Remote in RF, with 3 zone receiver this is a must-have, especially at this price point. If you have your receiver in a closet, the remote is useless, still can use the phone but miss the convenience of a dedicated remote control.

The reason for three stars is that things keep going wrong with this particular receiver and I am exchanging it for an Arcam due to these problems.

Geek Squad installed in October, along with other components. Overall, the receiver performs well, except when I have two subs connected, sub one makes a continuous and annoying rattling noise that only stops if I shut it off or lower the volume to zero. Tried different RCA sub cables, swapped the SVS sub, switched Sub 2 to sub 1 port on the receiver and the noise is constant. Thinking of returning it to best buy... Not happy.

Bluetooth signals can be weakened by many things. Tucked in a cabinet, other near by Bluetooth devices, distance, and more. The Marantz SR8015 has HEOS Built-in. Tried to reset it today and now the remote control barely works. When it did work it was awsome. Stay away from marantz and denon. Plagued with hdmi issues. Should of known better.

Using an AV receiver as your video and audio hub, you must use Ultra High-Speed HDMI cables. Using proper cables will help limit communication errors between connected sources. There may also be EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) communication errors between your sources, TV, and receiver. Ensure all sources in the chain have the HDMI control option activated, including the receiver. Lastly, experiment with the video out settings within the receiver (i/p scaler, for example). Just add a separate 2 channel Amp like a Marantz MM7025 And you have Dolby Atmos at it’s finest.. 7.2.6 Vdo Only tukwila has this SR-8015 for 2.5k ask for george.. Denon, Marantz, Pioneer, are all manufacturing top of the line receivers, But this SR-8015 “Toroidal Amplifier” Is a Audiophile Class AVR...
