This game is a re-make of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga from the Game Boy Advance with updated gameplay mechanics, updated graphics, and a new side story, Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser. You control both brothers during fights. Mario is the A button and Luigi is the B button. During battles exact timed button presses is required to do massive damage, dodge or block an enemy attack. Minon's Quest is a behind-the-scenes story on how Captain Goomba, Shy Guy or Koppa and their crew rescue Bowser after Bowser is knocked out from the Beanbean Border. You can experience this side story by going back and forth between the main story with Mario and Luigi or Captain Goomba and crew at anytime once the mode is unlocked. The gameplay for Minions Quest is pretty much rock-paper-scissors. It's mostly auto battles with some control. This is one of the games in the superstar saga. Seems like they have remade a few of them.

My boy wanted a new 3ds game and I recommended this one. I figured if the game got to hard for him I would teach him the ways of the grind... But about 4 hours in and he hasn't complained about any boss fight being too difficult. If you love a good turn based game with Mario in it this is a must buy. I like the timing aspect to battles were you can avoid being hurt by an enemies attack... And sometimes even hurt them. It helps keep the battles engaging instead of just waiting for the enemy to hit you This game has tons of text though so may not be good for new or weak readers. This could mean you can sit next to them and watch them play so you can bond though.

Had this game back when the gameboy advance and the SP where the popular handheld console at the moment. '03 or '04 was when my grandma bought me this game. I was a freaking kid!!! I probably was in 5th or 6th grade. The big packs of AA batteries. WOW. I truly feel like if this was so long ago. LOL Enough!!! Let me get to the point. This game is freaking AWESOME. One of my favorite games to play on the gameboy when I was a kid and still today on my 3ds. It's a must get hands down!!! You won't regret it.

I enjoyed the original Super Star Saga, so I picked up this game as soon as possible. The updated graphics and music really enhanced my childhood memory, and the touch screens makes it very easy to change actions or navigate. The Bowser's Minion mini game is also very interesting. It is a bit tiring to play though, because you need to think deep into strategy. The greatest bummer is that they removed 3D support. There were many places where 3D would have looked awesome, but they decided to cut it all. Otherwise, this game is just awesome!

Originally released on the DS, this modern remake of Superstar Saga is a great game for RPG newcomers and veterans. The active battle system (where you press a button at the point of attack or while defending) keeps you involved in the game unlike more traditional JRPGs. Plus these game is really amusing. At around 20-30 hours, this game doesn't overstay its welcome. The added Bowser's Minions mode is a nice distraction, if a little simplistic.

Superstar Saga is an enjoyable remake, with a decent storyline, and very engaging RPG elements. It's fairly straightforward to pick up and play, but does have a bit of depth if you enjoy RPGs. Bowser's Minions is worth checking out, but was a bit disappointing, especially compared to the strong main game. Would definitely recommend if you haven't played the original and are looking for something new for the 3DS.

Luigi owns the stage as he battles ghost and collect gems. Game is fun and I really like to hear Luigi whistle and sing along with the games background music. Most annoying feature is the non existing save button unless I missed something. Game only automatically saves when you complete a task. Over I like playing it

The game play and story is entertaining through and through! The puzzles, hidden places, and story ties the game together for you to enjoy. Games like these are definitely interesting because the RPG style is what makes it fun. If you enjoy a good Mario and Luigi adventure then pick this game up because it's worth the time spent!

The Mario and Luigi Saga is a great RPG that started on the Nintendo DS and has always managed to entertain its audience with a fun story and great play mechanics. If you love playing with the Mario Brothers on the Mario kingdom you'll love the humor and gameplay this title adds to the series. This entry looks great on the 3DS.

The original Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga released on the Game Boy Advance in the early aughts. Now, the game has been remade with improved visuals, music, and design changes, PLUS an all-new mode has been included. A stellar value for an engaging RPG adventure in Superstar Saga and a nice bonus mode with Bowser's Minions.

If you've played the original on Gameboy Advance (or any of the Mario and Luigi rpg games), you know what to expect. Simple rpg style battles and exploration, witty and humorous writing, and all that silly Mario charm the series is known for. It's well worth your time, especially if you never played the original

Cool to relive my child hood and play this game. I was hoping it was going to be a spin-off if the original but it turned out to be a copy with a little extra, but I’m not complaining still fun to play.

I got half way when a glitch happened. I didn't want to lose how far I'd come so I tried that level again...same thing it froze. Luckily there is player two so I started over and deleted player one. So far so good. I love all Mario and Luigi games and this one is good except for the glitch.

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga was my favorite game on the Gameboy Advance when I was a kid. Now it's on the 3DS with enhancements and it's awesome. A must have for RPG fans, kids who like Pokemon and want something with similar combat, or pretty much any 3DS owner who can read.

The game includes all of the awesome Mario characters, but in a unique RPG format. I was never good with turn-based RPG games, but this keeps it simple and fun at the same time. However, the story and some of the dialogue can go on for a bit longer than I'd like it to.

THe jump from GBA to 3ds definitely made the game look a bit better, and the added content definitely makes it fun. If you played it before it's a great nostalgia trip, and if not its a great game completely.

A great remake of a GBA game. Graphics have been updated but lose the 3D which is a bit odd as the two previous games on the handheld were fun to look at. The new mode is mediocre and typically requires you to spend some time before it truly gets interesting.

Was looking for a new game for my son to play on his DS. After speaking to one of the associates he recommended this MARIO game. It was a perfect Christmas gift and my son loves it. Seems to play for hours, keep him busy in the car or while out at dinner.

This GBA game has been completely remastered and looks beautiful on the New Nintendo 3DS. The new content added with Bowser’s Minions makes this a game worth buying twice. One of my favorite GBA games, nice to see it still holds up.

Some say the Seven Stars RPG is the best Mario RPG to date, but I would argue that Superstar Saga easily takes the cake. The humor, the side quests, the minigames, the music, the moves, the atmosphere, the story. It beats it in every aspect. 5/5
