Awesome Receiver

I had both a Sony ES and a Pioneer SC-55 before this receiver and neither was anything close to the performance of this receiver. I love the fact that I can control it via my phone to play anything in either the Main or Zone 2 areas. The Airplay feature is awesome and we definitely love it. And the sound is so much better than my two older receivers. I read all of the reviews of this receiver and feel that it has lived up to the set expectations.

Replaced my 10yr old Denon with the Marantz SR5010. I've had Marantz products before and I like the sound quality for playing music...the SR5010 does not disappoint. An absolute breeze to set up everything from connecting my iPhone via AirPlay (when you set this up via your iPhone, it automatically configures a connection to your network to be able to play internet radio), speaker calibration, etc. The video up scaling really makes HD programming look that much better on my Samsung curved UHD.

Nice Receiver

This is a nice 4K receiver that produces a great picture and sound. However, you lose the on screen volume display when connected to a 4K source. When connected to an 1080P source, you have an on screen volume display. Since you lose the on screen volume display, most DENON’s have a good size display on the receiver, but this one only has a very small circle display that you can’t see from viewing distance. Don’t get me wrong, with all of the above said, I would still buy this receiver for its great picture and sound. A buyer should also know that this is a Denon product. Denon brought out Marantz so you will notice the same hardware connections, operating system, menu and appearance on the back of the receiver, but they just changed the front display and braded it Marantz.

Great Reciever

Purchased this to replace Onkyo TX-NR 646 that kept losing sound when connected to Directv HR44 when either FF a taped show and or pausing a taped show then playing again. This Reciever wasn't cheap but worth every dollar. Sound is great and works seamlessly with my samsung4k Tv and Directv HR44.

Sounds great, but overheats

This Receiver sounds great... It is complimented by two Bowers and Wilkins tower speakers, HTM62 Center Channel, and a Martin Logan Dynamo 700 Subwoofer. I'm not sure why the receiver is overheating, I have 10inches of space from the top of the unit to the next shelf. Airflow does not appear to be a factor. The unit has shut off on my twice now while listening to music at 73% volume. Very disappointed in the product performance. Waiting to hear back from Marantz to see what my next step is.

First time buying a Marantz product and it has been amazing. Great unit to complete my surround sound needs. Definitely recommend if able to pay the extra cash, well worth it.

This receiver has excellent sound quality. In my progression from Sony ES to Integra to Marantz, this was a logical step up.
