Much more than just a tennis game. Yes you can just play tennis but there are also Quests & story line to challenge yourself. Play solo against the computer or with a friend.

One of the best coop Mario experiences I have had on the Nintendo Switch. Excellent for parties/get togethers and plenty of single player content in the Adventure Mode to keep you entertained. Free DLC content in the form of extra characters like Chain Chomp, Boom Boom, Pauline, Kamek, and Dry Bowser! Online Tournaments with a chance to unlock alternate costumes for fan favorite characters like Wario ans Waluigi. 10/10 Would Recommend!

Mario Tennis Aces is an absolute ace when it comes to combining the joy of Mario with the thrill of tennis on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has once again struck gold with this fantastic addition to their ever-growing library of Mario-themed sports games. From its vibrant visuals to its engaging gameplay mechanics, Mario Tennis Aces serves up an unforgettable experience for both casual players and competitive tennis enthusiasts alike.

Game is fun my only gripe and it’s a bit late now but I’m just now taking the game out of the package (a month later) and the game case is completely destroyed. Seems like it was stepped on. Game is fine, just the case is badly damaged

This game is easy to pick up and play, have a good time with your friends and family, but when it comes to online, has a high skill ceiling. The controls are easy to learn, but you will need to put in the time to learn how to master them. But this game is a tight, fast-paced, well polished Mario Tennis game, and it has regular updates to online and addition of more characters! The single player story is okay, but local and online multiplayer is where the game shines. If you love tennis and/or grew up with the classic Mario Tennis 64, then you will enjoy this one. Just expect people to kick your butt online in the beginning. My advice: stay with it, and watch how the better player plays.

Tight controls, good mix up with variety of hits, and new mechanics with trick shots and special shots. Definitely adds another level of wit to your games of tennis. Simple matches can be played too without all the tricks and special pizzazz. This game definitely has its fair share of problems. Adventure mode is a bit barren, split screen can't be turned off for local multiplayer matches, and there lacks some flare with costumes or additional cinematic cut scenes. User interface exp is a bit below average with its weird stage select toggling. Hope there will be patches and DLC content in the future to fix all these issues. Online tourney is definitely good in this game. Matches are found pretty quick, but connection can be shotty at times depending on who you match up with. However, if your connection is good, nothing to worry about--otherwise you're back in the queue. Day 1 patch fixed up the lag found in the demo. Also, new ranking system incoming for more balanced match ups. If you're looking for more single player action, better off looking elsewhere, but if you want nice game play and good online multiplayer, Aces is the one.

This is an excellent tennis game that has great controls and plenty of variety for strategy. It is a very fun local two player game. The single player mode is pretty shallow and gets boring fast. But the actual tennis gameplay is the best in the mario tennis series.

If you are looking for a party game or something to play with family and friends, then I really recommend this game. The controls really work well and its got that excitement that brings out the competitiveness in anyone. Its been a while since I've played a game that does that and I'm really glad I picked this up as I had no intention of doing so. This game can be played solo and the ai does a good job of keeping you on your toes provided you put the difficulty on higher levels. The story mode is great but playing against others is really where this game shines best. I dare say this is a must have for all switch owners, so do yourself a favor and stop reading this and add it to your cart.

You don’t have to like tennis to like this game. It’s great to play with friends or family. It’s easy to pick up and learn but difficult to master.

This game plays like all of the other Mario Tennis games but it adds in a "Super Shot" that each character has once you fill up a meter. At first I was put off by this but you can play with it OFF and even if you leave it on it is not overpowered. Whenever a Special is used you can actually return it easily enough with enough practice. The only negative I see is the really short single player campaign. This game is definitely built more towards Online Multiplayer.

The premise of this game is incredibly cheesy. Everyone just happens to want to battle you by playing tennis. It doesn't necessarily sound appealing on the surface, but when you get to playing, you can't hardly put it down. The game has alot of unique aspects, such as being able to slow down time to get to a ball and external factors such as posts and creatures interrupting game play. It requires alot of strategy and picking up on patterns. I love it. My kids love it. I've only played adventure mode, but I'm sure multi-player is good as well. I find this to be much more fun and dynamic than the "old school" Wii tennis.

The game has enough mechanics to create a high skill ceiling that makes learning and improving enjoyable. It also has a simple mode, and swing mode that even the playing field for casual play. There are certain customization of match options that are lacking, though, which ding it that fifth star. Particularly, swing mode is not available for handheld mode/undocked. The single player is only slightly lacking but is enough to keep the player engaged. I had fun with it but have heard others say they were disappointed by it. I wouldn't ding it a full star for the single player, at all, though. The game is a blast and the motion controls make for great time with friends and family.

Cool gameplay but the game lacks visual creativity and lacked a good amount of content at launch.

Its Mario tennis so you know there is an adventure aspect, kind of basic quests. The actual tennis play is fun but surprisingly tough. Fun game!!

As a fan of Mario Tennis I was super pumped for this game. The story mode is a nice addition but isn't a robust campaign. As for the multiplayer or quick play, it's fun but challenging. Its more close to an arcade fighter. You aren't playing normal tennis but an obstacle filled, back and forth that requires you to watch your meters and deciding when to unleash them on your opponent. Its fun but you really need to practice and learn the controls well if you want to be competitive or play online or in tournaments.

If you enjoyed Mario Tennis, you should love this upgrade. You can play 1-4 players in dock mode on your TV, link two Switches in table-top mode, or play with other Switch owners online. You can used the controllers' buttons to control the players in the game or use the joy cons in "swing mode" and swing away like you're actually holding a racquet in your hand (like with the Wii). This game has more characters, more settings, and more variations of gameplay. It's like the original, but upgraded.

I play this with my friend every weekend and it gets competitive real quick with unique playstyles with each character and the changes in courts. The game is quite fun for all ages and is easy to learn but hard to master. If you're looking for a fun sports video game, look no further! This beats Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and creates a fun and unique experience for friends and family to enjoy!
