I live in a apartment& I got tired of certain groups of people hugging up thhe washer machines. Plus paying extra to rewash my clothes as it felt like it wasnt well. So I went in the store n purchased this as a special order because I live in HI. I received it n it was real easy to understand this n how to operate its puch button functions. It came with the sink adapter. However because the hoses were the generic kind I went to Hardware Hawaii n purcahsed the steel water line so it can handle the adjustments. Performance everything is perfect n well worth the buy. I like the extra spin only cycle. My clothes feel a million times better n the line dry is about 1/2 an hr on a hot day or 2 hrs on a cold day. The only problem is the remaining water in the drain hose. So I figure if I open the lint trap on the bottom the remaining water drains. Yupp! It totally works. I love this machine. Ive been using this for about 3 months n I have no regrets.. Ty!

I live in Hawaii and they don't sell these things on the floor. So I had to order mines specially and pay for these outright, because their website wouldn't allow me to order it either. So into the store I went to order it in person and pay for it in full. I was told it would take 3 weeks but it took almost 2 weeks instead. When I opened it - it has some kind of salt residue and water droplets. So we took it as they tested the washer before it was shipped to us. So I followed the directions for hookup and ran the washer the next morning and it ran perfectly. When it was on the spin cycle, I walked out of my apartment and the noise did NOT ECHO in the hallways at all. Mind you I only wash during the busy hours such as the day light times instead of the midnight times as I live on the main drag street where the buses run. Which drowns out the sounds of the washer being in use. Anywho I LOVE all of the features and it's allowed me to save money on the dryer too. I DON'T use the community washer or dryer anymore. With the extra spin cycle I can spin out more water on the jeans or heavier items so I can just air dry it. I did NOT or have a apartment dryer that I bought seperately I just bought a $18, 2 Tier Garment rack at Walmart and a hanging drying rack for a couple of bucks and it's solved my dryer money issues too! This machine is AWESOME. I've had it for more than 6 months before I typed this review and I'm more than satisfied with this. For the washing loads and how much it can hold is impressive too! I can wash 5 xl beach towels or a twin size throw blanket with a queen size sheet in it's large drum size. Another thing that I like too is on the inside there is a filter that catches the lint, with my 2 dogs this is an awesome feature. I did buy on Amazon also later these drainage hose lint catchers to avoid any clogs into the pipes. The only downside to this, which is not a problem for me but maybe for someone else is the draining tube. Once I'm done using the machine after all my loads there's still water in the drain line. So I unscrew the backside of the green circle and the rest of the water is drained out into a pot that I put down in front of it. This green circle is behind the washer unit on the bottom. Once I unscrew this the water drains out and I screw it back in. I really do like this machine alot and will be using it until this dies on us, muahhaha... This purchase was worth our money and we have NOT regretted it. Thank you...

Looked extensively on-line for small washers with at least a 2.0 load capacity. The Magic Chef 2.1 cu. ft. was the ONLY one I found that would fit in the space where my previous washer sat. I struck gold!! It's quiet, takes decent load, and easy to use.
One suggestion: When I hooked it up and gave it a trial run (no load or soap), a small amount of water ran out from underneath. All connections checked out fine. Then I noticed the soap compartment was open. The water inlet is naturally behind the soap container and works as it should when that container is closed, but some water hits the back of the container if it's left open. That water does not make it into the tub. Maybe an instruction could be written into the user manual re: make sure the soap dish is closed before operating.
So far this washer is just what I need for my park model trailer!!!! Very happy with it!!

I have been looking into an alternative to going into my basement to do my wash for years. And the expense of having plumbing and electrical work was more than I wanted to spend. Plus it would be a little crowded in my bathroom. Hence the laundromat for the last 15 years. Although doing a weeks worth of wash for a family of 6 in 3 hours was nice.
Since my children are moving away I finally decided to try out this washer. I have only washed 10 loads. I love it.
It is larger than I thought it would be. And it is quiet enough to run after my family is in bed.
I didn't buy the dryer when I ordered the washer because I wanted to make sure that I liked the washer. I have been hanging my clothes on a drying rack. But, since I am pleased with the washer I am ordering the dryer also.

It's easy to use, very quiet, no need to monitor. Just set it to start & done before I know it. Wish it was easier to move. Saving quarters & inconvenience of the laundromat! !

I am using the washer for the first time and am sitting next to it to baby sit it's first run. I just noticed from my point of view of where I am sitting that the entire back panel was bowed out. When I inspected it closer I saw the grey plastic is busted where the screws hold it in place, and welds are completely busted on the bottom right metal portion. I was already annoyed that there was a small dent on the side of the washer when it came out of the box, and now I am extremely upset.

Works great the only issue is you can not do really large load or a little water comes out on spin cycle. But if you run medium to small load it works great

Machine takes large loads and spins dries well; however, I live in an apartment building that does not have a hook up for washing machines because it is not allowed. I have to screw and unscrew the hose to the kitchen faucet in order to use machine weekly. It can be a little annoying. Will buy a better hose as the one it came with is already leaking and would tighten on faucet correctly.

Nice washer for an apartment or small area. Does a nice job washing.the clothes. I don't see much difference between heavy and normal wash settings though, other than the heavy cycle runs longer. Beware though, mine was shipped UPS and what a nightmare getting it delivered.

I was a little skeptical about purchasing this because of the brand. When I think of "chef" I think kitchen...I also had a Haier washer and dryer a few years back and the dryer SUCKED and the washer was somewhat small and eh.
So far so great! The machine is a bit bulky but for the most part it's fairly large. I roll solo and do about 3 loads a week and is why I went with the larger of the two.
The amount one spends going to the laundry mat in a year, smart buy and hope it lasts longer than a year. 25.00*12 months, 300.00 a year at the laundry mat equals...
Buy yourself a Magic Chef and call it a day ; o p
