    The Oven Control "buttons" are too small, hard to see and ill-lit. The kitchen light has to be turned on to see to press the "buttons". The Power Level has to be set every time you operate the micro wave - an unnecessary step. We miss the faithful Panasonic we used so many years. An unfortunate operator's mistake took its life. We bought the Magic Chef because it had a handle like our Panasonic - unfortunately, Panasonic uses push button door openers now -not handles. Also, the Panasonic was 2 inches wider - a huge difference in cooking space.

  • Does Not Cook to Precise Times in Seconds

    I was disappointed to discover that this model can only cook on its own (without user interruption) in one-minute increments (past the thirty-second option). I called Magic Chef and they confirmed this for me. Thus, I do not find this microwave useful for my purposes since I would like to cook frozen items for their specified times without having to hover over the microwave to stop it in the middle of a minute. I was not aware that any microwave ovens lacked the ability to cook to times specified down to the second (such as one minute and fifteen seconds). I will be returning this unit today and shopping more intelligently aftwerward.
