I received the device and it didn't work at all. I pulled the device out of the box and tried a DVD in it. The DVD device made lots of noise, but, didn't work at all. I then tried the VCR portion and it didn't produce a picture. I did send the product back and Best Buy honored my return and credited my account. That was the best part.

Had to return this product since the VCR player ate the tape and the DVD player wouldn't work at all. Not sure what this product would have been like if it was brand new - guessing the staff at Best Buy didn't do a very good job checking this refurbished product out before reselling it.

I was very satisfied with the DVD-VCR Combo. Especially the price.

We bought this unit to go in our kids room. We didn't want to spend a lot because we knew they would be starting tapes and manhandling it. If it breaks, we're out $40. It was easy to set up and the kids can work it, no problem (all under age 10). We have had no problems with it. It is a large unit so don't expect sleek and trendy.

Tuner is missing - have to use the power of the TV.

This was listed as Factory Reconditioned with full warranty. It ran for 2 hours then all electronics froze up on the DVD player. It would accept no commands from either the remote or the buttons on the unit. It wouldn't even eject the disk.

I bought an HDMI cable and 25 new DVD-R Dvd's on which to record. I connected the unit to my new SAMSUNG TV (which I bought from Best Buy and which works great!). I programmed 2 shows. Last evening, the unit wouldn't switch to DVD mode; Magnavox Tech Support wasn't able to help me. I was told that even though I couldn't record because the unit doesn't include a Digital Tuner, that I'd be able to watch NetFlix or other DVDs. Obviously, with the unit unable to go into DVD mode, that was incorrect. I'm returning the unit on Saturday.

When ordering I assumed the device had a tuner (Didn't know they came without tuners). Returned for credit.

The second day I used the VHS player it started making a squeaking noise and 2 weeks later it is still making the noise. Pictures show OK. DVD part is fine. I've contacted Best Buy for return of item.

Had to ship it back, and the store doesnt offer a refund, just a credit. The VCR worked fine, but the DVD didnt work at all. I guess that they dont check them out very well before they ship them out.

Over all I am satisfied with my player. I recieved my plater on time. I use my player almost daily. thanks for my player.

In the past I a have personally tried to stay away from these products; not because of here say, but because I have had no luck with them. Fool me once; shame on you, fool me twice.....and I'm out fifty bucks! So far so good.

I am replacing a higher price, better quality unit for my kids. The quality is decent especially for the price. We have had no issues yet as a result of refurbished nature of this product.

IT WAS A GREAT BUY AND A NAME BRAND PRODUCT. I MUST SAY I WOULD TRY THIS KIND OF SERVICE AGAIN. IT PLAYS GREAT AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH SO FAR. I WOULD BUY SOMETHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN REFURBISHED. BECAUSE OF THIS EXPIRENCE.

There are extra steps needed to record live and timer recording requires the tv to be on the station you want to record.

It took just a couple of minutes to set up, sound/video quality is much better than I expected. Bought this so I could use my old workout tapes, and been using it for much more. Very satisfied. Will buy another for family/friends/neighbors soon!

Certainly worth the very low price. It's stone simple for what it is, with decent quality picture.

Great buy but receiving on channel 3 not available. have to use auxiliary channel to play. therefore recording on vhs not available

Fantastic product for forty bucks. The outlet center is a great place to shop.
