just can't beat the air in that aspect. The pro however destroys the Air on performance, which mattered more to me.

Loving working on this machine. The 14" screen is the best balance for size, and it is amazing in its color and resolution. The M1 Pro is a powerhouse of a processor, and I haven't had anything slow it down. The 512gb SSD is super fast (4000MBs write and 5000MBs read), and the keyboard is great. I've only had the Intel MBP's before, and I have seen no downside to using the Apple Silicon. They brought back many of the ports (HDMI and card reader) as well as 3 USB-C. Oh yeah...the battery life is excellent.
