I had decided on going with the Marantz-1504 for the networking capability instead of the Marantz-1403 and it ended up being the best decision. The ability to control the receiver through the Marantz app. has been a huge plus! Very easy to set-up the surround sound processing using the included mic. Overall I have been happy with the sound quality and various features of this receiver. Also the smaller form factor has been a better fit for my needs along with less heat radiation from this unit.

The setup was extremely simple and I was listening clear sounds via Cable TV, PS3 Blu-Ray, Radio, and old cassette tape player within 30 minutes of taking it out of the box. The HDMI is pass through, without the set being fully on. I am unsure how much power is consumed in its standby mode. It would have been nice to be wi-fi compatible straight out of the box with the price paid, but a secondary adapter is needed.

This is a great receiver for the money. I bought it to replace a 15-year-old NAD receiver that I had bought refurbished and that had never worked properly. The NAD refurbished cost the same price as the Marantz new (The NAD would have cost almost twice as much new), yet the Marantz sounds better! I also own a better amp than this, so I know good sound, and I am impressed with how good this receiver sounds for the money. The setup mic does a great job, so the surround sound is much better than my old receiver. My setup is a bit different than the one pictured in the setup menu, so I had to try a couple of times to get the mic to set up the sound properly; and although it sounds great, it's not perfect, and it would be nice if the software would let you tweak the settings. The internet music features are great, although Pandora has stopped working; Marantz says it's because of changes on the Pandora side and that they will be fixed soon. I hope so, because I love being able to listen to internet music without having other devices hooked up. One of the few complaints I have is that you can't really control everything without the remote and, while it's nice to be able to navigate the receiver controls through the TV, there are times when I would prefer not to, and the display on the receiver is not always sufficient. Overall, though, I am very happy with this purchase.

Marantz NR1504 is a solid 50 watts a channel X5 Audio Video Receiver, you can run a sub, center speaker and surround Left and Right speaker and front left & right speaker has a very clean sound has 6 HDMI inputs including front panel input plus USB/ iPod plug in to play through. It's the complete package AVR.

I was amazed at how great this sounded even with my dated bookshelf speakers. Very easy on screen walk through and automatic tuning with the provided microphone made it worth the money alone. But the quality is amazing in itself.

There were two features I was looking for once exemplary sound quality was satisfied. 1. Something that could be in full view without looking so generic like all the others do to me. 2. Apple airplay so we can listen to UK radio stations without needing to connect with wires. This receiver fulfills those requirements very well. I was also delighted that having had to return the first one due to a damaged box from the warehouse, I got this second example and the price was reduced by $150. Good job Best Buy. You beat the prices form all the on line competition.

I was looking for an AVR which can fit in a TV stand shelf which also has all of the features I needed: plenty of HDMI inputs, network features, on-screen setup, and at least 50W per channel. This receiver was simple to set up, has great build quality and doesn't take up a lot of space. I use the web-based setup utility and the smartphone app to change settings when needed.

Bought one for my parents to replace their old Onkyo. The sound was so clean, so crisp, I had to get one for myself. Combined these with Bose home theatre speakers and I couldn't be happier.

I was warned that with 60 watts this model wasn't going to have enough power output for my home theater needs (even though it was just for an average size room.) But I loved my last Marantz so I did my research and took a chance on this one. Not disappointed at all. This new model is even better and feels even more powerful than my last Marantz (which had a higher watts output.) I think one of the big differences is this 1504 has discrete amplification so it can drive all the speakers really easily. I feel like I have power to spare. Great receiver!

The receiver set up easily and was incorporated into my overall system as soon as I took it out of the box. It has been working beautifully ever since.

I owned Marantz 30 years ago when it was among the premium of brands. These newer home theater electronics are a reminder of why Marantz was held in such high regard. Performance is exceptional, no feature is left out, and setup is very easy despite the features. I'll admit that I ignored the instructions and simply wired everything together before I started the built-in setup routine. I'd go so far as to recommend the same to anyone else. It makes little sense to connect only the TV so you can follow on-screen instructions to connect speakers and external devices. Those instructions seem to ignore the difficulty of installing into those built-in cabinets most end users now use. Speaker setup results in especially nice sound quality. Device setup is just as easy and the Marantz allows customized menus so family can recognize them. Internet channel recognition was straightforward after the network was connected. IPOD recognition and Airplay worked flawlessly. Thought I'd learn to use Pandora, as long as it was available. Easy and fun to do. Followed instructions to upgrade firmware. Worked. Followed instructions to add the IPHONE app for receiver control. Worked. I may have forgotten to note that everything sounds great. I use Logitech's Harmony ONE remote, so I can't comment on the Marantz's. It does have too many hard to read small buttons and the layout is awkward. Who needs it? Get a Logitech and make your family happy. I'd like to balance this review with some complaints. Still working on that.

Solid build quality. Beautiful design. Excellent sound. I would definitely recommend purchasing this A/V receiver. I wish the user interface of the menus/volume control was a bit better designed, but the iPhone integration and remote app is great.

Replaced 2007 Yamaha AV reciever. This 1504 AV unit has alot of easy to setup and use features, like connecting to apple products to video and audio to your TV. Down side is the comcast cable box that connect to it is ancient and has problems.

Love the way the new 5.1is a good sounding in the house. I love it. I was even able to put in myself by reading screen as my dad was a election. So it was easy to get the speakers in phase. That is so easy like the rules you had on there screen for people that ask what phase mean.

I recently purchased a higher end Denon receiver and love it. I wanted the same features but did not want to spend the money due to the location of this unit. Tech at the store recommended this receiver and I installed it. Install was easy and it has been great.

Wonderful receiver. Best remote I've ever had. Am presently playing iTunes internet radio to my system using laptop and AirPlay. Will upgrade to better home theater speakers shortly. Outstanding product!!!

The price was well within my budget, and this product exceeded my expectations.

Purchased this receiver based on the size and online reviews. We needed to replace the old receiver/DVDs player in our RV. Did not want to have to have a new cabinet made to hold the bigger and bulkier receivers out there so went with this model. It is perfect for our needs. Works great!

This is a excellent product. It has HDMI ports for all my equipment. My surround speakers sound great . With a touch on my remote I can switch to my Blue Ray and back to my TV to my CD player. And the sound on each is great.
