My opinion on this unit can be easily summarized: if you can, buy it. In the last few years I have used receivers from Yamaha, Pioneer, Onkyo and Denon. They were all good devices, but none of them provided the remarkable level of performance given by the SR7010. The video upscaling provides small but noticeable improvement, and the 2.0 HDMI enables full 4K pass through. More than anything else, however, is the quality of the sound, which truly seems to be equal to anything that one hears in a theater. The design of this unit is also unusual and attractive. The small circular display at front center shows volume and source, which is normally all that one needs to know. The fold-down door below the display shows considerably more information when needed, such as the number of speakers in use, the surround mode, and so on. This receiver also runs cool, unlike several others that I have used. Setup is straight-forward, and the onscreen advisor is well organized and very helpful. I had only one problem: at first I couldn't get FH, FW and RH speakers to play simultaneously. I eventually discovered that I hadn't made the correct selections in the "amp assign" menu, and then all was well. Those selections are important, and must be properly done. There may be a better receiver than this one, but I doubt it.

This is one bad receiver that can handle all your entertainment needs from audio to streaming. You name it it can do it. Plus all the newest upgrades in home theater too!!!

Great Receiver with so many ways to adjust almost everything. I easily bi-amped my front speaker. Love the clean look.

Not sure about the negative reviews , but I am very happy with it. Wow is my first reaction. Solid build quality. Easy setup. Accurate reproduction of sound both in music and movies. Future proof(hdmi 2.0a/hdcp 2.2/DTS:x). Was able to drive speakers that's rated 4ohms and lower with no issues, with room to spare. Liked it better than Denon and pioneer receivers. AirPlay and Pandora are a bonus.

Long time buyer of Marantz and VERY disappointed with this product. This is my second unit after returning the first. The first one I bought had a bad HDMI monitor output (Even diagnosed by a technician.) Replaced it with a second and right out of the box this one's optical port for tv has a cracked housing around it. Also called Marantz support to diagnose a problem with using the game port for my Xbox One. No picture shows up UNLESS you completely TURN OFF the system and power it back up. Marantz dialed into my system to try and diagnose the issue and could not fix it and basically said "wait for the firmware patch". Wasted an entire day withn them trying to get it to work. Really? You spend $2200 on a receiver and this is the answer? Sorry Marantz, each year your products have one glitch after another. Also the downloadable app a joke (just check any review on it). It worked but once the latest update on the app started up it failed to work on anything, including my other Marantz amp I use for a turntable. Returning this and basically going to upgrade to separates with Rotel.

After comparing the Marantz with the Denon, Pioneer, and Yamaha alternatives I decided that the Marantz had the best audio quality. The features are great, and I never had problems with the wifi like others have complained. I am looking forward to using this for atmos in the future as well!

this Marantz dose do the best video and the best audio I would recommend this to anybody that wants quality audio and good video

Overall a solid unit. I've had some small issues with center channel and have since read that this is a common problem with Marantz. Overall I'm pleased with the sound during movies.

I purchased this receiver after hearing raves about it. I put up the $2200 and purchased this total piece of trash. I thought I was getting quality but that was obviously wrong. This system is full of glitches. I am lucky when I can finally get a rep on the phone to discuss the issues. Get used to calling Marantz on the phone and hearing "you are first in line" only wait another 20 mins before someone picks up. I must have hard reset the system 10 times already. Im going to return it and buy a pioneer or something quality.
