I Love It ... It's Worth The Extra Money
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't take Microsoft changing their buggy operating system just to make it work differently and not better. Moved to MAC. Works great! Yes, it's pricy compared to Windows but when I consider the time I save not fighting with the operating system, it's a good value. Works great: battery life, speed, weight, size all good. Speakers are great! Bye bye Microsoft!

This Mac is the real deal!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m happy with my investment. I use this Mac daily for video editing! Only caveat is the 14” is a bit on the smaller side but hey it’s compact and saved me a few bucks on the 16”. Has a nice weight to it so it feels premium. Display is super crisp, plenty of HDD internal space (buy a portable SSD to keep all your files on to keep the main drive free) Powers thru tasks with ease. Love how compact it is. Glad I go the M1 Pro…my Mac mini m1 was not this good. Would buy again!

Will stick to Windows laptops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first MacBook, as I have used Windows my entire life. Pros: 1. The display is very nice 2. Lightweight, compact, easy to carry 3. Charging cable port is in a good location and it's easy to see that it is charging 4. Good battery life Cons: 1. The laptop became hot, even though I was not watching videos or gaming 2. The interface is not user-friendly at all 3. The keyboard does not have a Delete button 4. The task bar takes up too much space on the desktop

It Has Big Shoes to Fill
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this base model 14" MBP to replace a mid-2012 13" MBP. My old laptop was a custom-configured beauty, direct from Apple, with a 2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7 processor, an 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory and Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB. It had a built-in 13.3-inch (1280 x800) display and 512 GB SSD storage. It was also the very last model with a disc drive, which is kinda cool. Out the door with AppleCare, it cost $2780 and it was WAY more computer than I needed. It was a beautiful beast and I cried the day I wiped it. I'm not a graphic designer or a photo journalist; I don't make movies and I don't compose music. I'm a writer and a heavy laptop user, into research and shopping and editing a constant influx of grandkid pics. I often had dozens of tabs open online, looking for historical facts or product reviews or the best pumpkin pie recipes. My 2012 machine never stuttered. Never. It was born with Mountain Lion and sailed into the west on Catalina, a faithful companion for lo these many years. The last system report showed 1882 battery cycles and was still reading normal. WOW. And you could open it with a screwdriver and do nerdy things, should you happen to be a techy person. If Apple wasn't stopping security updates, I'd still be using it. My new MBP 14" is good enough for me, but it's definitely a step down from the sheer power of my old baby. I get the dreaded spinning rainbow wheel with more than 5 tabs open (whaaat?) and the touch ID is terrible, constantly refusing to let me in. Maybe it's my fingers, who knows. Anyway, I turned it off in frustration after a couple weeks of troubleshooting. It's the strangest thing, because the specs on the new machine are similar to the old one. An old adage comes to mind: they don't make 'em like they used to. On a positive note, the chassis is very nice and I love the modern shape, lighter weight and smooth open/close as compared to the 2012, but some things seem, well, kinda crappy. The keyboard looks like one cheap piece, set into a shallow trench; the solid black color is weird and I miss the look of each key rising with pride from its own cutout. I do appreciate the full-sized function buttons, but the overall feel is 'clicky' with less action; my old keyboard was silent and met my fingertips with a helpful HELLO, LET'S TYPE! To my nearsighted eyes, the screen is an improvement, for sure. Battery life is bomb. Migration was fast and seamless. Monterey has tons of neato tricks and tweaks to find and enjoy. So overall, this laptop gets a thumbs up from me. I can learn to live with its limits.

Made For Creators
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this laptop primarily for video and photo editing, but it also works as my day to day computer for research, browsing, and life management. As expected, it’s a solid computer that runs powerfully and efficiently. The battery life is exceptional, processing power is strong but now as snappy as the more high end M1/M2 Max models, the sound is fantastic and the built in mics are shockingly impressive! If you’re a Mac user, you’ll enjoy this computer!

Best Mac Book on Sale!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was considering a new Mac book air M2, but I ended up purchasing the M1 Pro 14” on sale. The screen on this laptop is very bright, battery has a long life, and it’s the perfect size for office and traveling. I found this laptop works great with 4 external monitors, blue tooth mouse and Mac keyboard. I moved from using a desktop computer to this Mac Book and I don’t see myself ever going back to a desktop since this compact laptop does everything for me in a compact package.

Great performance
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this mac book, great performance. I used it for photo and video editing and it has no problem handing large file sizes. My workflow is quick, with multiple apps open. I'm now two years into having it, and the battery still lasts all day long.

The best of the best
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is undoubtedly the best laptop I have ever used. The screen is bright and beautiful, on par with some of the top of the line TV’s on the market and provides very rich and saturated colors. The responsiveness is fluid and tasks move fast without stutter. I bought this laptop for professional graphic design and it has given me plenty of power to do my work and I would highly suggest this model or a slightly more powerful one for anyone looking to do some serious work with it.

A Better Balance of Function and Form
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start this review by stating that this laptop probably has more power under the hood than any average consumer will need but, if the price is within your budget, you really can’t go wrong with the new 14” MacBook Pro. Performance of the M1 Pro chip is superb - I don’t get into fancy benchmarks but can just share that, in real world use, this thing flies. I wouldn’t describe myself as a “power user,” by any stretch but, based on my limited experience thus far, I think the 2021 MBP packs more than enough power for most users. While not as elegant looking as the MacBook Air, the MBP finally better balances function with form - the addition of ports, physical function keys, and return of the MagSafe charger are all welcome changes. The keyboard is fantastic - if you are coming from an older MacBook model with the much maligned butterfly keyboard, you will undoubtedly enthusiastically welcome the “magic keyboard” typing experience. The trackpad remains one of the best in the industry with great haptics and an ample control area. Audio is superb - without question the best speakers I have heard on a laptop. The webcam is also now finally 1080p, so your video calls will be vastly improved. The display is fantastic - it’s bright, crisp, and expansive. I have to admit that I was not sure how I would feel about the notch and, quite frankly, I am still not sure. I can say that, generally speaking, it has not been a major annoyance/problem - it’s hidden in full screen and most of the apps I’ve used are able to handle the notch without issue. Touch ID remains fast and secure and you can’t beat the integration with your other iOS devices, including the ability to unlock your Mac with your apple watch. Mac OS Monterey is great - not a huge departure from Big Sur but will bring some welcome functionality, such as Universal Control. Battery life is very good, but not quite as impressive as the 13" M1 MacBook Pro and Air...but charing on the 14" is super quick. There’s no getting around that this is an expensive laptop but, if you have the budget, this laptop will undoubtedly provide you with many years of use.

Great laptop, 120 HZ is a gamechanger
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop so much. Had my old MacBook Pro for 5 and a half years - so traded it in for this one which brought the pricetag down a little bit. Also got it on sale for $400 off the original price, which definitely made it even more enticing to buy. I’m not even sure they have any more available brand new units of this product left at the time of me writing this - so I definitely feel this was a good deal. Love the fact that they brought the old ports back - like the HDMI port and the SD card, for example. My previous one had only USB-C, and that too on only one side of the laptop. The display is massive and beautiful too - the increased refresh rate is insanely good. The great thing about MacBooks is that they’ll last long. That’s why it’s worth it IMO to spend a little bit more money on an Apple laptop - every windows laptop I’ve ever bought would last 12-18 months max, and then it would slow down. My old MacBook Pro only showed signs of slowing down at the very end….but for the majority of the 5+ years I had it, it was insanely durable and quick. I definitely recommend this laptop. Only thing I’d add is that having AppleCare on this thing gives you a peace of mind for sure. Wouldn’t want to go without it.

Glad I got this Mac
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's been nine months since I got this and I can say this laptop is so powerful and fast. Of course for heavy Apple users, this is so efficient. Working between Mac and iPad is super smooth. I'm a designer and use Photoshop and illustrator a lot, they never got slower or lag even with heavy files. The speaker and display are awesome. Nothing to complain, overall, it's so powerful M1 laptop.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I learn something new on my MacBook almost everyday. There’s so many cool features, definitely an upgrade from the chrome book I had before. As a college student the storage space is nice. Being able to utilize split screen & use my iPad as an extra screen has been beneficial. I’ve never seen a battery life this good & I love the size of the display screen. Everyone should own a MacBook, I’ll never switch back!

Best to have!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best laptop for creative professionals you can buy. It offers amazing performance, even on battery, and comes with the best screen you’ll find on a laptop anywhere. For day-to-day use, this won’t be the laptop for you, but for video editors, programmers, music producers and photographers, you won’t get a better laptop

The best laptop I've ever owned
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to be a PC only person but a consistently poor experience with my work laptop pushed me towards Mac with my latest purchase. The screen is amazing, the speakers are top notch, the keyboard feels great even though I prefer a mechanical keyboard. I'm glad I was able to get it on sale

Small yet snappy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little laptop that packs the speed of a desktop. The display looks great, the keyboard is terrific and the battery life if good. Apple MacOS is extremely fast on the Apple M1 processor booting faster than any computer I have ever had. Everything is snappy and I can get work done faster. My only gripe is the lack of ports and the necessity to buy extra adapters to accommodate USB devices and LAN. Also the display lacks touch capabilities, All in all, I am happy with my purchase and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a laptop with a small footprint and loaded with hardware built for speed.

||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple has arrived to a nice mix between portability and performance. I have own several macbooks over the years and I can say confidently this is it. The performance on the m chips are absolutely phenomenal, the battery life is mind blowing. I run several graphic intensive software with no compromise. If you still thinking about the investment I would say go for it!

Great Battery
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this MacBook. 14 inch is a great size to carry around but still have a nice size screen. Fans almost never turn on because the Apple Silicon runs so cool. Newer processors and batteries give this thing an awesome battery life and it lasts forever in standby if I don’t use it for a couple days. Screen looks amazing and very pleased Apple added the 120hz screen finally.
