They release the game 1ce a year and what they do is they add only 1 little change to it and it makes people buy it... why you might ask well think about it. Madden nfl From EA is the only company that makes football games. Others such as basketball have a challege which is 2k5 sports so others have to compete for best changes in game but madden doesnt have to make too much of the change to make people buy it

I have been playing madden since I had a super nintendo and this is the most disappointment i've felt for this game in a while. While I feel they made some good changes, I feel that the most important part of the game was forgotten, and that is the actual game! The graphics on the PS3 is poor and the gameplay is flawed like no other. however, I don't expect 09 to be this horrid. Just wait for 09.

overall the game is pretty amazing, it is very realistic but the loading time does take awhile. The one thing that is the greatest about this game is that john madden does not do the announcing in this game and if you are an avid madden player you now how annoying he was in the previous games.

Gameplay Wins Championships!

This is arguably the best installment of Madden since the 2004 version on the PS2. The gameplay has reached an entirely new level that no other football game can touch. You have complete control of your offense and defense while on the field and the new Weapons help you make sure that your opponent is on his/her toes at all times.
The graphics could use a little improvement in some areas (kickoffs, crowd, sideline players) but this is a minor issue. The menus are slow sometimes and the announcer leaves much to be desired.
The PS3 version only runs at 30 FPS, but if you have never played a 60 FPS version of an EA sports football game, you will not notice the difference. It feels just like any other football game you have played before.
Must have game on any system, hands down!

This is a fun game just like all the previous maddens. However, this game is filled with glitches and other stupid things that I have noticed.
Glitches:
>Sometimes during the loading it will just remain at a loading page and you need to restart the game.
>During my franchise mode I can train players in the regular season but in pre-season it will not pick up your controller.
>When you pick a ball in the air and get hit in the air when you come down you can get back up and return it. . .(not sure if it is a rule or a glitch but I really think it is a glitch happened for times already. This one I didn't mind however, since I picked it lol)
Few things that I noticed that bothered me is that there is no chain gang on the sidelines or officials in the field. That seems like such a small issue that doesn't affect gameplay, but it's next gen people they could at least put them back in.
Other than that it is a fun game and if you are a madden fan it then save your money if you have 07 and hopefully next year's will be better.

Madden is fun, but very different at the same time. Good game modes as always (franchise and all star mode). Great players and teams. Player attributes are fair.
The graphics look like a PS2 game. Online gameplay is very unsmooth and laggy. Kind of the same thing year after year.
I never thought I say this, but in my opinion NCAA Football 08 is way better.

Wait for Madden 2009...

It's fun to play in franchise mode...that's about all...dissapointing game, very boring overall. Unfortunately, I wish I had more to say about this title this year...but, nope. Wait for 2009 and look to have your mind and eyes blown away in gameplay and graphic amazement, because this year just doesn't cut it for next gen gaming.

THIS IS ANOTHER GOOD FOOTBALL GAME, GRAPHICS ARE REALISTIC, BUT THE 2007 MADDENS PLAY CALLING WAS BETTER, THIS YEARS IS A BIT CONFUSING AND ITS HARD TO A PLAY YOUR LOOKING FOR. ALSO THE ANNOUNCING COULD BE BETTER, BUT OVERALL ITS A GOOD GAME.

I think this game is pretty fun.First of all, the graphics are amazing. It makes you fell like you're really there. Gameplay is pretty good too. It was all the features of the previous Madden games: sprint, dive, jump, spin, and all that. Except now, sprint is R2. It's kinda hard to get used to, but it is easier. Also, certain players have new "abilities". Like smart safeties have the ability to read the offenses play every so often, and smart quarterbacks can read the defense's play every so often. So, that's what I liked about this game and I would recommend to anyone looking for a football game.

Best Sports game of all time!

This Madden was unbelieveable. I expected another one of those throw-and-catch Maddens that I'm used to, but this one definitely impressed me. In usual maddens, you could just throw a hail mary, and the players, being unrealistic, would easily catch it. In this game, they have icons for special players like "Hands" and if your reciever has hands, then he will make an outstanding catch. They have weapons like Smart QB, Smart Linebacker, Speed, and many more! Madden has also stepped up on their graphics. Online mode is amazing once again, and overall this is the game of the year! Get it!

This game is really great, But there are some problems. The graphics seem kinda different an fake. The ask coach feature isnt there anymore. And it seems just, odd. It feels like a game for the PS2 or Gamecube. But, overall it is still playable and it is still a very fun game.

PS2 version is better

I will make this short and to the point.
PS3 is unplayable.
Madden voice is not heard on the PS3 version only a genric radio announcer. PS2 still has Madden and company.
The screen is too small except on a wide screen TV. (Excess of 32")
The controls are counter intuitive. (The controls can be changed, but it is a hassel).
The play is more arcade than simulation. With all the symbols over the ley players and all the special abilities, it seems like I was playing a game for Nintendo not Sony.
Mini games are gone, along with Madden cards.
The graphics are amazing but not enough to make up for the bad game play. I played the game for one day and then went and bought the PS2 version. I will not play the PS3 version again, however I am enjoying the PS2 version.

Great game to play with lots of Extras. The only thing that this game needs is another year to fix all the glitches in the game. If your just into playing online and not looking into Franchise your golden with this game. Be sure to check up on the fixes to the glitches.

The gameplay is much better. If you bought the Madden 2007 for this console you ere probably disaappointed but... Madden 2008 is an outstanding game. They put back many of the features that were missing from previous Madden titles and added a new component of play which adds to the experience. Overall so far this is the best sport title for the console. Go out and buy it!!!

I'll keep it as to the point as possible as many have already hit on a lot of the good sides and some negatives of Madden 08 - Madden, to me, is HORRIBLE on the PS3. I was in literal shock after being amped up by the opening vid (GREAT opening vid, folks!!) then being thrown to the grown by a horribly lackluster looking and animating game.
I like the new features they added and certain things are great but the big flaw is the graphic resolution and frame rate. It really has an affect on the game. Things look non-HD because of the lower resolution and I really don't think it's even running at 30fps like they say it does. Really choppy and hard to tell what's going on at times. The PS2 version actually looks fantastic next to this one and I'm not a graphics whor- but at this stage of the gaming age we're in (been gaming since the dawn of videogames), ALL HD VIDEOGAMES SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE HIGH RESOLUTION AND GOOD FRAME RATE, PERIOD, END OF STORY!!
I just got a PS3 on Fri, although I had Madden 08 for PS3 for weeks before, and traded in my PS2 version along with my PS2 after tussling with myself as to whether I should get rid of my PS2 version of Madden 08. Bad idea. 2 days later, I ended up trading in the PS3 version (and All Pro Football 2K8, but that's another review - lol) to get Madden 08, again, on my PS2. I just couldn't deal especially after playing the beautifully gorgeous 360 version.
Another major issue that I probably would have gotten used to if I kept it is the unintuitive button assignments. Although being able to assign the buttons where u like, it's still not Madden with stiff arming button being relegated to only one button. Me, personally, need two for my triggers.
Other than that, I can live without the play-by-play announcers, for the time being, so that's not a biggie although Madden NEEDS MUCH BETTER PRESENTATION!!! (EA, get on that RIGHT AFTER you fix the resolution and frame rate issues for PS3)...
Oh, yea - Where are the refs and chain gang with the first down markers??? Missing in the PS3 and 360 versions. Only time you see a ref is when the rendered real life NFL ref Edward Hochuli shows up to make a call.
I guess this took longer than I thought - HEHE! - but, again, buyer BEWARE.

Solid Football Game

Now that i've played numerous games of Madden 08 I feel like I can give an honest review. It is by far the best football game i've ever played. Although it could use some upgrades. Example more fluent movement from players, meaning when I move right the player imediately goes right, it doesn't turn right like a human would. Second, some more options while going through the franchise draft would be great. Other than those two things the game is near flawless. If I had two thumbs they would be up.

Madden for the ps3 is better then the 360. i wouldnt reccomend this game because it gets really boring the graphics are good but the game is just not so good i expect madden 09 to have more features and to do better.
