We have had magicJack for years and it is excellent! It is a real steal for the price you pay per year. There are a few minor issues such as no name coming through on caller ID. You just get the phone number and a “V” if it’s a verified number. You pay $49.99 plus a small 911 fee and you have a home phone and you can also put the app on your iPhone so that you can make and receive calls via your magic jack line right from your iPhone. It’s like having two phone lines on your iPhone! I wouldn’t trade this service for the world!

Works like a champ. We bought this as part of our break from Spectrum. Was easy to sign up and easy to install. We do miss our caller ID on TV from spectrum, but you can't beat the savings. Even better, if you prepay for the next 5 years, you get an even bigger discount for service. My only complaint would be that it took 7 days to port our old number from Spectrum to MagicJack. If you opt for a new number, you will be up and running instantly. If you are planning to port a number just plan ahead and everything will be fine.

I’ve had a MagicJack 2nd line for many years. The line and voice quality was never quite good enough to ditch my main line. However with their latest hardware, it is and I did. Porting my main number over was cheap and easy and I’m saving about $30/mo. If you’re old school and like a home phone, and have good broadband, this works.

I was a Vonage user for many years, mainly because of their international coverage - especially when my daughter was travelling overseas a lot. It made calling her affordable. In the past year, I decided to downsize things that were no longer providing the best bang for the buck and so I switched to MagicJack. The suond quality and service are as good or better than Vonage and the yearly cost is a fraction of what I was paying.

magicJack has been around for a long time and while I have heard good things I was wary about using their service considering how inexpensive they are and since this was for my elderly father. He lives in a rural area which isn't remote but has pretty crappy cell phone reception. Originally part of a "triple play" package he got Cable, Internet and Phone in one package but when the only Cable provider around jacked up the fees to a ridiculous level, they wanted $29.99 per month just for phone plus local taxes and fees, I figured for $26 per year it was worth trying. After 9 months of service I am quite happy with them and saved over $200. During that time, the service started to "echo". I was easily able to get a live customer support representative to help troubleshoot and in under an hour they said it was the device itself and sent me a new one for free. The new one continues to give great call quality. The biggest drawback I have found is International calling requires a pre-paid calling card who's value does expire. So if you need to make a lot of those this probably isn't the service for you. The companion app does allow you to receive calls on your cell phone or your old "landline". But only ONE cell phone. So if you have a few people who use that landline number that's an issue. And finally, there was an issue I ran into when using magicJack to call into certain teleconferencing services like Zoom. And who hasn't used Zoom during this pandemic? I would dial the local Zoom number and be told my plan didn't cover the call. Which was odd.

Wonderful! I wished I had purchased it long ago. My husband has insisted on keeping our landline phone number all these years. Our number has followed us from AT& T internet, Vonage, and Cox Cable internet for years. Read online the Magic Jack reviews and decided to try it. To my surprise I was able to hook it up myself and I have no experience with doing this what so ever. The reviews said anyone can do it and they are right. But of course follow all instructions on keeping your number. It was all a great experience and it has been 9 months and all is going well. My only regret is I have not had time to use all the features available like call blocking etc. Mrs.S

My brother in law has used a MagicJack for over 5 years and loved it. Decided I wanted to save money too and bought the magicJack. Extremely easy to install/setup. I had my phone number ported to the magic jack which was done in about 3 days even though they say may take up to 10 days. Calls are crystal clear. LOVE the feature that blocks robo calls!! This feature requires anyone calling our number to select a random 1 digit number to complete the call. With my AT&T land line I was paying $420 per year. With MagicJack it costs $39 or if you renew for a 3 year prepay after the first year I believe it is $89 for 3 years!! Great option to reduce your expenses.

One of the best purchases I've made. I thought I had a low phone bill with Vonage, then Basic Talk, but MagicJack has better services, and better online phone service/bill management capability, and is much cheaper! Great for blocking/screening Robocalls and Telemarketers. System asks caller to enter a number, (which changes randomly per call), to complete the call and be able to leave a voicemail. A computerized Robocall system can't do that! If the call comes from a human telemarketer - they can dial the access number and leave a message but you can block the number after the fact, without answering the call first.

Unlimited local and long distance for under $40 per year? If you have internet, and a household phone system, this module is so incredibly easy to set up. It comes with all of the expected extras; Three-way calling Caller ID Call Waiting Voicemail The best thing is you can install a mobile app on your mobile phone and receive calls to your home from anywhere that you have signal! Never miss another call!
Magic Jack is sometimes underestimated because other voip services are flashier and have better marketing. But for ne as a small business owner all I wanted was a no frills reliable phone for my business. MJ was easy to set up and rock solid reliable. Perfect for my business. I needed a crystal clear phone connection for phone interviews. This has been so much better than terrible cell phone connections!

Works great! Our location is rural and I wasn't sure if it would work very well. But it works wonderfully! Clear and loud! Tip: plug directly into the modem for best sound clarity. It was easy to set up and I'm considering getting a second device.

It's a good replacement for Landline phones where you are paying high prices like ATT. Just wish it didn't change the time on my phone whenever a call comes in and it doesn't really have caller ID. It only ID's the people you have listed in your phone address list. Otherwise just a number is displayed no name. The sound quality is good when talking with someone.

I used this VoIP phone service to convert my old land line to the MagicJack line. I was able to call the help number and they walked me through the process. Very friendly very helpful. I highly recommend this. Your cost is almost one tenth that of a land line phone. You can even set up 911 service so people will come to your right address.

I bought this to use a regular telephone when talking to my parents since using a cell phone was spotty and lower quality. The old MJ+ version started to drop calls and my Mom could hear echoes. This new version is still crystal clear and no more drops or echoes. The only thing I noticed is that there is a delay when dialing out now. Otherwise works great.

I purchased this Magic Jack after I decided to cut the cord to cancel the landline service from Xfinity. The process to port the phone number is very easy, took three days, two days earlier than promised. The voice quality is very good. MagicJack has a mobile app, now I can receive phone calls from my mobile phone even when I'm not at home. Very happy with this product.

I like having a house phone and this is a way cheaper way to keep my landline number going. The total fee to port in my number was $23.22 or you can choose a new number for free. My port was completed in 4 days over a weekend. In my area there's a $11.40 yearly E911 fee. My centurylink bill is $36.41 per month less by taking the phone service off and keeping the DSL internet going. Call quality is fine and the cell phone app is good too.

I have been using this device since it came to market in late 2000's. I have used 3 versions and they have all performed great. I recommend you connect to router rather than PC incase you have to shutdown or it goes to sleep. This way your phone is active and you can also forward it to your cell phone and literally take it with you. It also has an App that you can use in Canada, Mexico or anywhere in the world. Your voicemail is also sent to you in an email. All this for less than $6 a month!
