OMG! Still experimenting with set up. It does EVERYTHING. You won’t find a better all in one solution anywhere. I was going to go with separates which I realize is the way to go for a real audiophile experience but I watch a lot of movies in my time off and listen to music constantly and on a small budget this AVR so far exceeds all my expectations. Plenty of power, vast amount of controls and plays every format. Hooked up to my wireless in seconds, Bluetooth works flawlessly. A child could do initial setup. I steam my music from my iPhone from bed and the unit plays in any zone I select from the Marantz app. I read bad reviews of the app but works fine for me. The realism of Diana Kralls voice, the attack and tone of Dave Weckls drums sounds like they’re in my living room LIVE. Use good cables and invest in speakers. SVS Pinnicles and SB 3000 sub sound insane. I bought a component fan sits on top but the unit really doesn’t run that hot. Hot should absolutely be vented but not crazy. LOOKS fantastic. I also read reviews that Marantz needs a facelift ascetically, you judge I think it perfect. Copper bottom toroidal amp and connections for wides, sides , ceiling and atmos 2 subs, phono preamp forget about it! You cannot buy separates , at least not my standard for 3100$, so the SR8015 solved all my issues! I’m not a gamer but there is 8K in ,2 outs and there is a software update coming that is future forward for gamers. Unit is insane spring for it!

This receiver has everything you want and need as the centerpiece of your home entertainment center. Rated as 140 wpc x 2 channels driven, it has more than enough power to drive any speakers. It's musicality is what draws folks to the Marantz brand and the SR8015 is no exception. This flagship receiver can compete with separates with It's 11.2 channels. It even process up to 13.2 with an external amp. My only regret is I didn't purchase it when it was originally released. I could have saved $600. With it's premium feel and design, I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I use it daily for music and movies.

Amazing improvement over my Yamaha Aventage RX A1060-- the Marantz SR8015 is simply fabulous. Beautifully constructed, love the simplicity of the design. Running with my Focal Chora 826 Speakers. I have no issues with it running too hot but I have it on a shelf with about 2 inches of clearance. I have yet to use the Audyssey to make more precise settings for my system (yet it sounds terrific even now). This receiver has boundless power and of course I got it for the toroidal supply / made in Japan with the highest quality. Yes, I realize its not separates, but I use my system for Home Theater about 75% of the time and let's be honest, for the 25% of the time I listen to music, the SR8015 is fantastic. The remote is decent, nothing special, but backlit. I am going to order the 4k, 120hz HDMI adapter kit which Marantz is supplying for free so I can optimize my Xbox. On/off of the system is quiet, with zero feedback to the speakers. Very pleasant mild blue light while the system is on. Works seamlessly with all streaming services on my Samsung TV. And the Bluetooth connection is perfect - I use HEOS and run Pandora and Spotify easily which is such an improvement over my last receiver. I use the Marantz AVR Remote app on my Android and it works well -- a little lag as many have noted which can be annoying, but it controls my system accurately. Put simply this is a beautiful piece of technology. I couldn't be happier even if I could nitpick over a few small things. This was, for me, worth every single penny. A++

I purchased this AVR after returning an Arcam replacement for a previous Arcam AVR that died after a few years. The Marantz was superior in every way. The sound, features and on screen menus. I like the Smart Button features fir presets. I've been extremely satisfied and it does not run hot as mentioned in other reviews.

    Another Satisfying Marantz Experience

Previously, I owned a Marantz SR7008, running a 7.2 and then transforming it into a 9.2 setup. However, I decided to purchase the Marantz SR8015. I gifted away the former, providing me the perfect “excuse” to upgrade my receiver, enjoy new sound fields, e.g. Dolby Atmos, etc., and I transformed my system to a 7.2.4 arrangement. Thus far, I have not been disappointed by my decision to purchase this machine. The Marantz SR8015 has given me a new appreciation of my previous content, particularly films in Dolby Atmos. It is certainly more powerful than my prior A/V receiver, and sounds much cleaner and crisp. While my previous Marantz device is/was nice, the added speakers and new sound arrangements really do change the game. I suppose you cannot appreciate what you were missing, until you now have it at your disposal. All that said, if you are going to max-out on the speaker configuration, I certainly endorse the Marantz SR8015. (Otherwise, look at the SR7015 and save yourself the funds!) It is a hefty investment, but certainly packs a punch, gives you features and options galore, and delivers the quality you would expect at this price-point and from Marantz, in general.

Replaced an aging Denon with the Marantz SR8015. This AVR does not disappoint. It is loaded with features that allow for a custom listening experience. This 11.2 behemoth delivers amazing sounds in multiple formats; Dolby Atmos, DTS X, DTS Pro and IMAX enhanced!!! The sound quality it renders to your movies and music is incredible and is primed for the future with its 8k inputs/outputs. Definitely recommend it for home theater lovers!!!

this receiver is amazing! I had an Onkyo TX-RZ820 I had got back in 2018 and it was a nice receiver but just seemed like something was missing. I decided to try this receiver and if anything I could return it. set up was easy, just moved all the cables from my old receiver to this one and slid it into place. I powered it on and was impressed with all the zone areas the receiver wanted to place the mic at. it took a while but once that set up was done it switched to my Sirius/XM radio and GOOSEBUMPS! I have Klipsch Synergy F2 and F3 speakers I got in 2005 and it breathed new life into them! They already sounded good but now they sound that much better. Music is crisp and clear and I am hearing parts that were missing. I tried out the Atmos Surround with Saving Private Ryan and WOW! Just WOW! incredible detail and the surround effect was almost too much (I am an Iraqi Freedom Vet). The picture quality is very crisp and clear and awesome as well with the 4K from the movie and even regular DirecTV shows are good. This receiver has filled in what was missing from my old one and definitely worth the price. You will love this receiver for sure and won't be disappointed!

This replaces an Onkyo TX-NR3030. The only thing i think I'll miss about the Onkyo is that it had XLR pre-outs for the left and right channels which i had hooked up to an external amp. So far i don't think i will miss them. I'll mention some of the input sources for those who may be researching this AVR. The setup of this unit was reallt easy using the guided on-screen commands. Audyssey setup took about 15 minutes and it does make a noticeable difference, really impressed. The option to have 2 presets for the speaker configuration is really handy. I have one preset for two channel stereo listening and the 2nd preset is for the 7.2.4 movie listening. All of the ground speakers are Definitive Technology and I plan to replace the four ceiling speakers with Def Tech's as well soon. The remote is very basic, but the Marantz remote app for IOS is very useful. This is my first experience with HEOS and it's been great so far. It was nice to see that I can stream TIDAL using the HEOS app. I'm not a gamer, so the HDMI 2.1 Panasonic chip issue does not really bother me and i didn't purchase the SR8015 with gaming in mind. PS5 really has no issue and there is a work around for newer XBOX'x. Even though there is a work around for the new gaming consoles, Marantz has already acknowledged the issue and has stated they are working on a permanent solution. Which i was glad to see and am looking forward to. For those who may be researching this AVR and wondering how well various sources work with it, this is what's currently used as inputs and outputs: eARC works very well when viewing and listening to the various streaming apps from a LG CX OLED. Full Dolby Atmos comes through. For those wondering about placement, this weighs about 40 pounds and i have it on the bottom shelf of an entertainment console that has tempered glass as a shelf. I'm not worried about the weight because the Onkyo weighed 49 pounds and sat on the same shelf for 7 years. The back is open, not enclosed and there is about two inches of clearance at the top. I'm still tweaking all the settings, but even with just the settings I've made so far it sounds great and handles all the switching wonderfully. I'm new to Marantz and i like the experience so far.

So far so good, alot of features and settings to dial in and fine toon your system including per speker chanel frequency crossover which is good for getting the best out of your speakers. Havent been able to add hight speakers yet but 7.1 is kicking hard and 2.1 huos sound is alot more rich and full than i expected it to be cant speak on any of the 8k but 4k is very good 10/10 so far

If you are in the market looking for an AV receiver which not only supports 8k in/output, but also balance music and movie experiences, this is the right receiver. Sounds great in multi channels movie mode as well as in stereo mode to simply enjoy music. 4k/120hz through 8k port is not working at the moment, but Marantz said it will be addressed in future update.
