Mario Tennis Aces is an absolute ace when it comes to combining the joy of Mario with the thrill of tennis on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has once again struck gold with this fantastic addition to their ever-growing library of Mario-themed sports games. From its vibrant visuals to its engaging gameplay mechanics, Mario Tennis Aces serves up an unforgettable experience for both casual players and competitive tennis enthusiasts alike.

One of the best coop Mario experiences I have had on the Nintendo Switch. Excellent for parties/get togethers and plenty of single player content in the Adventure Mode to keep you entertained. Free DLC content in the form of extra characters like Chain Chomp, Boom Boom, Pauline, Kamek, and Dry Bowser! Online Tournaments with a chance to unlock alternate costumes for fan favorite characters like Wario ans Waluigi. 10/10 Would Recommend!

Much more than just a tennis game. Yes you can just play tennis but there are also Quests & story line to challenge yourself. Play solo against the computer or with a friend.

Game is fun my only gripe and it’s a bit late now but I’m just now taking the game out of the package (a month later) and the game case is completely destroyed. Seems like it was stepped on. Game is fine, just the case is badly damaged

This is a return to form for the Mario Tennis series. It's very fun to play with friends. There's also a good amount of singleplayer content as well.

I like to play all the Mario sports games (except Mario vs Sonic) so I picked this one up on sale. Very easy to use and even my 4 year old niece ended up getting good enough to consistently beat us adults. This is a quick play or party game, no story or real incentive to spend too much time on it. Buy ON SALE if you have kids that would enjoy a game they can play with the whole family or friends,

    Good But Comes With Caveats

Mario Tennis Aces has a quirky storyline and a nice presentation, and its Tennis-related challenges that you must complete to progress (and unlock additional courts) steadily become more challenging. Beware though: some of those challenges tend to become very specific, and mastering the numerous button presses/combos can be a bit of a pain. The main draw for me personally though is the local multiplayer which supports up to four players simultaneously. But as of launch the game offers no ability to play an actual, traditionally-scored match of tennis. "Instead" (quoting from Nintendo Life)," it’s the best of three games wins the match. As there are no sets, it’s possible to win a match in eight points. Users have reportedly searched around, and so far have had no luck changing these settings." Hopefully Nintendo will release an update that adds this seemingly obvious option, but until then potential buyers should know what they're getting into before deciding.

I've spent about 30 hours with this game and there is a lot to like, but also a lot not to like. The gameplay itself is great and there is a lot of potential in both online and local multiplayer. If you are a fan of the Mario Tennis series, you might want to check this game out. However, the game leaves a lot to be desired. There is almost no customization for any of the characters (only Mario has a changeable costume if you played the demo version). You don't actually play a full game of tennis. Instead you basically play best-of-three-sets. And there is no way to change that. The single-player Adventure Mode can be tricky and annoying to get through, especially if you've never played the Mario Tennis series. And you don't really get anything for completing it. I've played about 100 matches online and it can be very frustrating. Players just max out their energy gauges and perform special shots at will. And trick shots can be super annoying as well. But overall, I've enjoyed the challenge and am hoping that they can fix some of these problems (lack of customization, more robust Adventure Mode that actually gives you something, and a way to nerf the special shots/trick shots) with an update. I gave it 3 stars because I liked the game but don't think it's worth the price tag just yet.

Alright. The gameplay and story are extremely entertaining. The story is very self-aware at how ridiculous it is and that’s a nice touch. However, the story/adventure mode is so frustratingly difficult that it makes you want to rage quit. I felt the same way about Smash Ultimates adventure mode. For some reason Nintendo keeps making these otherwise exclusively multiplayer focused games, with these brutally difficult adventure modes and I’m just not sure what sense it makes. A casual player could likely not finish this. You shouldn’t be able to finish a game like Breath of The Wild with ease compared to this. Other than that, great game. Guess I should just gEt GuD.

I play this with my friend every weekend and it gets competitive real quick with unique playstyles with each character and the changes in courts. The game is quite fun for all ages and is easy to learn but hard to master. If you're looking for a fun sports video game, look no further! This beats Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and creates a fun and unique experience for friends and family to enjoy!

    Great Multiplayer Arcade Tennis

I have always enjoyed the Mario Tennis series, and this game is no different. While I was a little bit disappointed in the lack of customization, as far as an arcade style fun multiplayer tennis game, this DEFINITELY does the trick. My favorite is playing local doubles matches against computer and other players; great party game. Many said single-player is too easy, but there are definitely certain optional missions that are extremely difficult at the end. Overall, I didn't give it 5-stars, because I would have liked to see some customization like there is in Mario Kart, i.e. customizable rackets or shoes that give different bonuses to speed, power, agility, trick-shots, etc.

I played the original Mario Tennis on Nintendo 64 so knowing the same studio that made 64 version (Camelot studios) made the switch was good news. Gameplay os smooth solid, my biggest annoyance was the ability to break your opponents racket which results in an instant win if u break all 2 or 3 of them. I feel like it removes the experience of enjoying an tennis match. But I digress since you can turn the feature off in local play.
