Even though I was late picking up Madden 25 (the next Madden was already out), I still had to get it — and I’m so glad I did! I usually buy Madden games digitally, but as a huge 49ers fan, I had to get the physical copy for Xbox Series X because Christian McCaffrey on the cover made it a must-own.
Gameplay-wise, I’ve already put in over 100 hours, mostly in Superstar Mode. The highlight for me was being able to transfer my character from NCAA Football 25 — it was so cool seeing my player go from college to the NFL. That level of connectivity and continuity between the games really makes the experience feel personal and immersive.
If you’re into career modes and love following your player’s journey, or if you're a fellow 49ers fan, I can’t recommend Madden 25 enough — even if you're grabbing it late like I did!

Loving it so far. I miss some of the franchise features from past versions but what's there is great, love the mini games, it looks amazing, gameplay is fantastic and must importantly it's fun to play. Getting my son into it too, he likes playing on the same team.

Bought this for grandson and he really loves it / plays really smooth he’s been wanting it so this Christmas we got it for him now if we can just get him to stop playing it long enough so the other grandson can play it will all be ok

As a dedicated Madden player since the days of Live 1986, I can confidently say that Madden 25 on Xbox continues the tradition of delivering a fantastic NFL experience. The yearly tweaks and improvements are genuinely noticeable, making this iteration feel fresh and engaging. The graphics are top-notch, and the gameplay is the smoothest and most responsive yet. For anyone who loves football and the Madden franchise, this year's version is a definite must-buy for your Xbox. Best Buy delivered the game quickly and in perfect condition, making the purchase experience just as satisfying as playing the game itself.

I haven't played a Madden game in a few years, so I'm not sure I could be as discerning a reviewer as most regular players. I can say that overall, I enjoy the gameplay except for EA really needs an overhaul of their layout. So much is dependent on their online servers that you're constantly waiting for loading or having issues with your saved game.
I was deep into a Franchise mode and while it loaded, it somehow temporarily "lost" my saved data. Where it shows the yellow box with the coach's name, it was missing. This only happened one time so far and thankfully, after I exited the game and restarted my Xbox, it came up, finally.
Also, I would like to be able to tweak certain parts of the Franchise mode where I don't have to negotiate contracts. I work in the finance department for a living.. I don't want to escape into a game to deal with more finances.

I haven’t had a new madden since 2019 and haven’t felt the need to update. Yeah, some players are on their old teams and newer players are missing. But it was still fun to play and also, some players that aren’t in the league are still there. So it goes both ways. Plus. You can upload a custom team and get the newer team if you care, and I didn’t. But I would recommend this to anyone having an older game.
I honestly upgraded because my son wanted a new version of the game. He’s getting older and taking a lot more interested in football than one of the new players. It was on sale, so I said let’s get it. Well worth the upgrade. Six years old, the graphics are definitely noticeably better. I wouldn’t upgrade for the graphics alone, but you will find that they are noticeably better. Having the newest teams, one year old when I got it, is of course a great thing. Gameplay is fun and my son is especially enjoying playing with his favorite players and to be honest, so am I.
Also, I have an Xbox One S and no plans of upgrading, so this was the last version that supported my Xbox. I’m putting that out in case anybody else is in the same boat. You won’t be getting a newer version later, so go for this one.

Even though it's the same thing but newer year I love Madden so I'm biased I guess in my opinion. Still wish you could play in all modes with your Madden team.
