Great to hold your home phone number

Wanted to phone number without have to really answer/use the phone. Great to have it available. All the features of the usual home phone works well. The install was not extremely clear on what to do, but I got through it. The only other idiosyncrasy is the date/time on the caller-id is in the eastern time zone. But overall, it was money well spent.

magicJack paid for itself in less than two months

MagicJack cost about $60 for a full year including the fee to transfer my existing landline number. I previously had Cox phone service. Cox wanted about $40 per month to provide phone service after I canceled all of my other Cox services as part of a total technology upgrade. MagicJack cost about $60 for a full year including the fee to transfer my existing landline number. I have no further landline costs for the next year. I see no difference in quality between magicJack and Cox. Next purchase - a call blocker to get rid of all of those nuisance calls.

I have been using this magicJack for the past 2 years and I haven't had one problem with it. It works as intended and seems to be stable and reliable. A good option for those. Looking to not use analog wires and want to move to a VoIP home phone.

I got this to port my landline to VOIP. This thing works and the sound quality is as good as before the switch. It is a little bit warm after plugging it to power. There is a $20 fee to port the number and it took a few days. I don't need to contact my previous carrier. It took me some search to find out how to port the phone number though as the description on the simple instruction in the box is not very helpful. Youtube has a good guide for it.

We've had our MagicJack for about a month now and are very happy with it so far. It has every function that your cable company can offer, they just may not operate the same way. Only drawback is if you are porting your number there can be up to a 15-day waiting period before it is fully activated. You can still maker outbound calls, but you will not hear it ring when someone tries to call you. But, you can always check your voicemail quite regularly, or issue an alert to your friends and family about the delay. Then there's always your cell phone ...

I needed the MagicJack kit for it’s adapter. They apparently only seem to last a few years before they “burnout. “ It got me up and running and all I had to do was sign in to my MJ account to notify MagicJack that I was already an existing customer and receive an additional year credit on my subscription. It turned out to be substantially less money than just getting the part from MJ and paying for an additional year subscription or buying the kit from MJ. Also, I got it delivered the next day.

If you need a landline phone number and want the best value at the lowest price, this is the way to go. Very easy to install and within minutes i had a landline up and running. Other companies charge $20 or more per month for a phone line. MagicJack charges $49.88 for a FULL year of service. Buying this product is a no-brainer!

I wanted to eliminate my cable/phone connection. The product gives you 12 months free. My telephone number was ported over within 3 days. My only complaint is the caller ID displays only the number. The lack of display of the name of callers is frustrating.
