In addition, it looks amazing on Xbox One X and MUT has been significantly upgraded. No more crappy contracts for your players. Instead, you can get buy without having to purchase points for packs. Like I said, everything seems significantly better compared to last year’s version.

A longtime fan of NFL Football games, going back to madden 95 on Sega Genesis, yes I played earlier releases from Joe Montana or Tecmo Bowl, but Madden 95 was when I became old enough and aware enough, to really evaluate a game and understand the details and nuances of a developer getting it right. in the years since, I’ve grown to love all that is right about a Visual Concepts developed football game and minorly dislike EA Developed games. More neutral than dislike, but definitely never was in love with it, since abiut Madden 2001. Too many AI failures and graphical glitches. Over the years have lead me to stray away from playing and enjoying the only game of the sport I enjoy an awful lot. That’s about as negative as I will get about the series over the years, like I said, I don’t hate it, just neutral about it. Now I say all that, to say this... 15 years later, it is what it is. To say the developer is not trying is a far cry. A transition of at least 3 game engines alone in the last 5 years should tell you, they are indeed making an honest effort to find that sweet spot. To evolve the game, and to develop it properly. And rather than sitting back with a heavy judgemental eye, I realized this, as a former collegiate athlete myself, I remembered how random and impossible it is to predict every movement and outcome of an impact in real life, how could I expect them to get it so perfectly right in simulation when the real sport itself has so many variables on each in every play. So I stopped waiting for “perfect” because perfect is never going to come. No matter how selfish or (financially motivated) EA was to purchase the exclusive license or perhaps how inconsiderate the NFL was if it’s fans to let their financial motivations for exclusive deals to taint the waters of gaming, I realized I should appreciate that it is still available on all platforms and being updated, arguably in some ways but still being updated on a regular basis. All politics aside, this is football. And at this point, if we put honest effort into learning the nuances like offensive and defensive schemes, and control timings, this release of Madden can be very rewarding and fun to play. If you were ever on the fence about it, at sub $30-$40 it’s an easy purchase. Pickup, play, practice and learn, get better and enjoy. So many details have came along way in terms of production values. If you’re a fan of the sport, it’s a rewarding offering, and entertaining to say the least. Yes, I too wish the Visual Concepts team at 2K Sports could get in on the fun, but considering that’s not happening any time soon, here’s a toast to what’s now.

After spending some quality time with Madden '19, I can honestly say that for the first time in years, the series is headed in the right direction. The running game is a challenge, which is a good thing. You will need to practice running in the practice mode to get a feel for it and to retrain yourself in order to succeed with your ball carriers. The overall player animations look more fluid then ever before, tackling animations are also improved and seem more varied and natural. I am still at a loss as to why EA cannot implement a real time physics engine into this game. You will still on occasion see players get sucked into various animations, which takes away from the immersion of the game. It doesn't occur as much as in the past, but it still happens. Without a Madden competitor, this is your only choice for an updated NFL console game. It is nice to see that EA put forth some effort this year and didn't do the usual roster patch that we have been accustomed to seeing. With the game play improvements, I really feel Madden '19 will have some real staying power and replayability. There are some glitches popping up during the online MUT sqaud games, but hopefully with some patching, this will be resolved. The glitches in my opinion are an unfortunate consequence of EA installing the new Real Player Motion into the game. Like any game, when you start tinkering with the engine to make improvements, sometimes things can get a little out of whack. I haven't experienced glitching in the single player offline mode, so it might be only impacting online play at this time. That being said, I think the game is worth picking up. A definite step up from '17 & '18. I hope this helped.

Madden NFL 19 is a game that I have a love hate relationship with. On the one hand, it's graphics are beautiful. The animations recieved a much needed upgrade, and crowds look the best they've ever been in a madden game. Some modes, like Franchise mode recieved some nice upgrades (the ratings upgrade system is significantly improved), but was largely left ignored. I'm biased in sports games because these mods are my favorite in sports game, but Madden has largely left these modes ignored for the fifth year in a row. That said, there's still plenty of good. The commentary is improving, the sounds on the field are realistic, and the overall presentation is solid, with the execption of replays, which often times leave you on an awkward angle where you can't even see the play.
Without question, the most infuriating mode is Home Coming. The mode is absoletely a joke, lasting a mere 3 hours without completing an NFL season (again). This mode is an embarrasement to sports gaming and needs to be done, from the ground up.

Madden NFL is back again and it does not disappoint! I can only speak to the Ultimate Team mode because that is all that I play. There is new content added nearly everyday, which keeps the game from feeling stale. I love that there are new promos being added and new challenges to face. this will be in rotation well after football season is over.

What Madden 19 lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up for by improving its fundamentals. The folks at EA have steadily been improving player motion and physics each year, but this version represents a great leap forward for the franchise. Last year, player movement was smooth and fluid and the players almost seemed to glide. That isn’t the case in Madden 19. The players run more like actual human beings with joints and muscles. They don’t feel like race cars. This is all thanks to what EA is calling Real Player Motion. If you are worried about a the players having herky-jerky movement, don’t. Once you get the hang of the new controls, not only does the action feel more realistic, your efforts to avoid defenders feel earned without seeming impossible.

I love the game the graphics are amazing. The added touch of touchdown celebrations is a great added feature. The running needs to be fixed but I'm sure it will since the game is still new. Great football action can't wait to build my team.

I will be upfront, I have not bought a Madden title for awhile since I never really felt value in purchasing the game year-over-year for an 'update' of player rosters and some other gimmicks I was not interested in to play football. But I purchased this to get back in ot the game to prep for the release of Madden 20 and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by how much better the graphics have gotten and the game play is much much better. I really enjoyed this game and would highly recommend it for anyone...but the price still bothers me each year as I still think you should be able to just purchase an updated payer roster to go with your game instead of having to fork over $65-$120 bucks to get a 'new' game each year.

This game finds the perfect balance between fun gameplay and real life football simulation. Players look and feel like their TV counter-parts, while the multiple game modes make this a worthy title. Longshot: Homecoming is every bit as good as the inaugural Madden story mode, while the Madden Ultimate Team mode has been the gem of the series the past few years, with this inception proving to be the best yet. The addition of playing Madden Ultimate Team Squads against the CPU and the new MUT Battles mode insure this game will continue to be played until next August.

Madden 19 is definitely an upgrade worth getting, if your just into playing franchise mode or playing with friends get the regular edition. Personally ive never played ultimate team so i cant say the hall of fame edition is worth it. Just got it cause it released three days earlier. But graphics in this game are solid and the gameplay runs alot smoother then that last. Updated roster is a must have if your really into Football. Overall pretty good pick up for nfl fans. All games would be worth waiting for till black friday fyi.
