Excellent Laptop, but a bit heavy next to the air

Solid laptop, amazing screen. I had the M1 Macbook Air, and, while I love the weight, and even shape of the air, the screen resolution was too low for me, I couldnt fit my spreadsheet and web interfaces on the smaller 1440x900 retina resolution, so I jumped up to a Pro. It's feels much heavier, because of the shape and size, it feels like a brick, especially, in the bag, compared to the M1 Air. But I adore the extra screen space, and double the memory. I'm torn, I love the air still, but I love the new pro. I have a desktop already, so I don't need the power of the pro on the road. If you need the extra ram, extra cpu cores, go for the 14" Pro all the way, if you just need web browsing, and office applications, the Air is totally fine. I can even game on it a little. I wish I could get a bit higher resolution on the Air, I'd not have switched.

    Never going back to PC

As a long time PC user switching to mac is tough. Or so I thought. Now that I have switched, I wonder what took me so long. I use this as my daily driver and I haven’t faced any issues with lag/ undue updates. I use Citrix for work which essentially uses Windows and I feel the windows vdi runs much smoother on Mac than on PC. Strange but true. The speaker quality on this puts my Sony 75 inch TV to shame. The M1 Pro has been powerful enough to run anything I throw at it pretty well. No jitters at all. I do a lot of coding and most of the day on VDI. I never used this to game so can’t comment on the gpu performance.

Was due for an upgrade. One of the best laptops Apple has made in a while. Can get everything done on it (work, music, editing). Definitely recommend it.

Everything you've read about this computer is true. The screen is incredible sharp and the high refresh rate is a step above average laptops. The performance is on par with higher end desktops and is perfect for professional workflows. 10/10.

Well-built, fast, AMAZING display, and insane battery life. With light day-to-day usage, I can get a week or more between charges. Went from a clunky gaming laptop to this...huge upgrade.

    Almost Perfect

Let me preface this by saying, if you are not a power user, you will probably not notice the difference between this and the base M1 MacBook Pro. But if you look at the price of a regular M1 MacBook Pro with 16gb of RAM and a 512gb ssd, the price difference is $300. The increased screen size, high refresh rate screen, more ports, better webcam, no Touch Bar, and the M1 Pro is absolutely worth it. Now onto the part where it's almost perfect. I still have to use a USB-C to USB adapter for the odd flash drive I need to use. Not a big deal but still inconvenient. Next is battery life. It will be less than the M1 but still very good. Now if you have a lot going on at once, you will notice that charge decrease very quickly. That leads into my biggest gripe but not huge. You only get the base charger. The nice part is that you can buy the charging brick that supports fast charging but it's like $90 and out of stock everywhere. It's not a slow charger by any means but it takes a while longer than my old 2019 i5 MacBook Pro did. Okay summary time. If you do anything productivity based (video/music editing, programming, have a billion tabs open, running multiple displays) buy this base model 14" or any of the upgraded versions. You will notice a difference. If it's a Netflix machine or you spend most of your time just surfing the web, you waste your money over the regular M1 Macs. The best thing you can do too is get Totaltech offered by Best Buy because that made my AppleCare free and Geek Squad set it up during my appointment after my pickup.

Great laptop. Works faster with M2 processor. 14” size is very handy and less weight. In past, I had 13” , 15” but 14” is perfect for eyesight and easy to use

What a great machine… I am blown away by the improvement in battery life and performance from intel based Macs to the Apple silicon processors. After a month with this, I couldn’t even consider going back to a PC.

Best display, performance per battery life, usability, speakers in a laptop. Apple has unmatched quality compared to other laptops. This is both a mobile workstation AND a normal use laptop, allowing a lot of flexibility with use.

The best MacBook. the new Air is also wonderful, but nothing can match the speed of even the base MacBook Pro. It's a little heavier than I'd like, but it is also essentially a desktop replacement in a 14" form factor. I love it.

I needed a new laptop as my personal one was very old and my company laid us off. My iPad is okay, but I needed something more full functioned. I've had several Windows-based laptops over the years. They all function as expected. They also slow down a bit over the first couple months as you load the programs you need on them. This is not the case with the MacBook Pro 14". It's as fasts as it was when I first opened it. Everything is great...it supplements all my Apple gadgets very well. Even the sound quality is amazing. I highly recommend the laptop. I was frustrated that the new model came out 2 months after I bought this one, but I needed it when I bought it...and don't have any regrets. I would definitely do it again.

Clean, solid build expected from Apple with great performance. I really appreciate the Magsafe charger and extra ports compared to the Macbook Air. Excellent sound for a laptop, and the battery life has been great. It isn’t a huge leap forward, however, so an immediate upgrade from a recent pro level MacBook isn’t necessary.

It’s a MacBook what else I gotta say! It’s fast and exports any video of any size in minutes. It’s an editing beast and it’s got an amazing screen. You want a MacBook buy the 14inch pro. Keep in mind the m2 just came out tho
