This is a well made monopod! I would have liked an all black one but after getting this the red accents are very subtle and have grown on me. I will be adding a tilt head to this so I can go to vertical format easily. Other than that, the lock mechanisms work smoothly and lock tight, having a rubber foot and optional metal spike included is a nice extra. It has a very substantial feel without being heavy or clunky. I'm 5'11" so the 59" height is perfect for my SLR. I like to take wildlife photography so I'm often in the woods under less than ideal lighting conditions. Even with a high ISO setting and image stabilized lens the extra support is nice, Manfrotto makes quality equipment and this monopod is no exception. With the addition of a tilt or ball head it will be perfect. 5 stars for quality and value 4 for needing at the very least a tilt head to make it perfect for still photography, although if you're using it for video it's probably good to go as is. By the way, it's probably sturdy enough to use as a hiking pole!

Was really nervous about buying this item. I am a festival photographer so I normally buy most my items from camera stores but this thing is solid like a rock. Can honestly say I use this all the time and it is my go to!

This is a great purchase for the money, if you don't need something super fancy. The only issue I have is with the head. It tends to unscrew easily, so you have to keep an eye on it during prolonged use.

Great monopod for shooting on the run. I do a lot of nature photography where you just don't have time to set up a large tripod. This give you added stability when shooting with long lenses.

At first usage it seems a bit heavy. But it feels very sturdy and secure. Used a bit like a walking stick. Compacts well and is long enough to use without stooping down to use the viewfinder.

This is a top notch monopod. I was going to get a carbon fiber model that was well over a hundred bucks. This does it for way less and quality is just as the others.
