Super glad they took it to Nintendo. The graphics on the Switch 2 are wonderful. The only downside is that it uses a lot of battery. Playing consistently, a full charge will go down to under 40% if I play for a little over an hour. Technically, that’s good but a little annoying.

Madden 26 on the new Nintendo Switch 2 completely exceeded my expectations. The graphics look sharper than ever, and the gameplay feels incredibly smooth thanks to the Switch 2’s upgraded performance. My 5-year-old has fallen in love with it — he’s learned how to call plays, celebrate touchdowns, and even recognizes some of the players now! What I really like is how accessible it is for both kids and adults. The controls are easy to pick up, but the game still delivers that classic Madden realism and strategy that longtime fans expect. We’ve been playing side-by-side in handheld mode and then docking it to finish a game on the big screen — the transition is seamless. If you’re a football fan or just want a fun, family-friendly sports game, Madden 26 on Nintendo Switch 2 is an absolute win. It’s brought a ton of excitement (and a few touchdown dances) to our living room!

Madden NFL 26 finally delivers the full Madden experience Nintendo fans have been waiting for... and it absolutely shines on the Switch 2. From the moment kickoff hits, it’s clear this is not a watered-down port. The game runs smooth, looks sharp, and feels responsive, with player movement, animations, and physics that are miles ahead of previous handheld iterations. Passing arcs feel precise, cuts are crisp, and defensive reactions feel smart and impactful. Visually, Madden 26 is impressive on Switch 2 hardware. Stadiums are lively, lighting is dynamic, player models are detailed, and broadcast-style presentation makes each game feel like Sunday football. Crowd reactions, commentary, and replays all add to that authentic NFL atmosphere. Gameplay-wise, this is one of the most balanced and satisfying Maddens in years. The new mechanics reward football IQ... reading defenses, timing routes, managing stamina, and making smart adjustments actually matter. Whether you’re grinding Franchise mode, building a squad, or jumping into quick games, everything feels polished and intentional. Modes are robust and intact. Franchise is deep and engaging, on-the-field strategy feels meaningful, and the ability to take Madden on the go without sacrificing quality is a game-changer. Being able to dock at home or play handheld without losing performance is exactly what fans hoped for. Most importantly, Madden 26 on Switch 2 feels respected... like Nintendo players are finally getting the same premium experience as other platforms. Bottom line: If you love football and own a Switch 2, Madden NFL 26 Standard Edition is an easy recommendation. It’s smooth, authentic, feature-rich, and genuinely fun. This is the Madden that proves handheld NFL gaming can be taken seriously... and it sets a strong foundation for the future.

I was happy to hear Madden coming back to Nintendo after years nothing. Its great to have this portable and on the go anywhere. Graphics look pretty good. Has everything the other platforms have. Yes it has some stuttering but to me doesn't affect game play. I played version on Xbox Series X and it stutters too. So im sure a patch can fix some of it. Have not played online but has option and watched some YouTuber's and online seems good. I wished EA would have put game on keycard which would have saved over 50GB of space! Overall i am enjoying it.

This version of Madden is great if you want to play handheld and offline which is what i bought ut for. I believe the PS5 and Xbox versions are a better option if you want a big screen, online experience as graphics are better on those consoles. Overall couldnt be happier with playing Madden handheld and being able to take it on the go!

The game runs well in my opinion with a few stutters but not really in gameplay more-so in loading screens otherwise its a competent way to play the game on the go and has eveything the other consoles have, only thing is some glitches not present in other versions but it has no glitches where xbox or Playstation do.

Great graphics, looked like we were watching a real football game, my kids loved playing this game they played all Christmas Day, I’m so glad they finally made Madden football 2026 for the Nintendo switch 2 game, we’ve been waiting patiently for it to arrive and it was well worth the wait, would definitely recommend to buy this game, I got it on sale at Best Buy before the holiday season began, it looks like it is still on sale at Best Buy. I would definitely recommend picking one up

I haven't played Madden since I had a PS2 so it's taking some getting used to. But the gameplay and graphics are excellent, couple glitches here and there during videos but not during gameplay. I've enjoyed it so far.

Great new presentation features and it's great to have a portable version of Madden for on the go. Not too noticeable slowdown in certain cutaway scenes, but given that this is the first time on the Switch 2, it'll only improve from here.

Good port for the game. The game has gotten to be a little too difficult for kids without it being on beginner mode. Fun for adults or those who enjoy the NFL.

There hasn't been a Madden game on Nintendo in a very long time, and while this game looks nice on the box art, and it does look pretty good, the idea to make it run at 30fps to make the box graphics looks good is ridiculous. The game is very laggy if you're used to playing this on any other platform, including playing it on a handheld on the Asus Ally. If EA had simply lowered the graphics settings, or gave a performance option, this wouldn't be an issue, but it completely changes the way the game feels as everything is so laggy you have to constantly hit the buttons for everything sooner than you do on anything other platform, completely ruining the timing. If you haven't played a Madden game in 10-15 years, then maybe it won't be an issue, but it is an issue. The other inexcusable issue is the lack of giving the user an option to use non-Nintendo button layout. Again, if you're coming from any other platform, you're used to playing the game a certain way, and because of the stupid button layout Nintendo uses, flipping the buttons backwards, everything gets screwed up. You want to throw to the open guy, who has a B above his head, oh right, you have to throw to A, or wait, no, yes, that's it. But also, want to throw to Y, well that's backwards too. There is no reason they couldn't have a toggle that just says use a different layout, or let you label everything yourself. This is the true game breaker. Been playing on XBOX and/or PC since 2001 - and it's impossible to flip your brain around to ignore your muscle memory, and it could have been easily remedied. Not sure if EA or Nintendo is at fault, but it's inexcusable. They could easily fix the two things above with a patch, but you know they won't do it since they want to sell you the fixed version next year as a new game. Skip this version unless you've never played a Madden game before or you haven't played one since the Wii U days.
